Cancer is NASTY!!!! I have lost a mother to breast cancer, a grandfather to lung cancer and colon cancer(her dad), an aunt to lung cancer (my dad's sister) who also had possibly (I don't know this for sure because it was never talked about) color or breast cancer.

I used my mad/angry energy last year (since my moms death) and have volunteered at various cancer walks. That WAS GREAT HEALING!!!!!

My thoughts are with you, Kim. I lost my mom to colon cancer in January. I know how hard this is for you. There are no words that can make it easier. Just take comfort in your friends and family and let people help you however they can. You'll be okay - it will just take time. It's hard to keep it together sometimes - everything will remind you of your mom and make you want to break down crying. I just had that experience today in the middle of something that was very positive and exciting - and there I was with tears in my eyes. It's very difficult, but your life will go on and you'll learn to deal with the sadness. Just take it one little baby step at a time and let the tears flow if they need to.

You're right, though - cancer sucks!

When my FIL passed away 8yrs from cancer ago his parents were/are both still alive.
When I was only 12 I had a 10yr cousin die. That was hard.

My older brother (same brother who has a massive heart attack last May) has had breast cancer and is still on drugs for that.

I am so very sorry, KimR. You will be happy again, but you will never really get over the death of a parent or loved one..............it just gets different as time goes by.

When my Dad died, a friend told me that I would get over it. But, that wasn't true..........it is just got easier.........the pain isn't there 24/7 now...........but you never forget...........and you never stop loving them.

I am so sorry for your loss
I can't even imagine how badly you must be feeling. I lost my grandmother this past X-mas day and that was so hard. But, loosing my mother, I don't think I could take it. My DH lost his father and grandfather(whom he was extreemly close to) to cancer. FIL was 47yo. I know what you mean by lossing her so young. DH, after 11 years cries when he thinks about the fact that his children will never know them. I will be saying a prayer for you to have the strenghth to get you through this hard time.

I'm so sorry Kim. I've walked in your shoes, so to speak. Do you ever get over it? Nope. I miss my mom like crazy. Still go to the phone to call her. But, it will get easier. Love doesn't go away.

Kim,I'm so sorry. Both of my parent's have died.My mother when I was 23.She also had lung cancer.My father died when I was 46.Although he had cancer 3 years earlier,he was cured and died from several on going medical problems that were not terminal but the combination resulted in his sudden death.This was 2 1/2 years ago. I still miss them so much.Some days are easier than others.But I have many happy memories that get me through the difficult times.Hold on to all your precious memories and let them comfort you in the difficult times!Again,I'm so sorry.
