Mystery at Sea

I think you guys are expecting too much from the announcement on the 21st. On the DCL home page, with the Mystery at Sea link, it says to solve the mystery "before our exciting new itinerary is announced on March 21, 2006". I hate to pull you guys back to reality but I think you can stop dreaming that new ships or multiple destinations are going to be announced next week.

OK - the imagine awaits thing was me.....and I don't claim to to be an expert in Morse code.....I think I was wrong now that I go back....remember this was my first attempt at decoding and since then I have become a bit more proficient.

MAGIC = -- .- --. .. -.-.

IMAGINE = .. -- .- --. .. -. .

So, going back to the DCL website it is definately -- .- --. .. -.-.

SORRY!!!!!!!! :crazy: :sad2:

And I have a question..........does the 'enjoying the pidgeons and the embrace' come from the actual 'sounds' you hear when you click on the ticker-tape??

Boy, are you a "party pooper" :smokin: :smokin: Disney is all about MAGIC and DREAMING. We are just looking at the clues and speculating......is all in FUN!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

We all know the Sun will still rise on 3-22-2006, if they just announce the MED cruises and that is all. (How awesome will it be to go the the MED...!!!) But, we all have had FUN.....guessing....

If it was going to the Med, why are all the newspapers from the Pacific? Now it is a newspaper from Japan. What's the deal? a new clue looks like a pocket watch? (look on the very top) :confused3

another reference to Italy...

An early reference to the pocket watch is in a letter in November 1462 from the Italian clockmaker Bartholomew Manfredi to the Marchese di Manta, where he offers him a 'pocket clock' better than that belonging to the Duke of Modena. By the end of the 15th Century, spring driven clocks appear in Italy, and in Germany, Peter Henlein a master locksmith of Nuremberg is regularly manufacturing pocket watches by 1510. Thereafter pocket watch manufacture spread throughout the rest of Europe as the 16th Century progressed.

Italy here we come :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

21° 18'N, 157° 50'W - Honolulu, Hawaii. 2008 Itinerary will be Hawaii. Previous morse code was translated as " Hot Lava has gone to the birds". It is referring to Mount Kilauea in the Big Island of Hawai'i.

Hey Peter, we could just all sign up and then we wouldn't have to keep paying for these cruises! See you on the way to the Med!

Here we go again. Another day of decoding. Anyone tried the new morse code yet? Looks like we won't see another clue for 3 days. There are three hourglasses on today's post.

pipchik98 had a good point about the Canary Islands, Royal Caribbean / other cruise lines stop there & the bit about lava going to the birds could be referring to these volcanic islands...although, the islands weren't actually named after birds, but instead dogs! This is impossible!

I guess the higher-ups at DCL created this whole thing to amuse themselves. C'mon! Somebody who's talented please tell us what the new morse code says!

The decoded mesage that was posted today on the Mystery At Sea webpage states:

Enjoying the pigeons and embrace.

That was what the folks who listened to the message the other day stated. For those who will listen to the message today, I can't wait to hear what it states. Hurry and post the info (please!).

I think hot lava gone to the birds means that DCL will not being going to Hawaii. :sad2: If something has gone to the birds that means that it's not a possibility anymore. I will be very sad if this is true. We were soooo hoping for a Hawaii trip.

Then why would today's coordinates point to Honolulu? I think Hawaii is involved. Just maybe in 2008?

Has anyone thought about the points on the map (not the longitude and latitude coordinates, the actual locations).

The first point (actually not a point, where the line starts) is Castaway Cay. The next point (first with coordinates) is around St. Thomas. The next two point, I'm not sure but the second of the two is near Cape Verde. The new one today is near the Canary Islands. The article reports that prior reports have not been accurate. Also, the coordinates in the articles are where the report is coming from, not necessarily where the ship is.

The rumors have been Mediterranean, Hawaii and Alaska. It would be wrong for DCL to not include all three in their clues just to keep us going. I want to know who has been doing all the research for these clues. That would be a fun job to have ("Ok, for the next couple of weeks you need to make a mystery which includes all the rumored places we will go, but they all have to somehow point back to where we actually are going. Have fun!"). :lmao:

The newspaper title is from Japan, but the coordinates listed in the article are Honolulu.

Ya'll are a blast... I have to say, I was not the least bit interested in the Med. itinerary cruise (sailing, but even hearing about it...) I know many are very excited and eagerly awaiting and I'm happy for that! I have not been following "The Mystery at Sea" but for some reason today I looked at it and then read this whole thread. WOW! I am amazed at all of your awesome knowledge!
You have all made this so fun and anticipating... now I even want to know all there is! You have me hooked! I know a trip like this is out of the question for me or my family at my stage of life, but I will so look forward to having people share their wonderful plans and experiences...
And all this fun IS about hoping and dreaming and IMAGINING!
Thanks to all for providing a lot of fun and extictement! :) :) :) :)

I can't believe I did this but I LISTENED to today's Morse Code message and decoded it:

Locked in with the count.

Boy, I keep thinking about that nursery rhyme, "Sing a Song of Sixpence," and am still very worried about the Disney Cruise Line and these coded messages. I have a sudden need to go to that link that Hygiene99 gave a few posts ago. pirate:

Thank you so much for decoding it because it has been driving me crazy not knowing what it says or how to decode it. :goodvibes :moped: me riding in Italy...wishful thinking

Is it at all possible that the Magic could be going to South America and up the Coast to Alaska and then Hawaii?

I think the compass is cool. The first 2 pages it pointed east (or ENE or SE) then yesterday it was due north, and then today it points south. Pointing all directions but west. I guess the next page will point west.

Let's see, if it is pointing all directions, maybe they are going to take the Magic out to sea and drive it around in circles!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:
