The Airport in Ottawa, Canada has its own version of the Teddy Bear Lady!
Love that happy ending!
Haven't met Lynn, but our family has been blessed by strangers often enough to know the good that people like Lynn do. When my older four were little we were often approached by older men or older couples who were reminded of the days when their children were that age. None of them ever overstayed their welcome but rather offered us support, a reminder that these days weren't forever, and to enjoy them while we could. And they clearly appreciated our kids.
When we drove out for my cousin's wedding, eldest daughter got to feeling peakish before we got back. A truck driver at the next table in a restaurant got to chatting with us and noticed she wasn't 100%; he left shortly before we did but met us as we were exiting the building, asking if he could give her a stuffed animal.
He happened to give her a bunny; her favorite stuffed animal, which she'd had nearly since birth, was a bunny, but she hadn't brought it along because she felt she'd outgrown it. She cuddled the new bunny until she got home, then introduced them to each other.

For sometime thereafter, she'd tell me about the nice man who wanted to make her feel better and gave her a bunny.
I have known people with OCD who were frequently frustrated by their own compulsions. But I've also known people who'd been diagnosed with OCD who were perfectly happy with their personal approach to life. I get the impression that Lynn is of the latter type and I hope that is the case. She sounds like a lovely lady.
