My first trip to WDW and DH's first time being arrested (Dec 2009)

I will be back tomorrow evening to post about our day at Hollywood studios.Everybody have a great night, and a great day tomorrow.

:dance3: this is my happy dance!!! :dance3: can't wait for tonight! This will make up for the fact I missed Big Brother (both episodes) this week. :scared1:

So much enjoying your report, please keep it coming. :thumbsup2

We have similarities. That is how DH and I were, we grew together, not apart. No, we aren't the same people we were when we married but we like who each other is!

Oh, and my DH is an IT guy too, and probably why I have never done a TR is cause he doesn't like the idea of photos of us on the internet either, it has to do with our families more then strangers but I know what yo uare saying for sure.

Yep, DH is in information security. But the down fall of that is no facebook, no my space, and if you google my real name, you won't find me. I don't mind not being found but there is so much I miss because I'm not on facebook.
The few times I've written TR's (which I never end up finishing) the kids all get code names.

I hope I remember to come back in and check. I'm leaving for the world tomorrow morning, and am just about done with everything. But there's always last minute stuff that pops up.

I am loving your trip report Lee! Subscribing!

Your Rig must be something else! The "I got hit by a truck" line- very clever!

Wow!

After much reading and then skipping some pleas for you to continue, I have finally procrastinated a full day of work!! What better way to spend a Friday than to read about someone's crazy vacation at Disney!

Thank you for sharing your story so far. I love the nickname Babylee. It's weird, but my mother's name is Lee, but full name is Lenore. Very pretty. My boyfriend's nickname for me is Dainty Little Princess, or DLP for short. Mainly named so for not being very dainty at times... I call him Jerkopotomas for when he is in a bad mood. The noise a jerkopotomas makes is "Mer", so every time he starts up I "mer", which makes him crack a smile.

Anyways, please continue with the trip talk and can't wait for the new installment. Writing talent you have much of, young one. You are very lucky to have such a wonderful man in your life.:cheer2:

It is Delswife and I am friends with her on Facebook. She documents things in her life, her and her hubby are both hilarious people. The trip reports and her blog are not 75% embellisments and fiction, she has a fantastic writing ability just like RigLee or many others on this board.

I look forward to your next installment RigLee.

Thanks for the reply, I am glad to hear she is ok. Her trip report was the funniest and most well written one I have ever read.
How come she does not post on the DIS anymore? Everyone loved her reports.
As far as, total/partial fact or fiction, I think we all have our opinions which is the advantage of living in a free country and the way it should be. But either way, both ladies have written very funny trip reports that are enjoyable to read. Riglee's writing style shows her young age whereas Del's Wife's writing is more polished and mature. But both are funny!:lmao:

Ok, it's 6:30, I've got a cold beer, just ate dinner, I'm waiting for the next chapter!! lol. I know, it's also Friday. and why am I watching an episode of COPS taking place in my city? I probably shouldn't.

Happy Friday everyone!

Lee, I really am enjoying your TR. It sounds like an amazing trip and I cannot wait to hear more about it!

Hi Dis Friends, I would love to be able to reply to each and everyones posts, I appreciate everything you have say, there is just so many now, and it would take me a long time, so I will get this chapter up and then try and respond.

Rig was up and moving before I was. It was the sound of the shower that woke me so I got up and started getting ready for the day.
I got in the shower right after Rig, whistling my favortie Disney song while I washed my hair. I would have sang it, but I learned these walls were paper thin, aside from not wanting to ruin anybody's trip with my singing, I also knew that Rig had been through enough already why make it worse by singing. Yes my singing is that bad.

I was wrapping my hair up in a towel when Rig said that it looked like it was going to be a nice day.
Finally! the sun! I decided I was going to wear shorts. I hadn't gotten any kind of a tan when I spent my one or so hour by the pool a few days ago, but I didn't care anymore. It didn't matter that my legs were pasty looking, it didn't matter that my knees were now a little skun up. All that mattered now was this was a new day. A fresh start on our vacation.
I went and got my favorite pair of pacsun shorts out of the drawer.
I got dressed and went to the mirror and started puttting the final touches on my hair and makeup, which consisted of pulling my hair back into a ponytail and applying some mascara.

"I'm so excited for this day Rig." I turned to face him, he was pulling a gray tshirt over his head. Rigs bruises had even more color today then they did yesterday, a deeper blue almost black and some purple was now showing through. The swelling around his mouth and jaw had gone down alot but his eye was still grotesquely swollen shut.

"why's that babylee?" Rig took a quick glance in the mirror and ran his fingers through his hair, satisfied with the results he grabbed his hat from the shelf and put it on.

"well for one, we're going to Hollywood Studios today, but mostly because after what happened, I really thought this vacation might be ruined."

Rig put both arms around me and drew me in close to him, "Of course it's not ruined." He said kissing the top of my head.

"I thought for sure we would be going home early."

"I'll be honest, I thought so too, but everything worked out and now let's just move on."

The bus to Hollywood studios was packed and the bus driver insisted on squeezing in as many of us as he could. I'm ok in crowds, but this was just a little too close for comfort. I was happy when we finally got to the park. I was figuring though, if the bus was this packed so early in the morning then the park is going to be very crowded. Hopefully we learned a little something about fast passes from our morning at Epcot with Jenny and Grant, and Rig and I would be able to ride without waiting in the regular lines.

Once we got inside the park I had figured right. We were at the edge of an ocean of people and as minutes passed by we quickly ended up in the middle of this ocean, and the people just kept coming and the ocean just grew and grew.

Rig had picked up a park map and events guide on the way in. he was looking at the map, not paying mind to the growing crowd around us.

"what should we do first babylee?"

"I'm just going to follow you Rig, it's all up to you."

Rig looked up from the map for a minute. "Well I'm thinking that whichever way the majority of the crowd goes, we should go somewhere else."

I shrugged, It didn't matter to me, I would follow Rig anywhere.

I watched the crowd for a while, you know you can get some of your best fashion ideas from scoping a crowd of people, you can also get alot of fashion don'ts. But on this particular day of scoping, I realized that Rig and I were in the minority when it came to wearing Disney attire.

"Rig, you and I should buy matching Disney tshirts."

"We should huh?"

"U-huh, don't you think that would be fun?"

"Would that make you happy Babylee?"

I smiled big and nodded.

He tried to wink at me with his already shut eye and that just made us both laugh. "Alright then, we'll get matching tshirts some time today."

the crowd started moving and we just moved along with it. It thinned out pretty fast. We walked up to the first road and stopped, Rig looked to the right and then we started walking again.

I heard the screams and then saw it. Tower of Terror. "Rig, you know I'm not going on that right?"

"I thought you said you were going to ride everything at Disneyworld."

"But that's not really a ride, that's more like a tragedy waiting to happen."

"If it were dangerous Babylee, they wouldn't be allowed to run it."

We kept walking towards it, the building getting bigger and scarrier with each step. "Who Rig? Who in their right mind wants to be dropped straight down like that?"

"I do woman."

"I said in their right mind."

"Oh, you're just so funny Lee."

I thought I was.

We walked up to the entrance of the line. Talk about some uninviting music. I know it's supposed to sound old timey and add to the whole experience, but I didn't like it. I was having a hard enough time deciding if I were even going to ride, and at that point the eerie music was not helping.

I could hear the ride, I could hear the people screaming on the ride. I looked up and saw the doors open, Omagosh, they don't just drop you, they let you know how high up you are before they drop you.
I had to speak out loud in order to convince myself to ride. "I rode space mountain almost by myself, I rode haunted mansion, this is kind of like space mountain meets haunted mansion. I can do this."

"Alright said Rig, let's go." he grabbed my hand and started pulling me further into the entrance.

I planted both feet and wouldn't move, "wait, wait wait."

"For what baby? to talk yourself out of it?"

"No, ok let's go."

