My Honeymoon PTR...The real love bugs are coming in September 2011 (Final Update!)

Good luck with the health regime - I think I need to start doing more exercise!

Yay on purchasing your MNSSHP tickets! :cool1:

Alright it's time to start on the day to day plans. If you've been following along you know I changed the plans slightly and have also added a day to our vacation since I've started this PTR. So these will be the new and hopefully final plans.

Arrival Day

We originally planned to have dinner at the California Grill on the night we arrive. However, the flight I had to choose arrives at 5:40pm so I had to reschedule. Since we arriving later in the evening, we plan on taking it easy tonight.
Plans might include exploring our lovely hotel

I have considered going here as well

If we make it in time to watch this

We will definitely stay for Wishes too if we decide to head to the Magic Kingdom. Then we'll just relax and get a good night's sleep to prepare for the long two weeks ahead of us.

I think this will be a nice start to the vacation. I hope we make it in time to catch MSEP and Wishes. I want to watch it in the same spot that we watched it together for the first time. We were in the Magic Kingdom on the day that marked our first year spent dating each other. We sat down in a quiet, uncrowded spot and watched the fireworks together. :lovestruc I think it would be a good way to start off our lives as husband and wife.

Your arrival day plans sound great! I think relaxing and taking it easy is a nice idea. How cool would it be to be able to see MK on the night you arrive! :)

Alright time to get to the good stuff. I know I already had a post about our first day at the parks, but things have changed a little since then. So I'm going to start fresh.

Our First Full Park Day
Sunday, September 25th

We have decided to begin in a park that I love and the only one that Matt has not yet visited. Can you guess what it is?

I would like to make rope drop. But if not, I won't sweat it too much. The goal of our vacation is to take our time and go at a pace where we enjoy ourselves and not wear ourselves out.

The rides we will definitely hit up are

1. Kilimanjaro Safaris-I love this and hope to ride it more than once to get a good glimpse of all the animals

2. Expedition Everest-probably my favorite ride in the park

3. DINOSAUR

Matt is really looking forward to this ride because he loves all things dinosaur related.

If it gets really hot then we'll cool off on Kali River Rapids, but I could skip it and it wouldn't bother me.

We'll definitely check out the animal trails and It's Tough to Be a Bug.
Then we'll head to my favorite show, FOTLK!

If we have time I would like to check this out

I've never been over to that part of the animal kingdom before, so it is on my list of things to do.

We will definitely want to eat some at lunch this place especially after hearing all the good review here on the DIS.

You can't go wrong with barbecue in my opinion. I've also go my eye on that key lime pie.

We will most likely stay until the park closes at 5. Then we'll head back to the resort to freshen up for our dinner at

sanaa-restaurant-disney-animal-kingdom-lodge1.jpg

We are both excited to eat here. I want to try everything on the menu  Hopefully I can narrow it down a little. I don't want to overdo it at our first meal. It is possible there will be a dismeet in store for us here, too! I'm excited to explore the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Villas. It was my first choice in places to stay, but it is a tad expensive. I thought I read somewhere on here that you can get night vision goggles and go animal watching. If this is the case, we might do that after our dinner.

All in all I think we will have a great first day. I can't wait to show Matt around the Animal Kingdom. I hope he loves it as much as I do.

AK is our first full park day as well. We also do not mind if we miss rope drop.

Your plans sound great! The top 3 list looks good. We are also looking forward to FOTLK - have read awesome reviews of the show! :thumbsup2

We can't wait to eat at Sanaa - everything sure does look appealing! I did not know about the night vision goggles - may have to look into that :)

Hi guys, sorry about being so bad about updating this thing. I promise I will get on with my disney plans, but I just wanted to mention a few things about the wedding since I'm very excited.

Matt and I went yesterday and purchased our wedding rings! :yay:

Here is Matt's

And here's mine

I also bought shoes!!! :cool1:
I had a very hard time finding any shoes that I liked. I wanted something different and I wanted them to be blue. I also needed shoes with a wider heel because I'll be walking in grass. So then I found these and loved them. But then I started worrying they weren't nice enough for a wedding. Then I stopped being so indecisive and picky and bought them anyway cuz they were on sale and they had my size. So that's one more thing off the list.

Anyway...here they are

_6297617.jpg

So what do you guys think?

Now I just need to find a hair and makeup person. I can't believe how expensive this stuff can get.

Love the wedding rings - great choices! :thumbsup2 The diamonds in yours are gorgeous.

Also great shoes - what colour is your dress going to be?

Good luck with finding hair and makeup people :wizard:

Love the rings and the shoes are really cute, congrats on getting both :goodvibes

Hey, followed you over from my PTR, I gotta go back and get caught up, but your rings and shoes are beautiful! :cool1: My DH's ring is very similar to Matt's, but instead of having a black stripe in the middle, it has a dark gray one, it's really nice!

Flight Update

So I was just on the Southwest website for no particular reason today, so I thought why not click on the change flight button just to see if any better departure flights were available. And what a delightful surprise to find that the flight that I had originally wanted was now available as a rewards seat. Needless to say I jumped right on that and switched our current flight which was departing at 12:55pm with a stopover in Baltimore then arriving at MCO at 5:40pm to a nonstop flight departing at 12:25pm and arriving at 2:40pm!

So now we'll be in Disney World even sooner!

It's funny that I've already changed our California Grill Reservation for another night and added a day to our vacation to accommodate that. But that's okay with me :rotfl:

This means we will definitely have time on arrival day to do the following things.

-Explore our resort
-Get my hair cut at the salon at our resort (I've been worrying about when I can get a hair cut because my hair will be long for the wedding and I really want it short to make it easier to manage in the heat and humidity of Florida)
-Catch MSEP and Wishes at the Magic Kingdom

Now I'm thinking maybe we should eat at T-Rex this night instead of having lunch on Friday, September 30th. This would free up Friday morning and allow us to visit Downtown Disney at night instead of the afternoon. I guess I still have time to decide on this.

What do you guys think? When is your favorite time to visit Downtown Disney?

Yay for changing flights! It's always nice to get to Disney earlier!

I like DTD either early, when they just open, or at night! I feel like the middle of the day is just too crazy and crowded! I was thinking of doing TRex on the 30th too, but we're doing LTT instead!

:woohoo: on the surprise of being able to book your departure flight using reward points!! That is awesome, especially with flight prices being ridiculous at the minute.

Lol at changing California Grill but at least you will have time to do other things.

I would go with changing T-Rex to arrival night and going to DTD at night. Having seen pics it looks so much magical with the lights etc in the evening.

:woohoo: on being in double digits!!! :dance3:

If I am right then you are on 97 days today!!! Hopefully the days will start flying and Sept will be here before we know it!! :cool1:

Hi JenrilynPearl! :goodvibes

Thanks for joining in. Hopefully I can get more details about the trip and the wedding up soon. It's hard to find the time to post stuff when I'm trying to plan the wedding and work to save money at the same time. I'm sure you know just how busy it is since you're planning yours right now. Thank you about the shoes. I was super excited when I found those.

Hi ericamcl! Welcome to my PTR! So you are from WV too...It's a small world. :rotfl2:
I'm from Elkins, but I currently live in Morgantown. Where in WV are you from?

I'm actually from the Bridgeport / Clarksburg area

Elkins isn't too far away , and whenever we head "Home" for me to visit my pap (that's what we call my grandfather) we drive right through Morgantown :goodvibes
