for a new one?
It was a Mr. Coffee with a timer

Drink tea!:teeth:Couldn't resist!

Sorry, can't help you since I don't drink coffee.

Here's an unsual suggestion (and likely one you'll reject) -- have you considered a Chemex coffee pot?

There is something I really like about the 'ceremony' of coffee making....I think it reminds me of being at my grandparents when I was a kid. And it really isn't that complicated. Put the grounds in the filter, the filter in the top of the pot, and pour boiling water over the grounds. Makes a darn good cuppa.

We buy Krups coffeemakers because they are well made and last a long time. We like ours because the plate keeps the coffee hotter than most - I hate cold coffee!

I think a small quite ceremony with a few of the other appliances in attendance would be nice....

Seriously I like my Braun coffee maker.

I bought a Black and Decker from Wally World a couple months back. 12 cups, timer, clock, etc.... and have had no problems at all.
It has the slide selector on the filter tray that goes from mild to "OH MY GOD!" I really like that feature.

I think I spent 20 bucks on it. Not the best, but it works.

We had to get a new one this Christmas and we got a Cuisinart and I just love it.

LOL
I do drink tea, hate coffee :crazy2: its for my hubby. :D

Also Thank you all for your responses

Since it's just for your husband, try the Melitta coffee pot. It makes one cup at a time, but it makes it pretty darn fast. I bought this for DH last year for his birthday and he loves it. The best thing about it is they make individual coffee filters for it with the coffee already in it. The way they market it is it makes the perfect cup of coffee every time. They make different flavors too. And since you're also a tea drinker, you'll be happy to know that they also make tea pods (this is what the little filter things are called) to go with it also.

I bought the coffee pot at Target and you can also buy the coffee there, but DH signed up for the coffee club thing so he can get the exact coffee he wants when he needs it.

I have the Black and Decker under the cabinet coffee maker and love it and it has the timer.

Very cool and I like the idea of the tea pods too. :D Me thinks I'll have to check into it. Thank you Heidi

Your welcome...and I forgot to add that clean up is a breeze too. Since you just set your coffee mug in there, there's no coffee pot to clean up...just your coffee pot. And if you wake up in the morning and he wants a cup of coffee and you want a cup of tea, there's still no clean up. He puts in his pod and puts his mug in and when his is done you can come in immediately behind him, put in your tea pod and fix a cup of tea. It won't taste like his coffee at all. I think it's very cool ::yes::

Get a Bunn. It takes 3 minutes to brew 10 cups of coffee since it stores hot water in it. The coffee stays hot on the burner, too.

I just got mine around Christmas. I couldn't go back to any other coffee maker.

my mother and I have been through so many coffee pots in our lifetime - we've finally found one and stuck to it.

she has

Braun Coffee Maker

and I have this one - however I have the one with the timer - can't find a picture of it (I'm on my 2nd machine (went from white to black) and my 3rd carafe - yes, I'm a pot breaker)

I totally agree with RUDisney!

We are on our second Bunn - the first one lasted about 12 years. The 3-minute pot of coffee is wonderful for someone like me who gets a little crabby without some morning caffeine.

If it has to be fast, the one I mentioned takes about a minute and it's done. One steaming cup of coffee in about a minute with no clean up.

me too!! I love my Bunn::yes::

I love my Cuisinart Grind and Brew(I think that it's name). It grinds the beans right before brewing-shoots the ground coffee right into the filter basket, you can't get much fresher than that. With my Gevalia coffee, I am a happy camper in the a.m.:D

We use a french press.

We heat up water, add the grinds, wait a minute or two, and push the plunger.

Its really good!

I bought the french press for about $20.
