My DH took his brother on a post divorce trip to WDW - my BIL had a witch of a wife who spent seven years trying to keep him from his family - now she is no longer the wife. So my DH wanted some time with just his brother and took off on a long weekend.
So I asked him where his room is - they booked late - so ended up with a preferred view room. Their's overlooks Luna Park.
He said "Its handicapped. When we checked in the room we were supposed to be in wasn't clean yet, and the CM spent some time poking around trying to get us a room."
My husband asked him what the problem was and he said "the only rooms I'm showing ready are handicapped."
My husband said "OK, we don't care."
The CM was visably relieved, "Really, wow, most people get their nose out of joint when we put them in a handicapped room."
Its just DH and BIL in a studio - no children needing a tub. But this does make us two for three on HA rooms. Also puts us at two for three on getting our non-smoking request.
A few comments from "between the lines" -
1. It appears that "the room we have assigned to you isn't ready" does mean that there is some preassigning going on.
2. At least this CM was making a somewhat concerted effort NOT to stick my husband in a handicapped room.
All those people who are grateful that there are people like us willing to take the HA rooms should feel free to send their appreciation via chocolate.
