My Honeymoon PTR...The real love bugs are coming in September 2011 (Final Update!)

Hi there, just thought I would pop by :)

Your Honeymoon plans sound amazing and you are going to have a fantastic time and congratulations too :) How are the wedding plans coming along?

Score on the flights, I think they can be the worst part of planning as apart from accommodation they also take a chunk out of your vacation fund.

Sorry about Disney Visa, maybe DF could apply for one instead?

So I was up before the sun today to make my ADRs. And...

I GOT ALL OF THEM AT THE TIMES I WANTED! :cool1:

Except for California Grill...
I was hoping to get a reservation anywhere between 6:30 and 8:30. However, the only times available were 5:50pm and 9:10pm. I think 5:50 is too early because we might not arrive until 4:00pm or later even. So, I went with the 9:10pm. Now that I think about it, this might be better. This way we can go early, grab a drink, and watch the fireworks on the observation deck. Then we can eat our meal in peace and not worry about getting a table with a view. I bet the restaurant won't be as loud and crowded as it would be if we ate before the fireworks. At least that's what I'm telling myself. I was going to try and change it around and eat at California Grill on Sunday night and have Sanaa on Saturday night, but I really want to have a signature dining experience with a fireworks view on our first night there. I just really want to start our honeymoon off with a bang ;):lmao: (Oh, I'm bad :sad2:)

Well here is the official list unless I change it again (oh man, I'm indecisive)

Saturday, September 24th
California Grill~9:10pm

Sunday, September 25th
Sanaa~7:45pm

Monday, September 26th
Coral Reef~5:40pm

Tuesday, September 27th
Kouzinna~8:25pm

Wednesday, September 28th
Sci-Fi~12:05pm

Thursday, September 29th

San Angel Inn~12:50pm

Friday, September 30th
T-Rex~1:00pm

Saturday, October 1
Food and Wine Festival all day

So, what do you think of my choices? I was thinking about adding in an early breakfast at a park. Should I do that? And which one? Is California Grill worth it? Or would Narcoossee's or another signature be better?

:woohoo: on getting all your ADRs - they sound great!! :thumbsup2

CG on the first day is a great way of getting your Disneymoon started. Like you said, you could have a drink, watch the fireworks and then eat afterwards! If you do decide to add an extra breakfast in the parks my choice would be Crystal Palace - have read great reviews on here and it also means you get to view Main Street whilst it is near empty!

At least you guys just tweaked your plans - we are having to make major changes to ours! :rotfl: It's a shame to hear about the Disney Visa card situation - hope you manage to find a solution :goodvibes

Yeah I really do want to stick with CG the more I think about it. I have been to Crystal Palace before and thought it was alright. I'm not really big on character breakfasts, but it doesn't bother me to go to one. I'm pretty sure Matt really doesn't want to do any character meals though. Hmmm, maybe some more convincing is in order. I can be very persistent.

:yay: for getting all your ADR's. It feels that one step closer once those are done doesn't it? :teeth:

Woohoo! I just found a 7:35pm reservation for California Grill on arrival night. :dance3: I figured if I kept checking something might open up, but I didn't think it would be this soon. Maybe there was a little disney magic involved.:wizard:

Yay! Something about getting that reservation just makes me feel like everything is official and falling into place. I'll be back soon to start posting our day to day plans. Too bad I have to go to work and can't just talk about disney all day.

Score on getting that time :yay: I love that about the online ADR's that you can just keep checking that easily. The same thing happened to us last year with CRT. We had to make do with 5:30pm and I kept checking and scored what I originally wanted, 8:30pm :)

Looking forward to hearing about your day to day plans! :goodvibes

Alright, so one more dilemma but not necessarily a bad one.

I got my free flight awards in my account yesterday so I looked up the flights to book them. Stupid me thought that I could book any flight I wanted, but this was not the case. Only certain seats are considered awards seats so I had the choice between a flight that arrived at 5:40pm or one that arrived at 7:05pm to MCO on September 24th. So I chose the 5:40pm even though it is the one with a plane change with a layover of an hour and a half. What worries me is that our reservation for Cali Grill is at 7:35pm. I just don't think this gives us enough time. Plus if we happen to miss it then we're out $40. Also, the only flight that is available on our departure date leaves at 8:20am. Yuck!

