I have the red/purple one....the DC14 (newer model than the DC07) and have posted about getting it.....I still love it!!.....AND I remember "James" from your previous post........Mine is "Dylan".....

My kids REALLY get a kick out of calling him "Dylan" too....they tell all they "introduce" all their friends to him when they come over too...

Hi! I have a Dyson too. I LOVE it. I'm amazed everytime I use it. I got mine at Linens-N-Things w/ a 20% off coupon- they're always sending those coupons in the mail.

Wow! This thread kept going! I went to Sears this morning. The young man selling them acted like I was bothering him with my questions. I looked, tried out one or two, and left.

Later, I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond, but they only carry the upright 07 and 14. Bummer. I want the canister. Those uprights will not go under furniture, even the "low" model (red one) looks like you'll have to bend waaaaay over to push it under your bed or couch, and the Sears guy said, "oh no, none of these are going to really get under your furniture"....
I'm used to canisters. The Sears guy said he "wouldn't buy a canister....they've only ever sold like one of them...."

Now I'm calling Linens-n-things to see if they carry the canister. If they do, it is mine tomorrow!

I'd love a Miele, but I'm desperate for a vacuum and can't wait for shipping. My house is a mess because we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel. Yes, it "sucks." ;)

I have 3 vacuums. My Kenmore breaks belts alot!! It has the lever on the bottom left side to adjust for wood floors. My repair man says it is a bad design. Belts always break on these types. I have an old Kirby needs repair, just bought canister vacuum Eureeka I think. so far so good

My red/purple (Dylan ;) ) comes with the under the furniture attachment thing to connect to the hose....is "sucks" so good with that attachment that you sometimes can't lift it off a bare floor with out REALLY pulling hard!!
AND attaching the attachments is a TOTAL breeze

Wait! Stop the presses! "Under furniture attachment thingy"!? I didn't see any thingy! So it snaps onto the hose when you have it pulled out? Can you use it for bare (read wood) floors or is it just for???? I'm lost.

Yea....it comes standard (with mine it did) with the red/purple one.....go look on the dyson site about accessories I think....dyson.com I believe

And yes you kinda push a little lever on it to change from carpet to hard floors......works great on my pergo

I have the purple animal Dyson, but the 07, not the 014. It does have an under furniture attachment. I don't know why you couldn't use it on bare floors though the vacuum has a bare floor setting that works well. I also used the attachments in the corners and on the stairs. It felt like I was using a canister since the hose was so long. They worked great. I just wish I would have checked Kohl's and used my coupon.

And the only difference according to the site betw the 14 low reach and the 14 animal is the carpet care kit (which I believe is some type of powder stuff) and the little brush tool (which I had on my windtunnel that I returned and thought it was awkward to use)....and 90.00 more!! So you need to really look if the extra stuff is really worth it.

I just came from the site! It looks like the red/purple Dyson is the same as the "only at Kohl's Dyson" Either that or I'm crazy! The under furniture thingy is the same, but called something different so it can be sold exclusively at Kohl's.

Now I need to decide between the canister, red/purple, and Kohl's model.

I, myself, never cared for a canister type.....I have mostly carpets and area rugs in every room except pergo in the kitchen and hardwood upstairs hall and spare room.

Check out Best Buy too...I bought my red/purple low reach there as "open box" item for 100.00 less than reg price and still comes with the same guarantee/warranty too. Plus it was right after Xmas....so I figured someone just didn't want it or something....they also said if it was "defective" they just send it directly back to Dyson and do not "refurbish" it so that wasn't the case.

Another thing I like about it...is that it is pretty quiet...especially compared to the windtunnel and empower by Hoover that I returned. You can actually hear someone talk to you in the room when you use it.....well, not totally "normal" voice but not screaming like my Hoovers.....

Good luck and let us know!!!

Thanks for your help. I'll let you know how it worls out. :cool1:

The places online that sell Miele overnight free of charge. So if you want one you would only have to wait one day. Not bad for the best vacuum out there. :flower:
