Agree with this! my family also loves BCV and BWV but our kids were little when we bought in, so we will sometimes switch at 7 months, but you don't need home resort points for that.
This is also a good idea - at the time we bought in, BLT and SSR were only about $5-10 pp apart, so we decided on BLT so we always "at least" had a home resort we wanted at 11 months. But if you like Disney Springs, and don't mind being at SSR, it can be a good choice for "sleep around points". (Note - we just came back from a stay at BLT, refurbished, and I am hanging on to those points!!) Another option is you can bank and use 150 + 150 points every other year for your non-AKL stays, that is enough for a good trip in a 1br (easy at 7 mo) or a shorter trip in a 2br (a little harder, but doable).
If the dues are sad, then definitely look at a lower dues resort - and rather than split stay, bank/borrow and have up to 450 points for a bigger trip in a bigger unit every 2 years or so. 300 points would definitely be good for a 1br or larger stay, depending on time of year.
re: CCV - you didn't mention if you have a family, or plan on having a family, or taking others - the only reason why we (still!) haven't stayed at CCV is because the 1br only sleep 4. Although we are a family of 4, we have sometimes brought my dad (and sometimes last minute), so having a 1br that sleeps 5 is worth it for the extra space and the possible changes to travel plans. BWV: all the 2br are lockoffs so they go quickly - and the 1br also only sleep 4 (you can bring bedding for a 5th but... not for my 84 yo dad.)
