Did anyone see the tweets from the D23 Expo, Disney announced there are 80,000 in the current test.

80, 000 x 3 fps a day
240, 000 fps gone before I get to rope drop!!!!!
Then some will double dip too!

Not fab for a non tester then :-(

That would be horrible! But, do you think the 80,000 represents everyone over the course of the test for the next 20 days or so? It is a substantial number though. It could affect wait times.

I have been watching wait times on the app. 40 minute wait for Pirates right now. But the rest of the wait times and FP return times look pretty normal.

This vacation is stressing me more than it should! Arriving from Canada to POP aug 13-24 I have customized my bands and selected fast pass + reservations when prompted. I have not received an invitation to participate in the test. I called because information has been wrong or missing several times and have gotten different answers. One, "you are from Canada, and will not be part of the test, there is a glitch" two, "maybe you are part of the test, have fun playing around with it" and last "you are part of the test" all my info is correct now except my DH birthday. I am happy either way, I have two plans made but would really love to know before we arrive.

I customized my magic bands in July for August , I received an e-mail saying they have been shipped to the resort and when I go to the app on my phone my bands show up as active and I have read on the Canadian trip planning on DIS that other Canadians have actually received e-mails saying theirs bands are being shipped to their homes. So I think you are getting some miss information.

The tweets didn't specify, but it would seem to be the total for this multi-week test.

I believe it means there are 80,000 testers over the course of the month (I could be wrong though). I get your point though.

I do want to point out that when I called to express my concerns about testing MM+ I was assured that same day FP+ would be available if I need to change for whatever reason (whether headliners are available or not remains to be seen). We are both nervous and excited about the test as we are planners but we also like to have the flexibility to change those plans. We did the DDP once and we won't do it again because of planning our day around ADRs.

Even in the FAQ on their website, they claim that same-day FP+ options will continue to be available so I'd like to think that they are accounting for it. If not, they will have many unhappy customers as you point out!

I know it is all very confusing. I have received different information everytime I called as well. At this point I would agree with many others who have said as long as you have customized your bands and made fastpass selections you're in.

I've been watching and haven't noticed anything overly abnormal in the FP return times over the past 3 days. It's not like TSMM FPs (or any other attractions) are disappearing a lot earlier than they have before.

It would be nice to have consistent info! Guess I will wait and see when we arrive. No matter what the escape from reality into the Magic will be awesome. Magic bands or not

I was there for the first three days of the test and didn't notice that FP- were going any faster. TSMM still was available until around noon and Sorin and Test Track were each available until 1 pm or later. Only Peter Pan's Flight went quickly at MK then Space was the next one to go out and that was with a high crowds level on Sunday which is MKs EMH day. With out MB or FP+ we didn't notice any difference in our vacation than other summers.

That's the assumption that people keep making but I'm not sure I buy it. Especially considering that FP+ and FP are not tied together. It's been said in articles that FP+ is being used to manage loading on rides and is a dynamic system. That would indicate that the supply wouldn't necessarily be depleted. The problem is the public really has no idea how the system will work or how 80,000 Fp+'s being reserved will affect things.

Time will tell.

Would you be willing to take one for the team and stay all month to offer updates?

and I apologize if this has already been answered; I tried doing a few quick keyword searches but I may have missed it. If so, if someone would be so kind as to point me to the answer, I appreciate it!

I know its in the testing stage, but once FP+ rolls out, does this mean that every guest going to a WDW park (on site or otherwise) will only get to choose 3 FP per park per day? When DB and I go to DL (and I am aware it is a smaller park) we usually max our day from open to close, and on average use about 5-6 FP throughout the day.

I love the idea of being able to reserve my FP ahead of time with FP+, but at the same time am concerned that certain rides will turn into the east coast version of RSR and all the FP will be gone even before rope drop happens, much like popular ADR's are almost immediately unavailable at the 180 day mark. :(

I've been watching online. We aren't there yet. :)

We will be part of the testing the August 13-23. I'm hoping they have a little time to fix any glitches before we get there.

Well, if you were truly dedicated you'd had down early. For us, you know. ;)

That is the understanding at this point. But that is 3 FP+ in advance. It is unclear what will be available to each guest during the day.

It remains to be seen what the ultimate impact will be. We don't know how Disney is handling advance FP+ vs. same-day vs. standby. We may not even begin to figure it out until well after everything is live.

ADRs becoming unavailable at 180s doesn't happen nearly as much as it used to.

We'll be down there at the same time...but I'll be on the outside looking in, so to speak :(
