My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Your eating was AWESOME! Great job resisting all those goodies and drinking water instead of snacking. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Don't worry about not posting, you are entertaining guests! We'll all be here for you whenever you get a chance to report how things are going. I'm sure now that you are in the 160's you will be extra diligent about watching your intake so you don't creep back up.

Well, I'm off to drug myself so I can go to the dentist. Have a great weekend! :cool1:

Hi Anna~

It sounds like you have been super busy! I hope you get a chance to relax soon.... :cloud9:

Congratulations to your DH on his new job! :jumping1: I hope that the transition goes smoothly for everyone. :goodvibes

Congratulations to you too, Anna for being in the 160s!!!! That is wonderful! :cheer2:

Have a wonderful Sunday! Happy Father's Day to your DH! :sunny:

Wow, Anna! You've been so busy, had guests, and you're STILL doing AWESOME!!

Hope you're having a great weekend!!

Ok, so last night was pretty much of a free for all. We had some other neighbors over for drinks and BBQ with our houseguests. Pretty much ate and drank non-stop from 4:30-9:30p :sad2: If I keep this up I will be as big as a house when the last guests leave!

Food:
9:00a - scrambled egg, sausage, 1/2 grapefruit, 1/2c mango, 12oz skim milk
1:15p - 1/2 turkey & cheese sandwich on wholewheat w/ avacado, 1 serving pita chips, 1 plum
4:30-9:30p - many shrimp, lots of cream cheese dip thing w/ crackers, 4 sesame chicken wings, 1/2 chicken breast, 1 serving potato salad, 1 serving spinach salad w/ mango & candied walnuts, many margarita's
Resisted (before 4:30p): croissant w/ breakfast, eating all the candied walnuts before they went in the salad
(after 4:30p): Nothing!

Water: +128oz - I stopped counting after I emptied my 64oz jug the second time.

Exercise: none. :sad2: If I am going to drink and eat like this, I darn well better get my rear moving and walk!

Anna

I hope the dentist went well. Amy.
Thanks everyone for your encouragement and wishes. I'll try and get to journals soon.

OK, sounds like you got your bad day behind you. How did you feel after eating all that stuff (which sounds yummy by the way!)? If you felt stuffed and yucky, try to remember that the next time you are surrounded by goodies. Sometimes that helps me - but sometimes it doesn't and you just have to get back on track the next day!

How did you do yesterday?

Hi Anna,

You sound like a very busy woman with all those people...whew!!! Good for you for doing it though!

You have your bad day behind you now, now you can refocus on today!!! It's hard but you can do it. I know you can!

Keep up the good work and have a wonderful Monday :)

I know where your coming from on the barbi!! I did exactly the same thing last night :)
Things sound very hectic for you, i hope it will calm down a bit for you soon :)

Eating on Sunday was no better, but at least I wasn't drinking like a fish. Monday was back in control. Sunday was pretty lowkey hanging out by the pool. It is DD's 3rd birthday, so we had a cake, but no other stuff. We are celebrating this weekend when my family is here. This is probably the last year we can get away with moving her birthday around before she actually starts to figure it out. :rotfl2: With the houseguests, etc. DH really got the short end of the stick for Father's Day. I told him he could have a "do over" weekend sometime in July. On Monday, DH was back to work and my kids were back in school (3 more days!). Planned on going to the beach (and getting a nice walk in!) but everyone just didn't want to get that motivated so another low key pool day w/ houseguests. I did much better resisting the food at least. No dip on my veggies, and only 3 potato chips. First round of houseguests left midafternoon. My DM arrived about the same time. My DB's family had to change their flights from Monday to Wednesday. Dnephew starting throwing up Sunday -- really glad that started Sunday and not Monday when they would have already been here!

Sunday

b - 3 pancakes w/ blueberries & maple syrup, 3 slices bacon, 1/2c blackberries & strawberries, 1/2c hot chocolate

s - way too much spinach dip & bread
d - hot dog, 1 serving pita chips, small slice pineapple upsidedown cake, 2 bites ice cream, 12 oz skim milk
Totals (approx): Cal: 2889, Fat: 141g, Carb: 292g, Fiber: 20g, Protein: 96g

Water: +100 oz

Exercise: swam laps for 20 minutes

Monday

s - 1 grapefruit
l - broccoli, tomatoes, carrots, 3 potato chips & dip
s - 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 bites pineapple upside down cake

Water: 104oz

Exercise: none (again!)

Amy, unfortunately I didn't feel stuffed and yucky. The margaritas washed it all down nicely. :rotfl2: I know I am going to be eating more while my various guests are here, I had just hoped that keeping up the exercise would counteract some of the eating. The exercise is just didn't happen this weekend though. :sad2:

Jamie, thanks for your encouragement. I definitely need to stay focused. Yesterday was better.

