Yes you can do that. Until the end of July (when the KTTW card expired) I was able to secure FPs with both my AP, the KTTW card and make FP+ selections with my MB. The KTTW works even when that person is not the park as do the MBs. They are all detached from the system denying FPs if it wasn't used to enter the park. The APs do not give FPs though if the person hasn't entered the park.

When I had all 6 room keys and 5 APs, I could pull 11 FPs at the same time for 5 ppl in the park. Or pull 5 and 6 at different rides, etc.

The APs also work to pull FPs when you've used the MB to enter the park instead of using the physical AP.

Egads...seems like the Fastpass system hasn't been coupled to the "multiple keys" system. Which could also point to regular FP going away, since they haven't bothered with it.

That is exactly the plan. Plus it is extremely costly to try and marry the 2 systems together. It just isn't going to happen. The easiest way to prevent onsite users from using FP- is to not give out room keys. Which as soon as they get the TS portion rolled out, then they can do that.

Interesting comments from Iger....

Disney Profits inch up..

Iger said the project began a new "beta phase" Aug. 2 in which the systems will ultimately be used by more than 80,000 customers. He said guests who have used the features in early tests have reacted positively, though he did not elaborate.

Iger said Disney is now targeting a "probable full rollout in the early part" of its 2014 fiscal year, which begins in October. Executives had previously said they were aiming to have MyMagic+ fully implemented by the end of this year.

Interesting. We're going at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct, and have heard nothing about bands. I still get the general "Learn about Magic Plus" message when I check my reservation. Now, I have a room only reservation & some older non-expiring tickets, but I'd hate to have missed out on FP+ if they're going to be active for guests at POFQ.

At what point in time before my trip will I know if we are magicbands or the regular card keys. Thanks for your response.

Too early to tell when this will be fully live.

I don't think FP+ has (currently) anything to do with the waits for Pirates and HM. It's early August. Aside from early morning and later at night, those attractions are going to have lines. I'm not sure what times of year MYD714 usually goes to WDW, but the peak summer months are rarely less than 20-25 minutes for those two attractions most of the day. Until about 2-3 hours before closing, that's pretty much their wait times from 11 AM onward.

We go to WDW every August for the last 12 years, usually the 2-12th. At the most, we've maybe waited 10 minutes, and that's pushing it. We typically walk right on them without any wait.

I don't think that FP+ is necessarily affecting these rides because we saw maybe one family use FP+ while we were waiting in POTC. I just know that the lines are WAY longer than I've seen since I about 1992.

Has anyone else noticed the dates available to start booking FP+ online (before you get the pop-up of death) are a few days in August and then it starts again Oct. 16?. As soon as the pop-up comes up, the October dates disappear. Very interesting.

I've noticed a lot of meet and greets on the list. If my 3year old wants to do a meet and greet do I also need to have a FP for the meet and greet to escort her? Or will they let me through without a FP provided my daughter has one?

Sorry if this has already been addressed I did not read at 50+ pages of the thread before I asked

That is a good question. Looking forward to the answer.

If it holds true how it was with regular Fastpass, yes, EVERYONE in the Fastpass line needs a Fastpass/FP+.

::yes::

And that is my check in date. Hmmm

I apologize if this has been answered in other threads, but some are quite long.

We are from Canada and found a method to get into MDE for our trip starting August 17. We are at AKL and were able to organize the Magic Bands (I presume because we are at a test resort) and set up FastPass + for each day of our trip.

My questions are: 1)will we still get Key cards and have access to the "old" fastpasses as well as the FP+, or do we just have to use the Magic Bands now that we are connected to them, so to speak? and 2) how easy is it to make changes to FP+ if we don't have phones in the park to use WiFi? Is there a kiosk area in the park to access?

Not really worried about double-dipping as we have been to WDW numerous times so riding everything constantly is not the huge priority it used to be, but am curious as to how this works before we arrive.

TIA for any comments.

You will get cards as back ups incase problems with the bands. They have reported you can use the cards to get FP- but not really supposed to.

They have kiosks in the park to make changes and they work just like on your computer or phone. Just scan your band and it pulls up your info.

Thanks for asking that information!

Glad to know they have kiosks in the parks because for us : on a vacation, no phone with us!

Extra question : can you plan all your FP+ at those kiosks or you have to do that in advance?

Another extra question : can you still use regular FP if you have your FP+ set up for that day?

Radio Frequency Identification

Yes. Radio Frequency Identification.

This is a technology not unique to Disney. It is a way to wirelessly transfer data. Some other common uses are electronic toll collection and Home Again chips inserted into pets.