So here are my options:
~Keep the Cali Grill reservation and hope for the best
~Try to find a reservation for Wednesday evening instead (so far only 9:15pm is available)
OR (my personal favorite option)
~Add a day to our vacation
If this were to happen we would get an extra full day in Disney World, and I would shift the reservation at Universal over by a day. We would then leave on Sunday, October 9th instead of Saturday the 8th. Flight options for that day are better. On our first night I would go to MK to watch MSEP and Wishes. I would switch my Cali Grill reservation to October 1st at 8pm, and we would go to the Food and Wine Festival on Sunday instead of Saturday. And on Saturday I was thinking we might check out the Magic Kingdom to see if anything is happening for the 40th anniversary (One can only hope for a special fireworks display that we can watch from the Cali Grill :lovestruc). Plus we can have that extra day to revisit DHS and/or AK since I've only planned on one day at each.

My fiance was hesitant about adding a day. He is pulling one of those "well go ahead and do whatever you want" deals though. It will cost us an extra $200 or so depending if I can still get the room at our original discounted price. I just don't think that's too bad though since we are getting free flights. Plus, I decided that if it became too much I could give up Discovery Cove. That would save us $200 or more. What do you guys think?

Hey I don't think you will be able to make Cali Grill on your first day if you are not arriving until 7.05pm. Remember there may be delays as well so the plane could in reality arrive later then scheduled :confused3

The second option seems ok but 9.15pm sounds a bit late for dinner. I'm with you on the third option being the best! :thumbsup2 It is after all an extra day at Disney - if it fits in with your budget then def go for it!

MK's 40th celebrations sound great! It probably will be packed but still worth a visit and an extra day between DHS and AK also means you can get to visit some attractions you may have missed on previous visits. I would go ahead and book the extra day before your fiance changes his mind! :rotfl:

I don't think you will make your reservation as you got to factor in getting to your resort from the airport. Are you ME? That takes an hour around an hour to get to your resort as well.

I think adding an extra day because a) its your honeymoon and B) its Disney :teeth: Otherwise, if that's not doable than changing the reservation for another day. The beauty of online reservations is that you can check hassle free everyday from now until departure :)

San Angel is great! Excellent choice. Le Cellier is a top choice of many people, but if you want to view the fireworks, an early dinner at CG then hang out on the catwalk to watch might be an option.

Sounds like you will have a blast no matter what, I'm following along!:goodvibes

Hi Jenneth79! I'm glad you like San Angel. We have never eaten there before, but I showed my fiance a picture and he instantly "yeah, let's eat there!" So it became a must do. He's a big fan of magaritas and mexican food, and I really want to have the fried plantains and the churro and hot chocolate, yum. I'm sure we'll both have one of many margaritas here on our trip. I hope to get a seat by the boat ride because it looks romantic.

So....

I called today and added a day to our honeymoon! :yay:

Our dates are now

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
Saturday, September 24th-Monday, October 3rd

Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Studios
Monday, October 3rd-Sunday, October 9th

I also booked all of our flights. We will be arriving at MCO at 5:40pm on Sept. 24th and leaving on Oct. 9th at 10:50am.

All of our ADRs will stay the same except for California Grill. I canceled the one on September 24th for 7:30pm, but I found one for 8pm on October 1st. I'm excited and am keeping my fingers crossed for some special fireworks for the 40th anniversary. We will also be going to Food and Wine Festival on Sunday October 2nd instead of October 1st. I am hoping this day will be less crowded.

Yay on booking an extra day at Disney World and being able to change your CG reservation :thumbsup2

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get to view some special celebratory fireworks - enjoy the 40th anniversary and the F&W festival :)

Yay for booking another day :yay: and scoring a good time for CG :)

That's my favorite part of San Angel, the overall atmosphere. It just has such a romantic feel! Be warned, however, you may have to use your iPhone to read the menu! :)

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! We will be at CSR the same time you are (9/27-10/4) and are also attending MNSSHP on the 30th!! :thumbsup2

Sorry about the lack of updates lately. We've been busy around here. Matt and I have been trying to be a little healthier. We've recently started exercising daily and eating better (which means more time spent cooking and less time spent eating out). I've also been busy trying to get addresses of the wedding guests together to get our save the dates out. I hope to have a picture of those up soon as well as other wedding details.

But here's the reason I got on here tonight. I just purchased our tickets to MNSSHP tonight! :woohoo: We are going on September 30th. I hope the weather is nice that night. Hopefully I'll be back on here tomorrow to start with some day to day plans and some wedding planning pictures.

Goodnight all. (Well I guess good morning to my friends across the pond. Enjoy your day!)
