MVMCP-Dec 2010- Cape Cod & Fall photos-Update 11/16

Hey April . I swear it looks like that fox is posing for you . That salad looks sooooooooo good. I have been craving a good salad, but today all I got was plain ole lettuce and tomato :sad2:. I love your little purse it is so cute:thumbsup2

I'm so glad you enjoyed the show. I think it's been my favorite of the Disney ones I've seen. (I still need to see Mary Poppins and I missed Tarzan).

Those veggies look so good! Yum.

I want to see Mary Poppins, too!

Thanks!! That salad was pretty good. I ate it 3 days in a row!
17 days until you are in Disney!!!!! :woohoo:

Today is my 7 year anniversary at work. Yesterday we had a conference in Boston at the new Convention Center.

This is a bunny that is always with this guy who makes balloon animal & things. I don’t know why he is at the conventions, but it is a fun break to the day. The bunny just sits on the stool. I’m surprised he never gets scared or jumps off of the stool.

This guy was representing W.B. Mason & people are supposed to guess how many Post-its he is wearing.

They were giving these away to promote a massage business- which I have NO idea how that is an appropriate business to promote at a convention for office supplies & services. (Someone DID mention that it looks like a Mickey hand) It is definitely the weirdest thing someone has given to me, though:

I saw a documentary about the construction of this building:

I took a few photos of the city-

We were pretty close to the airport:

There was a mural on this building that I thought looks like Wyland artwork:

I love Wyland. Has anyone ever visited the galleries in the Polynesian or at the Boardwalk?? I have only ever bought a pair of earrings from the store, but I want one of the paintings SOOO badly!
This tank is always a point of reference for traffic reports:

On the way home yesterday, I thought I would run into some bad storms, but, as it turned out, my area was the ONE spot that the storms missed. The radar from my phone:

I noticed that while I am there, the “Eat to the Beat” concert series has Kool & the Gang, Sugar Ray, and Taylor Hicks. No one I would wait in a crazy line for, but I will stop & listen. I like Taylor Hicks the most out of all of them. That is my only “Disney” news- isn’t that sad???
Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!

You always go to the neatest places. I go to a dumb old office that's inhabited by ghosts every day.

The massage hand thing reminded me of Mickey's hand too. I thought they wanted you to work while at work and not get massages. Seeing the guy in the post-it suit thing reminds me of a guy I saw in a duct tape suit.

Forgot to post my thoughts on the Eat to the Beat concerts. I guess I'm showing my age because I loved Kool & the Gang!

I just LOVE Boston. There is so much history there. The great places to shop don't hurt, either. ;) Trust me- my office is SO boring- and we don't even have the ghosts like you do! I think that's SO cool, by the way. :)

I love Boston. I don't get there nearly often enough though. When I was just out of college my father was on a temporary transfer to the area. He'd go home on the weekends and I'd head up and use his room with my friends. We'd take the T in and just enjoy the weekend.

We've actually had massages here at work, so maybe it's not as crazy as it sounds. For staff appreciation day they used to bring in a massuese and we could all schedule a 15 minute chair massage. When the economy tanked last year they did away with it. I miss it.

Hey April! love the pictures your pictures are always so clear and the angles are great...I love the pictures of the fox; the last we seen here was two Dec ago when it was chasing a rabbit across the backyard in the white snow...it was beautiful and sad to watch all at the same time

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks! Unfortunately, I haven't seen "our" foxes for over a week now. I hope nothing killed them & that they just "moved on".
I am loving your TR, by the way!!

I think all of you knew Ginny (aaaateamsgrandma). I took the news of her passing pretty hard when I heard it on Friday. I just would like to say that she was a wonderful person and I will miss her a lot.