I chickened out at least 4 more times before we even got to the lobby. The lobby was intriguing though, and even more intriguing were the CM's. At first I thought they hated their jobs, none of them smiled, I gave my biggest smile to the guy holding the velvet rope and letting people pass through, he stared at me blankly and after I passed him he yelled "Boo!" of course I about jumped out of my skin. But then I gave a giggle, this CM was having fun on his job, he was so into his character.

by then it was pretty much settled, I was going to ride the Tower of Terror.
Which in my opinion should be renamed. It's obvious that thrill seekers will go on this regardless, but for the chickens in the world, maybe renaming it something a little more inviting would help us. When I see the name Tower of terror, in my mind I have just read, "run away now, this ride will kill you."

We all gathered in the library. Rig stood behind me with both of his arms around me. "You're gonna have to hold me tighter than that cowboy."

the lights go out, there's a clap of thunder followed by lightning. a loud curdling scream is heard by all (that was me of course) and then some nervous giggles, (that was also me) The TV came on and I watched the story of how this hollywood hotel came to be the tower of terror.

The doors opened and everybody makes their way to the boiler room, Rig and I were the very last to leave the room, I planned it that way. Every second that I could prolong this death box drop the better.

"I should have pee'd first."

"Babylee, you say that everytime."

the line was moving way to fast for my taste. We got in the very first line there was, I think it was the shortest too, because everybody else kept going all the way down.

I'm sure it was 5 or 10 minutes that had passed since we left the library and got in this particular line, but to me it felt like seconds. Soon we were lining up on our designated circles. I started to get tunnel vision, I can not explain it, but it felt like my face was shrinking.

"Rig, I think I'm having an allergic reaction to this ride."

"You can't be allergic to a ride Babylee." he shook his head as he laughed

The elevator doors open and each line files in and we take our seats. Rig and I were in the very front row on the left, as you're looking at it. I was sitting in between Rig and another man.
"Rig I can't get my safety belt tight enough."
Rig yanked on it a couple of times. "It's tight Lee."

I started taking short little breaths, the guy next to me asked if this was my first time on this ride. I couldn't look at him, I just stared straight ahead. "Yes."

"It's really not that scary, it's not a bad drop."

Rig whispered in my ear, "should I warn him to cover his nipples?"

"Don't you dare."

The CM asked everybody to raise their arms up and he looked to make sure we were all strapped in, he started to turn around and in an after thought he turned back and looked at me and said "give yours a yank would ya." So I did.

"Ok good they fixed that one again."

"Again? Rig did he say again? like it breaks all the time?"

The guy next to me said , "I've heard that joke on here a hundred times."

Rig thought that was the funniest thing, maybe if it was said to somebody else it would have been funny, but I wasn't finding the humor in it, not then anyway.

The doors shut and it gets dark, I could feel the ride move. I thought this ride was going to just take you up and drop you, but no, they keep you anxious for bit, you move forward and to the side and you see the missing people, and wierd ticking clock parts and it really is a nightmare, then they take you up, the door opens for a second before they drop you, but you don't drop all the way down, they stop you and pop you back up again. It's a tease ride, I would prefer to just go up and then drop, quick and easy, done, finished. but this keeps you bouncing and tikles my tummy. I kept flying up out of my seat.
"Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus." I wasn't taking my lords name in vain, it was just the best I could do to muster any kind of prayer.

The ride finished it's torture on me and I am sure I was the first one with my lap belt unfastened and ready to leave.

Rig and I went and looked at the ride picture. We didn't buy the picture, again who needs a reminder of their near death experience!?

We walked out through the shop, and when we got out there, a coffee cart was waiting just for us. Rig got me and him a coffee and I also got a danish.
We sat on the wall and had our tiny breakfast.

"That wasn't so bad, was it Lee?"

"It was bad Rig, you know what they need for this ride?"

Rig shook his head,"No, tell me."

"An orange side and a green side, like they do for mission space. the green side would be the non dropping side."

"What's the fun in that?"

"You could at least experience some of it, and tell people you rode it, it's a good idea Rig, you know it is."

Rig had a smirk on his face, "You should submit that idea to disney."

"I will"

(I am going to still, I am just trying to perfect my letter, make it as convincing as possible.;))

We finished our coffee and danish. Rig took the map out of his pocket. "Now hear me out babylee, there is one more thrill ride at this park, we should just go on it now and get it over with, then the rest of the day is free for whatever you want."

