Names that only old

Audrey, Caroline, Eleanor, Phoebe, Gretchen...

If I ever have a daughter, she will be named Audrey after my Nana. All of the other names I listed are contenders for middle names or first/middle names for any other daughters that I may have.

My niece's (she's 4) middle name is Cynthia after her Aunt Cindy. My nephew's middle name (he's 10 months) is Clayton after his Great-Grandfather.

I don't know any Peggys under the age of 40.

You don't see many Edgars now days.

Beatrice
Margaretta

Ugh, I HATE this trend. Sadie is another old name I've seen on young girls.

I worked at a senior living home and they had the same names as the kids in daycare. I guess their parents aren't old enough to know when these names were out the last time around.

I LOVE this trend. Everything old is new again. My DDs are named after my grandmother and mother. It's a tribute to strong loving women who aren't with me anymore...and some of the names people on this thread have derided as too old fashioned are among my favorites (well, maybe not Eunice ;))

My name is Roberta (Bobbi), named for my grandfather. I'm almost 40 and only know one other with my name. I used to HATE it; now that I'm old myself, it doesn't bother me and I appreciate it.

My grand & great-grandpararents are/were:

Theda Bernice
Martha Leona
John Leslie
Robert Harold
Herman
Edward
Ethel
Cora (which I love and now know a couple children with that name)

Bernadine
Leona
Chester
Eldon
Harvey

Ottis
Oddie
Clarence
Hubbert
Herbert
Lucille

My grandfather was Christopher Columbus S-------

Penny

I'm 63 and my middle name is Grace after my late Great Aunt. Growing up I was embarrassed by my "old lady" middle name. Now there is a Grace everywhere you look. I even have a Granddaughter with Grace as a middle name.:thumbsup2

I love it too. :goodvibesI'm not a fan of a lot of the made up names I've heard, but this is a trend I hope continues.

We named dd and old fashioned name. Not knowing at the time how trendy it would become. However, shes been the only Amelia in any of her classes since birth.

Ok there were 2 (2!) other Amelia grace's in the nursery when she was born. But she was the only Amelia grace in the nicu.
