My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Another reasonable day. I think I have the eating part under control for now. Water is good too (but it is supposed to get cold again today, so we'll see how I do :rolleyes1 ) Next will be to get the exercise under control. I was all set to walk again yesterday after shelving books at the media center when TOM showed up! Usually I get some "notice" about 12 hours beforehand. Not this time! Hopefully this will be my last big TOM though - my procedure is scheduled for 2/14, 20 days from now. :cool1:

Food:
b- 1c GoLean cereal w/ 1/3c dried cherries, 12oz skim milk, 8 oz hot cocoa
s- apple
l- 1/2 ham wholewheat sandwich, 7 baby carrots, 6 "guiltless gourmet" tortilla chips (not great, but ok)
s - forgot to bring it with me :sad2:
d- Parmesan Chicken breast, 1/2c acorn squash, 1c green beans, 1 glass wine
5 f/v
Totals: Cal: 1309, Fat: 21g, Carbs: 192g, Fiber: 29g, Protein: 84g
Water: 104oz
Exercise: 40 minutes of shelving books - counting that as 20 minutes of deep kneebends :thumbsup2 I always end up with sore quads & butt so it must be doing something good.

Amy - I was already to go to the beach yesterday, but no:mad: . I'm not going to make 43 by my 43 birthday, but I am feeling like 43 in my 43rd year is doable. :thumbsup2

AmyM - GoLean is sort of like eating "prefab twigs." Isn't it crazy the traveling for meetings? I had to step in last minute for a meeting in the UK once. Found out the day before, flew in on a Thursday afternoon, had the meeting Friday morning and flew out Friday afternoon. I wasn't even "in country" for 24 hrs. This was pre-kids obviously. At least this will be a short trip for you. DH and the kids can't create too much caous in 48 hrs hopefully? :rotfl:

You are doing a great job, Anna!:thumbsup2 Sorry to hear about TOM's unexpected visit.... :( TOM has been around for two weeks for me.... Can we kick TOM to the curb?:rotfl:

Hope you have a great weekend!:cool1:

Doesn't it feel fantastic to have your eating under control? :cool1: The exercise will follow, don't worry. :wizard:

You'd think will all the new technology there would be more video conferencing, but no one around here likes to do them. Oh well, if they want to pay for me to travel to Europe, I'm not going to complain too much, just collect the FF miles and dream about where I'll fly with them!!

Keep it up, you are doing great. I know you'll meet your goal this year! :)

Hi Anna,

I am really impressed with your water intake.:thumbsup2 When it is very, very cold as it here, I have a hard time drinking water. I think it really makes a difference though, especially with your skin!!

I hope the weather gets better so you can do your walk on the beach...wow, that sounds like heaven! :cloud9: We have many, many more months before we can do that!

Sounds like you're getting right back in the swing of things, Anna!

I'm another Crunch lover! I mix mine into ff yogurt. I'm now into modified Twigs, tho, as I've discovered Fiber One is a good crunch and no points on WW.

Have a great weekend! Hope you get in that walk on the beach!

Hey Anna~
Your food looks great!! Your exercise is looking good too!!
Keep up the good work!!

I had several temptations today, but managed to get through the day without too much damage. DD's made chocolate chip pancakes for themselves this morning. I did eat about 2tsp of morsels :sad2: (TOM --> needed sugar/chocolate). After spending 2 hours at school passing out books to kids who had finished the reading program (bedlam:scared1: !), there were cookies in the teachers lounge. I didn't even glance at them :) . Then DD's had a club swim meet in the afternoon and then the team goes out for pizza afterward. I planned ahead on my eating for the day and looked up the nutrtional info ahead of time. I knew I could have 1 slice of Artisan pepperoni pizza (yum!). The did forget my waterbottle so I ended up having a small rootbeer (more sugar craving) and 200 calories I didn't need:sad2: ). Overall though, not a bad day!