Tracey, hectic, definitely. Calm down? I think there is an opening mid July sometime ... :rotfl2: I love having visitors, usually they don't come all at once though!

Hi Anna,

You are one busy woman! :faint: I think you are doing a great job with everything that is going on around you. :thumbsup2 Remember, each day is brand new... a clean slate. If you slip-up one day, you can forget about it the next day and start all over again! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful week! :sunny:

WOW, that is the first time I've seen triple digit fat grams! :lmao: I think that is some kind of record! :rotfl:

I wouldn't worry about overdoing it for a week or two. You can always get back on track when everyone leaves. Sounds like you had a better day yesterday, so that is great! :cheer2: Just do what you can do, but most importantly - ENJOY YOURSELF! :thumbsup2

Wow Anna....busy woman....houseguests....pool parties....marguritas.....
I have got to be better about checking in around here!!
I don't know how you do it with all the houseguests!! 2 or 3 days is my limit...pretty much for the year!!! My stress level doesn't do well....but of course, you have the pool and the drinks to even it out!! :thumbsup2

Stay strong on your exercise.....tell the guests you're going walking, and they can join you, or you will be back in 20,30,60,90,120 minutes. Get it in, regardless!! You'll feel better about the eating!!

Have a great week!!

Jane, hurricane was good! I hadn't had one in many, many years. Good thing I had the houseguests coming in later that night or I would have had more hurricanes! :blush: Hurricanes and wine really improve a PTA board meeting. Do ya think we could have them at our regular 8am monthly meetings? :rotfl2: Guess not .... :rotfl:
:rotfl: :rotfl:
You better watch out, they'll be electing you PTA President with ideas like that! At least around here they would.

Notice how far back I had to go to catch up with the posts? Whew! A working weekend and a broken computer really set me back on my internet time this week.

You know how to do a fun summer! Enjoy your houseguests and have a great time! Have a margarita for me!

I have about 40 minutes before leaving for the airport to pick up my Dbro family so I thought I would try and do an update.
Tuesday After taking DH his laptop computer (he forgot it! No I will not meet you outside the fair - you start driving from work, I'll meet you half way before I take the kids to school! :crazy: ) I went with DD12 and the rest of the 6th grade to the county fair. They had grown plants as fair entries and also entered some artwork. After the judging, they were free to explore everywhere except the rides and the arcade and they had to stay with a chaperone. At one point one of the 4 girls I was chaperoning asked "why do the teachers let us just run free at the fair?" I answered "because they don't know what else to do with you." The kids mentally checked out a couple of weeks ago and the teachers haven't even tried to do anything academic. We did have fun at the fair. Saw lots of animals, the pig races, a silly dog show and one of my kids took third place in the bubblegum blowing contest. :rotfl2: With the fair comes food. I had three bites of DD12's funnel cake, and 6 fresh, hot mini donuts (you watch them being made - sooo good!). I had brought a yogurt for lunch. I passed up so many goodies only to sucumb to the temptations of chips & fresh salsa before dinner. :sad2:
Wednesday - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - finally! This morning was 6th grade promotion ceremony. Really nice and well done. DD12 played the piano while people were finding seats. DD10 passed out programs and then changed and went to her own class party. She could have stayed to watch promotion, but decided not to (Let's see, listen to a bunch of speeches and watch your sister get all the attention OR go to her own class "beach" party on the field? Ummmm, not really a hard choice!) In the afternoon, Dmom and I got the guest room ready for my Dbro's family and got DD3's room ready for Dmom & Ddad. (DD3 will sleep in our room for the next 4 nights.) For dinner DD12 wanted to go to Benihana's. After dinner, Dmom went to the airport to pick up Ddad. My Dbro's family had to change their flights so instead of arriving around the same time, they arrive 3 hours later. Originally, Dmom & Ddad were just going to hang out and wait at the airport, but my brother called to say that we would need my minivan for the luggage (yikes!). They have a 7 year old and a 7 mo. old and my DSIL does not understand the concept of "travel light".

Oh and did I mention that in the middle of all this, yesterday my washer decides it doesn't want to drain? Repair guy coming out tomorrow morning. Hopefully it is a quick fix or I am in big trouble! :laundy:

TUESDAY
Food:
b - wholewheat toast w/ pb, 12 oz skim milk
s - 3 bites funnel cake
l - 6 oz FF lemon yogurt, 6 mini donuts
s - 1/2c FF cottage cheese, 100 cal pack cookie crisps
6p - chips & salsa, 1/2 beer
6:30p - chicken breast, 1/2c broccoli, 1/2c rice

Water: 100 oz (barely - didn't drink a lot at the fair since potty choices were not the best!)

Exercise: walked around the fair for 4.5 hours, so I am taking that as at least 60 minutes of good exercise.