I found a copy of the cd with the song they play on Kilimanjaro Safari on the UK Amazon.com website & it came in last week. I have listened to the song about 500 times. Friday I went to IKEA & bought a bunch of things. I have a little story there, too. I was sort of trying to get through the store quickly. I walked down an aisle because a lady was blocking the aisle next to me. I saw something I needed (potato peeler), so I stopped to look. Well, the lady in the aisle next to me chooses that moment in time to let a certain bodily function rip. It was LOUD. I had to move on pretty quickly to keep from laughing. At Ikea, I bought a nice, heavy wood cutting board, potato peeler, apple slicer, lemon squeezer, a bunch of little stuffed animals (they are teeny) for my friend’s daughter, and a cool carpet that was in the “as-is” section. It must have been in one of their displays because it looks new.
IMG_4391.jpg

I must have looked ridiculous carrying that carpet through the store & trying to hold my bag of other items. I drove the 1.5 hours home & we had our new washer delivered. I LOVE it. We got the #2 rated (on Consumer Reports) LG model. It is a front-loading machine with a much larger capacity than the one we had. Saturday I did laundry & an hour on the treadmill. It felt great to do that. I also found my “Titanic” dress. A woman in Florida made it for me in 2001 & I wore it to the Halloween Party that year. I took photos of it for Lisa because I know she loves “Titanic” as much as I do.

By the way, Lisa- did you hear they are supposed to re-vamp the movie & make it 3-D? I don’t know if it is just a rumor, but I heard they will re-release it for the 100th anniversary of the sinking.
Sunday, I went to visit my stepmom for a bit. She may be joining me in October! Sunday night I went to Bertucci’s to meet up with some “Disney friends”. We talked about the possibility of a trip next March. One of my friends works in Korea & he was only home for a few days, so it was good to see him. He brought us all a mat with Mickey & Minnie on it & some cut Mickey & Pooh socks that he bought in Korea. Plus he showed us a bunch of cool stuff he bought at Tokyo Disneyland. Another friend gave me a link to buy Dole Whip mix!!! I ordered it today.

Sometime this week, I am going to post my itinerary version 1.2. It hasn’t changed much. Have a great week, everyone!!

Hey! April
too funny about your store trip! :lmao:
cute costume...don't know what I think about Titantic in 3D :confused3
sounds like you had a great time with friends and you are doing great styaing motivated with your treadmill (way to go)
:wave2: Connie

It was really cool when we got them. They'd have an entire staff appreciation week with something cool going on every day. They'd have drawings every week and every staff member would win something. Last year they did nothing. This year we all got an umbrella and 2 people won an extra paid time off day. 2 out of about 300. Not terribly exciting, but at least we should be getting a small raise this year. Reading between the lines of the memo they sent out, a teeny tiny itty bitty raise, but at this point I'll take anything. :)

I love the Titanic costume. When that movie came out at the theater I used to work at it was so crazy busy. I'd come in at 6pm and all the shows would be sold out until after 11 pm (and it was playing to about 1200 seats). I'd entertain myself by watching all the teen girls weeping in the back of the theater when Leo died. I've never seen a movie quite that busy.

I know- it doesn't seem like a 3-D kind of movie to me. :confused3
I'm TRYING to stay motivated, but I haven't been doing 100% good in the diet area. My main problem...cheese.

It sounds like your job is reallly awesome! I know what you mean- I think that anything we get in this economy- we're lucky! I'm happy for our 1% raise this year. Heck...I am just happy to have a job. :)
That must have been so fun to watch audience reactions to Titanic!!! I was 22 when it came out & I cried like a baby in the theater. I saw it about 3 times, too.

Wow I'm all caught up! You take awesome photos!! I've from NY and your photos made me miss it sooo much :(

Thanks!! Where are you now & what made you move out of NY? I really love NY. There is so much to do that no one will EVER be able to see everything there is to see there.