Food:
b-1c GOLean Cereal, 1/2 banana, 12oz skim milk, 2t chocolate chips
s- apple, LF babybel cheese
l- 2/3 parmesan chicken breast (couldn't finish it. I was full!), 1.5c green beans
s- FF pudding cup
d- 1 slice pizza, 2c salad (lettuce, lots of tomato, sprinkle cheese, 1T egg white, 1T FF dressing)
4 f/v
Totals: Cal:1463, Fat: 37g, Carbs: 217g, Fiber: 21g, Protein: 81g)
45oz water :confused3

Tracy, Julie, Marie - thanks for the encouragement :thumbsup2
Fab5 - I definitely have trouble drinking water when it is colder. I really have to force myself. Sometimes I drink hot water w/ lemon.
Amy - I've asked DH this many times before, but "face to face" is better I guess.:confused3 And yes, he can just keep racking up those FF miles! :) Those are my reward for him being gone.

Hi Anna
Your food looks really good :)
Well done for resisting temptation & planning ahead, thats great organising! :)
You go girl!!
Your having your procedure on valentines day!! At least we wont forget ;)

Hi, Anna! Thank you so much for visiting my journal and providing so much encouragement. I really appreciate it!

I know this is old news, but I’m sorry about the stress surrounding the PTA newsletter. It’s a shame you can’t hand the newsletter off to someone else to get copied after you’ve done all the work of compiling it. And to dread it each month just makes it that much worse! Congratulations on not heading out for a margarita after that experience!
How are things with DD11? I noticed DS13 is very moody lately and has developed an out of control sweet tooth. Puberty is definitely here! So glad his sister is off at college or I am sure they’d be bickering all the time!
Glad to see you have your eating under control and hopefully, the desire to walk on the beach is strong enough to make fitting in some activity that much easier!

Keep up the great work and have an awesome weekend!

That is awesome that you looked up your dinner before you went out! No surprises that way. And even with the rootbeer, your totals were perfectly acceptable, way to go!!!!

It has finally warmed up here during the day, but the nights are still SO cold! There is about a 30 degree difference between night and day. All our plants look like :scared: , it's been a really tough winter!

It's great to see you back in the game, keep it up! :thumbsup2

Made it through a weekend day without too much damage, mostly watching portion size. DH made stirfry for dinner - very tasty & low calorie. My calories were a little low and my fiber was very low, but I wasn't hungry and nothing sounded appealing to fill in. Today I'm taking DD3, DD11 and DD11's friend to DL for the afternoon  so I know my calories will be higher! We are meeting some friends with their 3 year olds to play and then we'll go do "big kid" rides for a couple of hours. I love our AP's!

b- scrambled egg, small sausage link, banana, 12oz skim milk (I passed up the Krispy Kreme's DH had bought! )
l - small slice of artisan pepperoni pizza, 2c salad w/ 1T cilantro dressing
s- apple
d-1c stirfry w/ .5c chicken, .25c rice, 12oz skim milk
4 f/v
Totals: Cal: 1088, Fat: 30g, Carb: 135g, Fiber: 12g, Protein: 73g
Water: 100 oz

Amy - It definitely helped to know ahead of time, what I could eat. The pizza was good too. Same here on the weather -decent during the day, but as soon as the sun goes down - brr!

Cam - I've been trying to hand off the whole newsletter all year, but so far no takers.:sad2: With two preadolescents and a preschooler, it is no wonder I am little goofy at the end of the day. The beach walks really do help though. I just need to better about making time for myself. (I'm not very good at that...)

Way to go resisting Krispy Kremes. I don't have to worry about that temptation anymore, they closed all their stores in AZ! I thought they went bankrupt or something...

I bet you are having a blast at DL today! Maybe when I'm in Irvine the people from the UK will want to go there in the evening, since it's not too far away.

Way to go resisting those Krispy Kremes, Anna!:thumbsup2 Sometimes I can resist them and sometimes I can't. Great job!:cool1:

Hope you had a great time at DL today!:goodvibes Have a great week!