WEDNESDAY
Food - I honestly don't remember what I have had to eat today :confused3 I know I skipped breakfast, DD3 fed me 3 small big bird crackers during promotion, and I had 1 donut hole at the reception afterward. Somewhere I had a slice of cheese and a yogurt? At Benihana I had the chicken & steak combo - finished the chicken and a couple of bites of steak - two bites of ice cream.

Water: I WILL finish 100 oz! I have about 15 oz's to go but still two hours before I have a prayer of going to bed.

Exercise: does stress count?

Anna

editted: so apparently it didn't post when I left for the airport! At least it didn't disappear. Nite all!

Tracy, Thanks for the encouragement. I need it right now. I'm not slipping up once in awhile though, more like once every single day. :rotfl2:

Amy, the fat # was scary. It was the mayo and sour cream in the potato salad and the spinach dip that really did me in. Of course, the regular hot dog, pancakes, bacon and cake helped too! :rotfl2: I'm still not eating what I should, but at least the qty is down. No time to eat much of anything yesterday.

Tracey, I need to eat lots more lettuce and stop putting all sorts of other stuff on top of the lettuce. :rotfl:

Marie, I don't generally mind the houseguests (my family, not his!) and yes, the pool and the drinks definitely help - the pool to entertain everyone else, the drinks to keep me sane! :crazy: I think I might actually get a walk in today, we'll see.

Jane, Oh no! No PTA president job for me - much too much work!!! :rotfl: It will be a fun summer, but not quite the relax/veg one I had envisioned when we intially decided to not take a big vacation and stay home.

Thanks everyone for stopping by. I'm gonna try and read a few journals now before anyone else wakes up. :rolleyes1

Yikes, you are going to need a vacation after all your visitors are gone! You did remarkably well at the fair, yay for bringing yogurt!

You are doing great keeping your portions in check. That will help you more than you realize! I hope you are able to get some walking in while everyone is visiting!

Hang in there, it'll calm down soon!

Glad school's finally over!!! You must be relieved. YOur posts are wearing me out just reading them. You are super busy. Have fun with your brothers' family's visit. Guess you'll be needing more margaritas by the pool.

A reasonably calm day finally. Took DD3 for her 3 year old check up first thing this morning. Kid is a peanut - 3% for weight - and that is an increase from before when she wasn't even on the chart! Otherwise she is great! When I got home from Dr's I got the news that my 3yr old washer needs a new drain pump :furious: At least the guy had one on his truck and I can do laundry again! :laundy: Played with my niece (7 mos) and nephew (almost 7 yrs) and ran a couple of errands (sometimes I need to run away and be by myself for a little bit! :blush: ) Dmom & Ddad took my older two for the afternoon and to dinner. DSIL brought many yummies from Hawaii (they live there! :sunny: ) so the temptations are plentiful - 1/4c of macadamia nuts has 21 fat grams! :scared1: The semi good news is the scale is holding steady at 170 so far and my pants are sort of loose today.

Food:
7:30a - 6 oz FF yogurt
10:30a - 3/4c fruit (cantaloupe, blueberries, grapes), 12oz skim milk
1:30p - (leftover Benihana) 1/4c chicken, 1/2c steak, 1/2c zucchini & onions, 3 bites pineapple upside down cake
4p - 1/4c honey roasted macadamia nuts, 1 chocolate toffee macadamia nut
7:15p - 3/4c wokked teriyaki chicken w/ broccoli & green onions, 2/3c rice, 1 mai tai
Resisted: lots more mac nuts, wasabi peanuts
Totals: Cal - 1837, Fat: 46g, Carb: 217g, Fiber: 8g, Protein: 93g

Water - 104 oz

Exercise - none again!!!

Anna
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy, portion control is the only thing I have right now even if it is not great food. I keep thinking I'll walk in the evening with DSIL or Ddad or even DH, but it just isn't happening. I think tomorrow morning I am going to just go ahead and walk by myself first thing in the morning before anyone gets up. I have got to walk or I have no prayer of making the exercise challenge this month!
Jane, today we switched to Mai Tai's - Dbro lives in hawaii so we needed a new drink :rotfl2:
Hi Anna,
So, how is everything going with your houseguests? it sounds like you are busy, but having a good time. I think that is great that you are maintaining your weight. :thumbsup2 I bet once everything settles down and you are back into a routine, the scale will be ready to cooperate! ::yes::
Hope you have a great weekend! :sunny:
That is awesome that you are maintaining your weight! :yay: :yay: :yay:
Did you get your walk in this morning?
I love Mai Tai's. Who am I kidding, I love any drink that could have an umbrella in it... :rolleyes:
Me and macadamia nuts don't play well together. I had to stop making my beloved macadamia crusted mahi mahi because I couldn't control myself with the leftover macadamia nuts! That is great that you only ate a regular human amount of them and resisted overindulging! :banana:
Sounds like you are having a blast! party:
