I started noticing that I disconnect about once an hour. I noticed it by accident at first, and now I watch for it - if I get on at noon I will get disconnected right around 1pm. I was mentioning this to some people, and turns out not too many people knew about it.

Just thought I'd post it here, to let you guys know and see if you noticed something similar. I've started watching the clock, and if it's coming up on a disconnect I warn the people I'm with that it's time and I'll be right back. Sure enough within a few minutes I'm outta there.

It's 45 minutes on the dot for me. It started on the Sunday of the maze event and is still happening. I just keep my eye on the clock and log in again before :)

I second the 45 minute theory LOL. you can set your watch by it!

For me it depends what I'm doing. If I'm wondering around frequently, I'll stay connected a long time. If I am chatting in a room and don't move, then yes seems like an hour.

Exactly!

Last night I (er, should I say my character) spent about 45 min. just dancing will I was talking on the phone and I didn't get connected.

However, I do get disconnected each hour if I'm chatting it up!

i have been noticing that too. Every Hour i dread because it always happen when i play a game and doing very well too i get the boot. At first, i thought i was seeing things but i think it is true, like an hour time limit on vmk. Maybe they don't want kids to stay and get hooked on it for hours at a time. Well i guess this what they have to make vmk kid safe!

I have recently noticed the hour thing too. The other day I was getting the disconnect at the top of every hour. The next day it was on the half hour. It also seems to depend on my activity level. If I am running around and interacting with a bunch of people, I can stay on longer. :confused3

Thanks for the heads-up on this. I had not noticed a pattern, but will watch for it now. I have long wondered why disconnects were still a problem.

You computer-types can correct me, but I would think that the amount of connected users would put a varying load on their servers (or whatever it's called that gets strained). Perhaps we are disconnected such as we are to keep people from going to their "afk rooms" for hours on end. (I know I would do that if I could just to keep from having to log in again.)

Yup, I've noticed this too (way before the maze event). I always lose connection about an hour of VMK play, and it doesn't really matter whether I'm chatting, nedding, or just sitting....

I'm guessing that this is programmed into VMK to help kids (and adults) keep track of passing time? We all know how easily it is to spend 4-5 hours on the computer when thinking we were only on for a "little while"..... It's like a little reminder from VMK "okay, you've been on for an hour, time to get off and do something else for a while." :confused3

Count me in as well. I never looked that closely (ie 45 minutes or 1 hour), but I do get the dreaded disconnect notice quite frequently throughout the day. I always figured, it was a sign that I really should be *working* instead of playing, LOL

;)

When Im chatting on my slow computer I get 35 minutes.Nedding on my slow computer gets me 15 minutes of nedding. On my fast computer I can chat or ned for about 1 hour.

Roughly around an hour for me. I keep meaning to actually time it to see if it is an exact number or a random time between 45 and 60 minutes. I really noticed it during the mazes, since it took 45-50 minutes just to get in.

I have noticed this as well, yet it only seems to happen to me when I am nedding and leave my character alone. I typically catch a message that pops up and asks: do you want to leave VMK? Yes.. No? Sometimes if I click no in time i stay on. Has anyone else seen this?

I saw it quite a while ago. I was just sitting in Central Plaza on the bench by Tomorrowland listening to all the conversations going on. The notice popped up, I clicked "No", and that was the last of it.

Have you seen the notice recently? I wondered if they discontinued the notice and just put a disconnect in after a certain time period.

i have never seen such a notice or warning box. i think if they already want people logged off automatically after 45 min - 1hr they will do it regardless of your activity level so they're not going to ask if you're around, just gonna do it. That kind of thing seems to me would have a large potential for glitches. What if it went haywire and was suddenly asking everyone every five minutes if they were still there? eeeek!!

It's usually 30-45 minutes for me. I've sent in a complain about it but never got a reply =(

ok so this is weird but i agree i just noticed every hour i get dc too lol it is a conspiracy i tell you
