My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

All this weather talk is making me want to book a trip to WDW right NOW! :thumbsup2 Too bad my bank account can't agree! Congrats to your DD!

You must be getting so excited about your trip! When do you leave? I'll be living vicariously through you when you get back, so please give us all the details!

Congrats on getting back on track. I bet that weight gain will be shortlived since you're back to making your healthy choices. I'm trying to do the same after my disastrous superbowl food day. Have a fabulous weekend!

Hi Anna,

I'm another who is jealous of your nice weather!

Keep up the good work, and the scale will continue to go down.

Enjoy the weekend!:goodvibes

It seems I do not have enough hours in the day when DH is out of town :confused3 . I didn't make it to the grocery store this week until 8pm thursday night. I was pretty proud of myself though making up healthy meals from the pantry and the freezer. I am eating well and drinking lots of water, but no exercise - and the weather has even been good too! :(

On top of DH being gone this week, I also had the PTA newsletter to do and it was the end of the reading program at school with lots of paperwork involved. I spent 5 hours Thursday afternoon trying to straighten out someone else's paperwork mess:scared1: .

That is all done now though  . The weekend plans are :laundy: - mountains to wash and more mountains to fold and clean up my office (it is a truly scary paper disaster right now:scared1: ). I should also work on the paperwork for the taxes, but I don't think that is going to happen. I also need to make ridiculously detailed instructions and maps for my MIL. She will be here Wednesday and Thursday taking care of the kids while I am out of commission. Maybe after spending two days in my shoes (or more accurately, my driver seat!) she will have just a little appreciation of how I spend my days. :confused3

For all of you who have such truly awful weather (can't find the cold smilie?) Here is some :sunny: It has been truly wonderful this week. It is supposed to rain maybe on sunday, and again late next week, but I think the cold has finally given up on us (at least I hope so!) I hope it starts to warm up around the rest of country, and across the pond too!

Amy - No we are not doing the Mexican Riviera cruise. DH is "been there, done that" and would rather spend our vacation $$$ on something new. I did book the May Panama Canal cruise however  . I don't know if we will actually go or not:confused3 . School will be the deciding factor. It is just something we have both always wanted to do (appeals to the engi - nerd in us!) and it would be such a neat experience for the kids too. We'll see.... In the meantime, the price for the Med repo has dropped again! I still really want to take that cruise  . I have threatened DH to leave him here for his darn conference and take the kids instead (yay, that's being realistic :rotfl2: )

 Anna,

Sounds like you have had a whirlwind of a week. I know you have a lot to do this weekend, but I hope you are able to find some Anna time.:goodvibes

Have a great weekend!:cool1:

I really would love to take either of the cruises you mentioned, but I just can't justify taking the kids out of school. Guess I'm just old-fashioned that way!

I think you will be really surprised at how well you feel on Thursday. You can probably send your MIL home early!! :wizard:

Great job eating healthy during all the recent turmoil. The exercise will soon follow.

I'm actually making a daily post - yay! Yesterday was good. I got my office CLEAN! I started working on it around 5 and finished around dinner time. I never even got out of my pajama's:rotfl2: ! DH had kid & kitchen duty while I tried to get the office under control. It is raining now so it looks like I'll have to get started on the MIL instructions. DD3 has a cold so DH took the older two to church this morning. I'm supposed to be working on the above mentioned MIL stuff, but am sneaking a little DIS time in :rolleyes1 . DH and I are supposed to go out to dinner tonight for an early Valentine's dinner, but DD3 being sick may kabosh that idea. She is a BEAR when her nose is stuffed up and I don't like to ask DD12 to babysit under those circumstances.

I need to rotate the laundry, so I'll make this quick.

