We took a taxi and went to Atlantis. They have a day pass you can purchase for $25 pp. They give you wristbands to wear. You then can walk all over the resort. You CAN NOT use the pools or beaches. There are many cool aquariums on the property to check out. The neatest was a glass tunnel you walk through and the water is all around and on top of you. The fish and sharks swim right over your head.
I'm not sure how active the more mature end of your group is, but I know my mom would enjoy the Blue Lagoon beach day.
A portion of the beach is an inlet with shallow water. This was nice to hang out and relax. We later went snorkeling. My ds-11 at the time, snorkel a little but was "nervous" about sharks. There is a beach at this area where he played in the sand and watched all the little "creatures" around the rocks in this area. There are hammocks and a bbq lunch (hamburgers and hot dogs).
We went back on the 2:00 ferry.
You can also rent water sports equipment (kayaks etc.).
How did you book the encounter on your own?? While we are in Nassau, that is the one thing my little girls wants (and I am all for saving money) so any info would be great.
Billinaz,
A ? for you. My dd and I are doing the dolphin encounter on our own but they only gave us 4pm as a time to do it. I'm wondering what time you did it and what time that got you back on the ship. What did you do for dinner and did you make the show that night?
Thanks!
