My Magical Journey to Running the Half Marathon TR Link! p.107

Hey Carissa-
Love your coin dress.. umm skirt... umm thingy! :thumbsup2
Now go get some belly dancer lessons for when your hubby gets home!!!

I can't help you with Maine B&Bs but we have been to a few around the Manchester, VT area that have been great! (near Stratton Mt.)

Last night, NBC Nightly News showed all of the East coast suffering with horrific allergies this season from all the pollen. More than ever this year. :headache: THAT I do not miss ... Living in Boston, I can remember our cars covered in the pollen. No worries about pollen in SoCal! :thumbsup2
It rained here (CT) last night and showers all morning which is helping! Having 70-90 degrees here for almost a week made all the trees, flowers, grass, etc bud at once! I don't have allergies and I've had the sniffles for a few days. Much better today though.
Come to CT!! We like to spend weekends in Mystic, it is such a cute area on the shore with lots of beautiful hotels and B&Bs. Lots to do in the area too!
Hello fellow CTian!!! I live near Waterbury. Mystic is a beautiful town with lots to do around you! Mohegan anyone? ;)

A friend of mine told me they have "shimmy" lessons on the FIT channel so I may have to check them out. ;)

That would actually be a great location! I'd love the names of them if you can remember. :thumbsup2

I'll have to ask my DW. She might remember. We have stayed at them before kids (well kid) when we had spare time and could vacation at will. :lmao:

I just did a quick search and this name sounds familiar. I think we have stayed here.
Wiley Inn

I definitely would like to do dinner at Epcot and probably somewhere in the World Showcase. The only TS I think I've done over there is Le Cellier. I'm also open to anything! :rotfl: If you had to choose one, which would it be? If I don't want to eat there, I'll tell you. ;)

I'm not as sure about MK. MK does not have my favorite eating places so I would be open to eating outside of the park for one or both of those meals.

There really isn't one restaurant that I feel strongly about eating at. There are so many great choices that I'd be happy with many different places.

Well aren't we just the easy-going pair. :hyper2: LOL

Ok, let's list out the World Showcase places:

Akershus Princess Dinner
Biergarten
Bistro De Paris
Chefs de France
Le Cellier
Nine Dragons
Restaurant Marrakesh
Rose and Crown
San Angel Inn
Teppan Edo
Tutto Italia

Did I miss any?

Should we eliminate Le Cellier since we've both been there? Also, any that you really would rather not do? That would be a start.

(this is fun!)

No, no - where do YOU want to go! :rotfl: We'll never get anything planned at this rate.

It IS fun! I agree with eliminating Le Cellier. I'm not overly excited to eat at Akershus mainly because I'd rather just enjoy a meal without interruptions. Just about all of the others I would be up for although I don't think I've heard great things about Nine Dragons and I can eat Chinese food anywhere.

What were your thoughts about MK? Did you want to eat there to make it easier? I also didn't know how tired I'm going to be after the race so I wasn't sure when I/we would be heading to the park.

Biergarten
Bistro De Paris
Chefs de France
Rose and Crown
Teppan Edo

I took off the ones you mentioned and the ones I'd rather not do.

I'm thinking I'd like to have some good beef that night. The beef protein sticks with me longer. I had a filet at Cali Grill for our pre-race meal and that worked well for me for race day. So that has me looking at Bistro, Chef's and Teppan Edo.

Assuming I feel the same way next year as this one, then I'll be ready to head out of the room right after we get ready. You'll know better how you'll feel after you are training this fall and do the long runs. I'm sure you'll be ok to head to MK, if that's what you want to do. Plenty of people head to the parks after the half.

As far as where to eat...I think I'm even more open with the meals this day than the Epcot one! It would take more time to eat out of MK, but it's certainly doable. The dinner options are definitely limited in there. And there are some great places on the Monorail. Maybe we could eat lunch in the park and dinner outside?? Or vice versa? Your turn... :)

That's what I was thinking too. I guess if we were ready to head out close to lunchtime, we could do lunch outside of the park first and then have dinner somewhere inside. Have you eaten at The Plaza?

No. I haven't eaten at any of those 5 except Biergarten in the 80's.

Okay. I'll check out the menus for Chef's and Bistro and get back to you. :thumbsup2

No I haven't. Jenny said the cheese steak is good and I love cheese steaks so it's on my list of places to try.

Cool. I think we should put that one on the list. And I looked over both menus for Chef's and Bistro. My first choice would be Chef's mainly because it's cheaper. :rotfl: Both have lots of things I'd eat so that's what it boils down to for me.

I love the bellydancing scarf! What a cool gift! :thumbsup2

Isn't it? :goodvibes

Love the coin scarf. That is very cool.

Sorry I haven't been out here much. I fool around way too much on FB. :confused3

Hey Carissa - you are right...a lot of trips to consider that is for sure!

California certainly sounds great! And LaJolla and San Diego are so close to DL and great places to visit. Sigh! I wish I was there. If you get to San Diego, don't forget to drive across to Coronado and check out the Del...the Hotel that inspired the Grand Floridian at WDW. It is just beautiful. Great little shops inside and there is a beautiful place to have a casual lunch inside.:goodvibes

A good friend is sending me some info on Southern California. I've pretty much decided the beginning of November would be a good time for that trip because my 10K will be over. I think it's hard for me to start planning when I'm not even sure we'll be able to take this trip. Having Chuck's schedule be so up in the air is difficult. I did find some cheap flights through Air Tran, but after reading about Liesa's fiasco, I'm having my doubts. I know we will do DL for a couple of days, but I really want to see the sights and take a trip down to La Jolla and/or San Diego. I need to check out some TRs from Disneyland. :thumbsup2

One TR....

Coming up SOON!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I also had a mini TR on San Diego on my last TR...I think....lol

Sorry I haven't been real good about keeping up here, but I'm just popping in and glad to see you're keeping up with your training! I've been pretty good about jogging this week, but yesterday afternoon I was dying afterwards from all of the pollen I'd sucked in. I wanted to scratch my eyeballs out. So, I may take a break today.

Jeff just sent me this article about the http://abcnews.go.com/WN/high-pollen-count-means-bad-allergies-season/story?id=10311396. Sure matches how we've been feeling!

SOOO cute!

I am loving the back and forth ADR planning you guys have going! :thumbsup2

Love the coin scarf! Let us know how the dancing lessons go.;)

Just caught up with all the gosssip-wish I was going with you guys on your trip-you sound like you're having great craic already with all the dinner plans:cool1:Just realised from your ticker that you've lost 15lbs Carissa-WOW WELL DONE:worship:
