Mystery at Sea

This thread has me so nuts! I dreamed last night that DCL made their announcement. It was two new ships and the Magic in the Med! But wait-here is the kicker. We'd be permitted to bring dogs onboard-only on the "Poop" deck! I woke up laughing!

Yeah I know, too much DIS! LOL

Interesting - now the coordinates diverge - Alaska and Amsterdam. Seems no way for both to be true. The majority of evidence points to Europe, wonder if they will be announcing more than just 2007?

Does anybody think that the hour glasses are an indication of when the next clue will be posted? Thursday, there was one hour glass and there was a new clue page posted on Friday. Friday's page had 3 hour glasses and the new message came yesterday....now there's one again. Anyone bet that the next clue will come tomorrow? Just a thought.

Good work on everything so far everyone! I'm having so much fun reading all of the theories out there. Hopefully, I'll be celebrating a repo cruise booking with some of you soon!

She thinks we're going to cruise Northern Europe because Disney will sail to the places where many of the storybook characters come from...

Snow White - Germany
The Little Mermaid - Denmark (near Amsterdam.. right?)
101 Dalmatian - London (also from the newspaper headline: "Disney Magic Spotted!" Spotted as in the Dalmatians)
Beauty and the Beast and Hunchback of Notre Dame - France

The other big clue she picked up was from the message on the bottom of the page: "Tomorrow an international committee will be formed to dive deeper into the matter."
She suggested "dive deeper" relates to "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" by "Jules Verne". We searched wikipedia, found that Jules Verne had 3 ships called Saint-Michel I, Saint-Michel II and Saint-Michel III (the coins showed St. Michael or something like it). There's other info relating to some of the clues. Can someone please look into this? Thanks.
:hippie: She'll be reading this thread after school tomorrow. So, do your homework. :teacher: :wave2:

Wow! What fun insight.

My guess... with the 15th Anniversary of DL Paris... the Med in 2007, then if they want to ready the ships for Alaska they'll have some time.

I agree, the designers of the DLC Mystery at Sea web site know their stuff.

Just think... in one week, we'll know the message!

Was just on the DCL site - went to CC members area to see if anything there relates to mystery. 'Map' dropped down inviting me into 'game'. Noticed on map on part 'brown' as opposed to greyed out was Europe. Definately think Europe will be the announcement 1st.....followed by :confused3

To add - went to the 'Special Cruise Ports' section and under the regular listing (St Kitts, St Lucia etc) there are 5 'blank' lines. I don't think disney would have blank lines on their website by accident. I think they will announce 5 ports for the Med and put them there.

I think the bubbles coming from the tea cup sound like sulfur springs. Does anyone know of sulfur springs in the med? Also, anyone get any clues as to the length of the cruise? Just wondering.

If you go to the disney cruise site and click under special cruises there are 2 blank spaces...interesting. Could that be eastern and western med?

I was just going to post about the 2 blank spaces, but that doesn't make sense. There should be 4. Eastbound Repo, Westbound Repo, 11 day and 10 day. Hmmmmm......

Disney Cruise Line
Yes you read that right! To add to all the festivities going on in the resort in 2007. the Disney Cruise Line ship "The Disney Magic" is coming to Marseille and will feature 8 stops along it's route.
Be sure not to miss this once in a lifetime occasion during the 15th anniversary of Disneyland Resort Paris!

Maybe we should recommend these guys to help out DVC with their next pirate scavenger hunt in Downtown Disney? :rotfl2:

I have been trying to 'decode' the tickertape morse message....with little success. We need a Ham Radio operator! I have listened to the audio numerous times and keep coming up with different letter LOL. So - if anyone figures this out I would love to know what it means.....I am definately not fluent in Morse :teeth:

Could the clue of lava gone to the birds be a reference to the Canary Islands? There is a cruise port here.

This is getting really exciting. Although I would love the Northern European cruise, the med.

On the paper today is a picture of Snow White...

Actually, Disneyland Paris's new ad campaign is "Need Magic?". They have two ads out right now. One with Peter Pan and Captain Hook and one about a young girl becoming a princess. Could they all be related????

the latest morse code message is:

'enjoying the pigeons and the embrace'

Anyone notice the message on the right top corner of the newspaper, next to the hour glass? It's a little hard to read it but under "Watch the Time" it says something like, "Expecting a big announcement may be right around the corner". Did anyone notice this type of message on any of the old newspapers? I don't remember seeing one.

If I'm not mistaken, Venice has a crazy amount of pigeons. I don't know what the "embrace" part of the new morse code means...but I'll bet Venice is part of it! A HA! We're getting closer!

When I think of "the embrace" I think of Rodin's sculpture The Kiss. From what I understand, this sculpture is housed in the Tate Museum in London!

Oh, there are a few pigeons in London too especially at Trafalgar Square.

This is so much fun...

Today, pigeons have formed colonies throughout the city, and the estimated 100,000 birds far outnumber Venice's 60,000 human residents.
