Not sure if I ought to call the vet. We noticed the other day that she seems to have a slight limp in her left front leg. We checked her paws, and nothing appears to be sore. She isn't favoring the leg. In fact, it's almost like she's trying to hide the fact that she's limping. It's very subtle. She doesn't act like it hurts at all.

What should I do?

What should you do?? Tuck your tail between your legs and run for the hills!!! ;) You're gonna get a wide and varied range of responses on this one.......

I don't have any answers, sorry. But I'm sure you'll get lots and lots of advice from others.

:D

I had a cat years ago and she started limping / dragging a leg. Took her to the vet and they said she had sever arthritis in her spine. At the time there weren't any medications for cats that would help. I felt badly because I realized that was probably the reason she was always relunctant to jump and do some other things. Thought she was just lazy. It finally got so bad that she was obviously in pain much of the time, hope that isn't it or that they have some better treatment options available for you.

My simple answer, take her to the vet. Probably not an emergency but the only way to get a real diagnosis.

My cat limps because she is fat....

We have taken her to the vet and tried lo-cal foods. We have 2 other cats who are not fat but they are the only ones who LOVED the expensive lo-fat food.

Rosie (fatso... 22 pounds) won't eat it at all. The doc said there wasnt a whole lot we could do. It might eventually shorten her life but right now shes healthy, minus the sort of way she lumbers around.

Her sister is a big cat too.... 17 pounds but very solid. I guess some cats are bigger than others. The non related kitty is about 6 pounds. All fed the same food.

I would guess taking your kitty to the vet for a check up is a good idea.
