My family is a little under the weather and we were scheduled to stay at AKL tomorrow for 3 nights. I wanted to change the ressie for next week, but the ressie showed auto cancel. I had my cc statement in front of me and they said there was no money on the account. I faxed it over to them and they said the computer "glitched" and the money would be credited back this coming week. However, they said there was no room for me tomorrow (even if I wanted to keep my ressie) and there was nothing next weekend. After to speaking to several people up the line, there was nothing they would or could do for me. I have stayed on property many times and always made my ressies over the phone and never had a problem like this before.

SO-- everyone you may want to check your ressies on line or at least call to make sure there are no problems with them.

Looks like we'll have to wait a couple more weeks to go.

I think next weekend is when they tape the Christmas parade and if I remember correctly, quite a few of the people involved with that stay at the AKL. If you had wanted to go, would they have been able to offer you anything else on site? That's a scary thought for someone who can't be flexible with their plans. Sounds like it will work okay for your family though. Hope everyone feels better soon and that you're able to reschedule in a few weeks.

WE here more and more of this all the time.

Disney needs to wake up and relise that the reservation is the most important thing to them . Without it how are people going to come and stay to spend all of their money.

I understand how Big the Big Picture is but the more they outsorce the worse it will get.

I just wanted to post my experience so others could check theirs to make sure there was no problem.

I am just glad I didn't show up tomorrow thinking I had a room and then nothing. I can't imagine if I had flown in from out of state and had NO ressie!!

As for another room, they had nothing next weekend for AKL but they could offer me something at other Deluxes but not at the rate I had at AKL.

Oh well, we're thinking of going the week of the 9th as there is Disney Dining Card with stay for FL Res.

I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, especially people who can't be flexible with their dates.

Seems that if the ressie cancelled in error, due to Disney's computers, they would offer you whatever room they had available, for the same price you originally paid. Only seems fair to me.

If you had driven or flown down and shown up to no room available at AKL, I wonder what they would have done then...they surely wouldnt throw you out on the streets.

Well, it depends. If you show up when they are fully booked, there is no where they CAN put you. You would probably be offered a room at a different resort first (if there was one available). Since hotels overbook like airlines, they are used to having to move people around. However, if you book a deluxe like AKL and all the deluxe resorts are sold out, you may be offered a moderate instead. This shouldn't happen unless it's peak season (there's usually a room somewhere on property in the same level of resort you booked - just not necessarily at a resort you're interested in staying in). I know I checked in to WL one year the day before Thanksgiving, around 4pm, and the only room they had left was an accessible room. I don't know what was going to happen to the people who got there later than I did (considering 4pm isn't that late). I can only imagine if this had happened to the OP and it was Christmas week. That's the one good thing about living close - it would be a disappointment, but I'd still have a place to go (so long as they gave me my money back!).
