I am an escape bride trying to avoid the dreaded 7500 minimum. As far as I know you can book the Napa and Sonoma rooms at the California Grill without having to meet this minimum. I have two questions:

**How do you book these rooms without going through dftw and getting the 7500 minimum also where do I get the menus for the lunch receptions?

**Would it be possible to have 20 people in the Sonoma Room or would it just feel empty?

Would love to book this asap as my wedding is 8/18 of this year but I can't figure out how I was scared if I asked my planner she would insist on the 7500 minimum!

Thank you!!! :flower3:

I am afraid I cannot help with information about the Napa or Sonoma rooms, but I do know that you can book the private room at Citrico's through the restaurant. I think these rooms are connected to the CG are they not? If so, it might be an idea to contact the restaurant and see if they can help at all!!!

Hello,

Quick question about Citricos...do you happen to know if you are able to hold a luncheon there in the private room? Thanks.

Hi, I am not sure about lunch as the restaurant is not open until dinner time. I think the first sitting is 5.30pm. I can PM you the e-mail address of the manager if you wish - just let me know!!

It's not the Napa/Sonoma, but if you're interested in the Contemporary, you can book the private room at the Wave for lunch. That's what we're doing after our VR this October. :)

Thanks for your response! I didn't know the Wave had a private room that is great! Do you know how many people it holds?

Here's the info I have from my PassPorter Weddings book:

Room seats up to 50 (we're having 22)

Minimums:
1-35 people
Brunch: $200
Lunch: $400
Dinner: $1500

36-50 people
Brunch: $400
Lunch: $800
Dinner: $2000

Groups of 20 or more must order off of a group dining menu (changes seasonally).

We are paying $37/person (includes salad, entree, dessert and coffee, tea and fountain beverages) and I *think* she quoted me $8 for kids' meals. Plus 6.5% tax and 21% gratuity.

The restaurant number is 407-824-3800

HTH! :goodvibes

so my step-mom and i ate at the california grill on sunday night. i asked if the napa room wasn't occupied if i could show it to her since she has never seen it and it was most likely going to be my reception venue. a manager took us in there to see it. i have all my info from our coordinator at home, plus the passporter info, but i was in a fog from exhaustion at this point. the manager told my stepmom it was a $3000 minimum. she at that point shut down mentally, and i lost her :rotfl2:. i don't think this is what my paperwork says, but still, i don't think she's really done the numbers in her head to see it'll probably be about that anyway. i didn't argue with the guy, i was too tired. she was asking him questions i already told her the answer to and it was making me :headache:. there's nothing that irks me more than when someone doesn't listen to the information i just gave them 3 minutes prior  i'll probably be emailing to see about the minimums this week or next.

Here is what Passporter's says for Food and Beverage minimums:
$1,000 for events ending
before 4 pm
• $4,000 for events ending
between 4 pm and 6 pm
• $3,000 for events starting
after 6 pm

If you call the Disney event # to book the Napa/Sonoma room for a wedding event, they will transfer you to DFTW.

The Wave's private room is a great alternative (except for the "no -windows" thing) because you can book thru the restaurant directly. Citricos is only open for dinner, so you can only book its private room for dinner. Any events held earlier in the day would go through the event group and therefore DFTW.