I took the map from him and looked at it. On the map it just looks like a little rollercoaster, small like Goofys barnstormer at Magic Kingdom. It was really close to where we were. It only made sense to just do it and then avoid this part of the park like the plague for the remainder of the day.

I agreed to do this if he agreed that the Little mermaid would be the next thing we do. He agreed.
So Rock -n-rollercoaster was our next venture.

We get over to it and I see the tracks and realize, this isn't the actual ride, the ride is inside, it's going to be like space mountain. I didn't panic, I stopped somebody in passing and asked them what the seats were like on this ride. "Is it like space mountain where you sit by yourself?"

"No, there's somebody next to ya."

I was satisfied with that.

We looked at the numbers for return times with a fastpass versus waiting. we decided to just wait in the line it was really 6 of one half dozen of the other. We didn't feel like leaving and then coming back.
Teh line was boring, we just made our idle chitchat, I'm sure I amazed Rig with some dingy questions or ideas, he's always telling me how amazed he is by those.

It was now our turn to go in, we watched a recording session with Aerosmith. Pretty cool, I'm not an fan of aerosmith, but it was still cool.
When we were let out of the room I hung back, I wanted to be the last again. I like having time to just watch for a minute, get an idea of what's going to happen next.
We then walked into what is supposed to be the back alley of the recording studio, our limo was going to meet us there. I was a few steps ahead of Rig, I culd see one of the limos sitting there ready to go and then with tires screeching it took off at an ungodly speed for any roller coaster, that was all I needed to see, I turned around and ran smack into Rig.

"Nope, no way Rig, this aint going to happen."

Ok, it's 6:30, I've got a cold beer, just ate dinner, I'm waiting for the next chapter!! lol. I know, it's also Friday. and why am I watching an episode of COPS taking place in my city? I probably shouldn't.

Happy Friday everyone!

It's actually 8:10pm (MST) and I'm just about doing the same. Like you, I just finished eating dinner and I'm actually sitting by the computer waiting for the next chapter. I'm not watching COPS though, I'm actually watching the NFL Preseason game between the Bengals and Eagles.

Forgot the beer though. :drinking1 Thanks for reminding me. Hopefully the next chapter comes soon.

LOL. And wouldn't you know it. Just as I typing a post, there's the update. Go grab my beer first then come back to read the next chapter.

It's great how everyone is different. You can do Mission Space Orange and the spinning Tea Cups from Hell, while I much prefer something that is more straight but fast. :rotfl:

My fiance was so happy when I told him I *might* try Mission Space Orange, but then I told him you prefer I don't do it so I don't curse you. He's still hoping I'll change my mind. He says we'll do it last, and can sleep in the next day so I have plenty of time to recover. :rotfl2:

Oh, and to answer a previous question from you, I just always walk fast. It takes me more of an effort to slow down. :confused3 I have a hard time living in the moment, I always want to know what's ahead. I will try my best to slow down and "smell the roses" next time I go to Disney. Seems so stress free the way you and Rig tour the parks. We're more of a Jenny and Grant for that. ;)

HAHA Lee my heart was beating as you were escaping those rides. My friends tried to get me to go on TOT and rocking rollercoaster and Im like Oh No no way!! I need some Dramamine for the next time we go!! Your convos with Rig sounds EXACTLY like what I'm going to say in 11 days :lmao:

Excellent! My kind of evening! COPS was boring. I've been watching a documentary about Rush for the last few hours checking this thread every so often. I thought my 20's were supposed to be more exciting? lol. I guess I had all my fun early in life.

RigLee - great update. Keep em coming.

Oh trust me, you 20's will be plenty exciting. I'm having just as much in my 30's as I did in my 20's. I hope in continues when I hit my 40's. I'm not that far away.

I agree, great update Lee. DW said you know how to end your chapters at the right time to keep us coming back. To keep us in suspense. Now I'm anxious to know if you actually rode RnRC. Which is my favorite ride at all of WDW. Not so much DW's favorite ride. Her favorite is actually ToT.
