We LOVE Hilton Head Island. We used to go to MB, but about 10 years ago found beautiful, quiet, lovely HHI

We have never been back to MB and dont have any desire. Too many young kids running amuck and too crowded.
We always rent a condo and go through

Last year we stayed in Palmetto Dunes at the Moorings. It was literelly a stones throw to the beach and we had a 2BR, 3BA condo. It was perfect

Here is a link to the actual condo we stayed at

We love to rent bikes (they will deliver them to your condo and then pick them up) and ride them on the beach and throughout the resort.
We have also stayed at Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Club Resort. They are a bit older units, but are oceanfront (in buildings A, B, C and Admirals Row). You could get 2 one bedroom units in the same building. The two bedroom units have a queen bed in one room, and twins in the other...probably not ideal for 2 adult couples. HHB&TC are much more affordable. They are in the Folly Field area. Here is a link to one of the one bedroom units...we have not stayed at this one, but Im posting for comparison.

I am not a seafood lover, but my DH is and I would suggest eating at the Sea Shack if you go to HHI. It is a favorite with the locals (and got a big shout out years ago from Rachel Ray) and gets very crowded. Go during the off times for a meal and plan on taking it back with you to your condo. Seating is very limited and people wait for a LONG time in the line to place an order. It looks very sketchy, but seafood lovers LOVE it
When we arent hitting up Walt Disney World...we head to our other love...HHI