B - 3 pancakes, 1/3c blueberries, 1T maple syrup, scrambled egg, 12oz skim milk
L- 1/3c BBQ beef, 2 clementine oranges, 10 mini pretzels
D- Salad: spinach, turkey, ham, egg, 1T cheddar cheese, tomato, avacado, green onions, 1T cilantro dressing, 1/2 DH's drink (lemonade & vanilla vodka, I think - yum!), 2 slices bread & butter (didn't need that:sad2: )
S- 1 mango mochi ball (tofu ice cream thing)
104 oz water!

I'm going to get to journals today. Sorry I have been so lax in that department.:sad2:

Tracy - not a lot of me time this weekend, but I figure I'll get quite a bit on Thursday.:)

Amy - I'm hoping/planning on feeling fine on Thursday. I'm lookingforward to having some time to do stuff for me, actually. However, I need MIL to do all of the various driving for me since I'm not supposed to drive.

Both my parents are teachers and it has always been blasphemous to think about taking the kids out of school. Generally, I wouldn't even consider it. So no, we probably won't take either trip, but I had to put a deposit down on the PC trip just in case. There is some educational value to the Panama Canal trip, but I doubt the middle school would see it that way. Interestingly, the two times we have taken the kids out of school it was at their teachers and my parents urging :confused3 . The first time was to accompany DH on a business trip to Italy. It mostly overlapped with their 2 week spring break, but we did have to leave two days early to catch up with DH in NY - I was not flying to Europe with a 9 year old, 8 year old and 9 month old by myself! :scared1: . The second time was a family emergency and I spent 3 weeks with DSIL and Dbro. Again it was over 2 week spring break and then the kids had Independent Study contracts for the third week. That was elementary school though. Middle school is different.

Hi Anna
Glad you got all those jobs done!!!
Hope you had time left to relax :)
Whats happening Thursday? Sorry if you've said but my memory is terrible :(
Hope DD3 is gets better soon!
I defianatly think a the 2 week panama cruise would be educational!!!!

Your wallet episode sounds SO MUCH llike something I'd do! Glad you were able to get it back!

Hope you have a good week this week! I'll check back when I return from FL or maybe before!

Hi Anna, you have been busy! Good job makig those healthy meals out what you had on hand. Its always too easy to just grab fast food or eat junk and you didn't! It is always a tough call to pull the kids out of school. I did it twice, it was hard to justify a week but I did. I couldn't do it again though, my dd in particular just can't miss school. Although I am planning on pulling them for one day in October to fly out to WDW. It was all I could get using ff miles. But no longer than that. But a PC Cruise is a once in a lifetime thing, that is pretty tempting! At least you don't have to decide right away.

Keep up the good work, exercise will fall back into place. Its tough when your dh is out of town so much. If you can only do one part of the equation, food is the better choice. So good for you!

We did end up gong out to dinner Sunday night :cloud9: . DH changed our reservations to 8:15pm. I put DD3 to bed at 7pm. That way DD12 didn't have to deal with Miss Cranky and we had a really nice pre-valentine dinner:cloud9: . We went to a local place that reminds me a lot of Roy's. Definitely qualified as a "cheat" meal but worth it. We shared chicken & shrimp potstickers as an appetizer and then I had a fabulous filet tenderloin. I ate all my creamed spinach and about a third of the au gratin potato casserole. I also had two rolls and a large glass of wine. For dessert I had a white chocolate creme brulee and ate every last bite! :rotfl2: Needless to say WI Monday morning was 163.5. I'm not too worried about it though since the scale has been a solid 162.0 for the three days prior.

