My attraction of the day - Discovery Island Trails

I'm so ashamed of myself.... We've been going to the AK since it opened, but this is the first time we actually walked down any of these trails. Usually we run by on our way to Africa. These trails are so nice, there are animals here. The otters weren't out playing, but we did see capybara...

The animal habitats are situated in the roots of the Tree of Life...

The next time you're in the AK, when you get to the Tree of Life and turn left to walk to Africa, look for paths on the right. You never know what delightful surprises they may hold.

Too funny - I've always wondered how everyone sees all the wonderful carvings in the tree up close. I figured they had a power-zoom on their cameras!

I too will stop and smell the roses next time I'm in AK (only 127 days)!
