Van der Sloot will supposedly reveal how Natalie died and how her remains were disposed of in exchange for a plea deal.

All I hope for is some sort of closure for her family. I cannot fathom their nightmare.

Oh please! I expect he will just lie again and make up some story that can't be proven nor corroborated, like she died accidentally and he panicked and dumped her in the ocean. And Natalie's mom will still never know if it's the truth. He delights in torturing the mom.

this is my thought as well. he just wants to get out of the u.s. and go back to his jail in peru where he can hook up with the latest woman in his life (he is divorcing the 1st woman he married while in jail who is the mother of the child conceived during his incarceration). he has to finish his sentence there and then be tried on drug smuggling charges (with the newest woman in his life), serve whatever sentence that results in..........before he would ever be extradited back to the u.s.

i feel for the holloway family but he's shown himself to be dishonest so what this plea is intended to accomplish for them is lost on me.

There must be some detail he knew that made them comfortable with the voracity.

ALL law enforcement involved seems to be saying case closed.

I'd like to know where he says he disposed the body. The easiest way, living in an island, would be in the ocean if he had access to a boat. But, say he didn't have one, without witnesses becoming involved, he could have buried the body in a spot that the FBI and police still haven't looked. And several years from now he'll try to make yet another deal to be moved to a cushier prison in his aging years, and say he could lead Natalie's mother to where the remains have been buried all this time. Partly to keep an ace in the hole if he needs one, and just to cause her more trauma yet again. She'd finally have Natalie's remains, but the years of trauma and torture he puts her through is something I see he can do.

I thought the night Natalie went missing, it was reported Van der Sloot called his dad, a judge. I’ve always thought the two of them took her body out in a boat and dumped her. His dad is dead now so, whether he was an accomplice, will never be known. I hope Beth Holloway has peace now. She never stopped making Van der Sloot accountable for Natalie’s death.

So, she's satisfied in that sense that Natalie has finally gotten some justice. She has just been wanting him to admit what she's been known for so long, that he KILLED Natalie.

In the Caribbean, it would be quicker ( maybe 24-36 hours), but there's also much more in the way of critters that might consume a corpse. Also, his dad might have known to weigh down the body with something (rocks, a chain).

The dude is a sick freak & I hate that he is being kept around because someone somewhere thinks a human like this can be rehabilitated. We know more about humans now and know there are some who are just not fixable.

I wonder what purpose these sorts serve in nature, why does the mutation persist? Literally, what is the evolutionary advantage of a being that snuffs out a beautiful life for some twisted satisfaction that benefits the species in no conceivable way?

The FBI said this??? I hope they are not the same FBI agents who bungled the case in the first place, when they tried to make a deal with van der Sloot by having Beth Halloway give him thousands of dollars which he used to escape to Peru because the FBI lost track of him. That enabled him to kill another girl.

This could just be the FBI saving face and rectifying their reputation in saying they finally tied up the case after all.