Monday was the usual and doing lots of stuff getting ready to be out of commission for a day or two along. Today will be much of the same. I have been drinking +100oz water/day since Saturday to make sure I am fully hydrated. Maybe, just maybe, it will help the doc find one of my teeny tiny veins tomorrow for the IV :scared1: .

b- Special K w/ 1/3c dried cherries, 12oz skim milk
l- 1/2 wholewheat turkey sandwich, and fruit (can't remember what:confused3 )
s- 20 pretzels, apple
d- spinach salad w/ mango & spiced pecans ( I made a mac & cheese casserole for the rest of the family, but stuck to salad myself. The salad is really good!)
104 oz water

tracey - I am having an edometrial ablation on Wednesday - remove the uterine lining = remove the heavy periods:banana: . It is a quick outpatient surgery. I'll be out of commission on Wednesday and then still can't drive on Thursday (but will hopefully feel fine!). I need someone to be "me" for two days. My MIL was not my first (or second or third) choice, but I need someone to take care of/drive the kids. DH is taking the day off on Wednesday to take care of/drive me.

Julie - I felt dumb with the wallet, but not surprised that I'd done something that dumb - oh well! Have a great trip to FL!

Amy - We will very likely not make the final decision until the very last minute. The first semester ends at the end of January and I think final payment will be due Feb. 10. If either DD has had trouble in classes in the Fall term, we will not take the trip. Yes, I would love to take the trip, but not if the kids are struggling. Even with the kids doing their HW during the cruise, taking the trip very well may lower their grades, but I'm ok with that as long as I'm comfortable that they know & understand the material and simply got lower grades for turning it in "late". IF I don't think they can do that, then I don't think we'll take the trip.

That's wonderful that you got your pre-Valentine's dinner in! How is your DD feeling?

Sending you lots of prayers and :wizard: for your surgery tomorrow. Please be sure and take it easy and let your MIL do the rest.:goodvibes

I bet you are getting excited about tomorrow (I know I was!). Don't worry about the IV. It'll be done and over with in less than 30 seconds! :wizard:

That salad sounds yummy, do you make the spiced pecans or buy them?

Hi Anna
The meal sounded lovely, glad you enjoyed yourself
Good luck for tomorrow, i will be curious to find out how it went as that is a procedure i could have had done if TOM problems get worse!
Take good care of yourself

Hi Anna, good luck with your procedure tomorrow. It sounds like you had a good, well deserved night out with dh, I am so glad you enjoyed it! And if you think at all that your girls can miss school without getting too behind, do it! I still don't regret it for last September and would do it again. Its not like this is something you do often. If I thought dd could recover, I would since going in September saved us so much money! Don't worry about the scale, that sounds like a post yummy dinner thing that is likely already off! Take care!

I got all of the MIL notes done along with distribution instructions for the PTA newsletter (supposed to go into the teachers boxes today - got someone else to do this for me.) Laundry is just about done and DH went to the grocery store for me last night. I had drank 64 oz of water before 11am and another 64 ozs by 6pm. I had another 2-4 big glasses after that (and yes, I was up multiple times to go potty:rotfl2: ) so I am as hydrated as I can possibly be. Food yesterday was good until abotu 9:15pm. DH came home from the grocery store with a box of Krispy Kreme "I thought you would need a treat in the morning," he says. "Uhm, I can't eat or drink anything after midnight dear...." "Oh." He looked so crushed. Then I decided that I would have an early treat and proceeded to eat two donuts and 3 milano cookies and two glasses of milk at 10pm! oops, went a little overboard.

Need to get DD's off to school. I'll try and get back later this morning, if I can. Otherwise, it will be sometime tomorrow. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!

Anna

I don't think you'll have any problem with the IV now, you'll be all bloated from the donuts!!! :lmao:

Here's some PD for all to go well today. :wizard: :wizard: Can't wait to hear how it goes.

Hi Anna,

Good luck to you. I hope everything goes well and you are back to you in no time!!!

Glad to hear that you and DH were able to make it to dinner on Sunday dispite the little one being sick. Hope she gets to feeling better soon

Way to go on making healthy choices.

Keep up the good work! You are doing great :)

Donuts and milanos, atta girl! I always say if you are going to have a blackmarket moment with food, make it something good! Hope everything went well today!

I hope all went well and you are relaxing and letting your MIL take care of everything! :goodvibes