These are my plans so far:
Day 1- I will arrive in Orlando at about 10am, pick up my rental from Alamo, stop at Winn Dixie for snacks & water, then go check in to the Yacht Club. I hope I get another room just like this:
IMG_2187.jpg

IMG_2188.jpg

I have a 2pm appointment for a facial at Mandara Spa in the Dolphin.
IMG_2428.jpg

After that, I have an early dinner scheduled at Yachtsman Steak House. Magic Kingdom has EMH that night & I want to head over there if I’m not too tired.
The next morning, I have an early breakfast scheduled for Cape May Café.
IMG_2494.jpg

IMG_2491.jpg

I plan to go over to Universal and Islands of Adventure.

I scheduled a late dinner at the Wave.

I am waiting for Universal to announce Halloween Horror Nights dates. I am still undecided about going. I went in 2001 & some guy chased me with a chainsaw. I shamelessly ran screaming & flailing my arms. I’m sure more than a few people got a good laugh seeing that. I just have an irrational fear of zombies & chainsaws- and I’m SURE I would see both of those things at HHN.
Wednesday I have a very early breakfast at Boma & I am planning to go to Animal Kingdom.

It has rained EVERY time I have been at this park, but it is usually so hot that I don’t care.

EPCOT is having EMH that night & I am having dinner at Coral Reef. I can’t wait to try it.

Thursday I have breakfast booked at the Fresh Mediterranean Market in the Dolphin. I’m going to DHS & HOPE I will be able to get a fastpass for TSM. I’m definitely heading to the Animation Academy, Tower of Terror, Rock n Rollercoaster, Muppets 3-D, and American Idol.

Dinner will be at California Grill, followed by Mickey’s not-so-Scary Halloween Party. I still haven’t decided on what to be & I will probably wait until the last minute to decide.

Friday I have a late breakfast at Kouzzina & I might book horseback riding at Fort Wilderness. I’m not 100% on this yet. AK is open until 8pm for EMH. I want to see the park at dusk because I never have before. Dinner is at Jiko after that. If I’m up for it, I will head to Downtown Disney for some shopping.

Saturday morning, I am going to “Dolphins in Depth” and will most likely be going back to the room to change before going right back to Epcot for some Food & Wine time.

Sunday I have a breakfast scheduled at 1900 Park Fare and a dinner scheduled at Artist Point. MK is open late & I may go there in the evening. Otherwise, the day is free!! I may go to the pool or something. We’ll see.

Monday my flight leaves super early.
That’s the plan so far- pending changes to flight times, my stepmom coming along, and/or HHN.
Other than that, I am excited to go & see my brother, Jeff, graduate college Sunday. I can't wait!!! Have a great week, everyone!!!

Wholy carp what in the world is this??? I love thrill rides, but this is scaring even me a bit!

All your plans look great. It really looks like you have a great balance going on.

:lmao: That 90 degree rise is just the first hill of Hollywood Rip-Ride-Rockit at Universal. It isn't too bad. You get to pick your own song that you hear during the ride & the rest of the coaster is relatively tame. Now- I went on X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain- I love all rollercoasters EXCEPT that one. Here is the description from their website:
"Unlike traditional coasters where trains only parallel the track, X2 sends riders screaming around its 3,600-foot maze of steel track aboard massive wing-shaped trains where the seats extend off of the track to the sides of the vehicle, allowing them to independently rotate you head over heels, forward and backward creating a one-of-a-kind "don't know what to expect next" sensation."

It was AWFUL.

You don't think I have too many meals planned? I was just afraid that if I DIDN'T book stuff, then I would miss out on sit-down meals.

Okay, if that's an incline I think I can handle it. I was afraid that was some kind of crazy drop or something. :scared1: That other one sounds awful though. I can handle pretty much any kind of ride except those octopus type rides. Things that go up and down while moving in other directions make me turn green.

I don't think you have too many ADRs at all. Better to have them than not. You can always cancel them while your there if you don't want to go. That's why I made a few more breakfast ADRs this trip than I usually do. I don't mind a grab and go breakfast, but without a food court for something hot I didn't want to chance we might want that one day and then be stuck.