Hey Anna, I hope you had fun at Disneyland yesterday! I really envy you getting to go up there for the day while I am here in Winter Hell. I love AP's too, we have had them a couple of years now since even going for six days makes them pay for themselves. At least even if you splurged a bit you got a ton of walking in. I hope you rode Screamin, TOT and Space for me!

Great job with your food, esp. planning ahead of time with the pizza night. It takes some determination to do that type of planning, you are really doing well. And 43 in your 43rd year sounds like a winner to me!

We had a great time at DL on Sunday  . It was crowded, but doable with Fastpasses. DD11 and her friend gave the new "rockin'" space mountain two thumbs up.:thumbsup2 . I'll count 60 minutes exercise for the 7 hours we were there. I did ok eating wise. I had a grilled veggie sandwich for lunch (not low fat, but tasty) and a rice kirspy mickey & a pineapple spear as treats. Monday I stayed on track, but I was hungry a lot of the afternoon. I think my body wanted a sweet treat again.:( It was restaurant night for school at El Torito. This are good fundraisers for school (they get a cut of the evening's take), but it is crazy busy. Now I just order takeout - school gets the credit and I don't have to spend hours in a restaurant with hungry kids. Added bonus is I don't order a drink and munch mindlessly on chips & salsa. I haven't entered the last two days into Fitday so I don't know the totals. The great news is WI Monday morning was 162.0 - a 2 lb loss!! Finally, the scale is headed down. I was beginning to think 164 was painted onto the scale face.

Sunday:
b-2 pancakes, 1T blueberry syrup, sprinkle of blueberries, scrambled egg, 12oz skim milk
l -grilled veggie sandwich, 3 bites coleslaw
s- pineapple spear
s- rice krispy mickey (plain)
d- 4 chips w/ guacamole (mindless nibbling after we got home :confused3 )
water: 60 oz?
2 f/v
exercise: 7 hours at DL --. 60 minutes

Monday:
b- 1c GoLean cereal, 1/3c dried cherries, 12oz skim milk
s- apple
l- 1/2 wholewhear ham sandwich, 7 baby carrots, 1/2 apple
s- 20 pretzels, LF LC wedge
d- El Torito: steak & chicken fajitas - just ate the meat & veggie parts, sweet corn cake, 4 chips
4 f/v
water: 80 oz

AmyM - We still have stores here and our grocery store has them :( DL was fun. You should definitely talk your UK co-workers into a DL trip. They have completely changed Space Mountain for the spring with a new soundtrack and effects. DD11 said it was fun.

Tracy - I'm the same way. Sometimes I can resist, sometimes I can't. I love doughnuts!

Amy - The AP's are great. I don't feel like I have to do everything and we can enjoy the little stuff like feeding the ducks. We didn't make it over to DCA this time so no Screamin' or TOT. DD11 and friend rode Space and said it was great. I hung out with DD3. I need to do a trip w/o DD3 so I can do the rides.

Yay Anna congratulations on the 2lb loss :goodvibes
I'm glad you had a great day at DL :)
Food looks good

Congrats on 2lb GONE!!!

DL sounds like so much fun! And you did VERY well on food!

Making time for yourself is one of the hardest things about being a mom, I think! Try, though as it really is good for you.

Have a great rest of the week! And go walk the beach for me!:rotfl:

Yay on the loss!!!!! You are almost in the 150's!!!

You did really good the past couple days, especially given all the temptations.

Last time we were at DL Space Mountain was closed for refurbishing. We might go this summer, but it depends on my work travel.

You are doing so good, keep it up!!! :thumbsup2

Wow Anna way to go with that 2 pound loss! The 150's are so very near :cool1: ! Sounds like you had a fun day at DL and got some exercise in. Where did you get the grilled veggie sandwich there? You are really back in your groove and the scale is showing it. Keep up your hard work! I miss El Torito, we used to have them here. Do you know where the nearest one to DL is? Maybe dh and I can eat there in June. Typical of me, planning my meals 5 months in advance. Hey, when is your cruise, you are bathing suit ready with this slimmer you!
