MVMCP-Dec 2010- Cape Cod & Fall photos-Update 11/16

:flower2::flower2::butterflyHappy Earth Day!!:butterfly:flower2::flower2:

So I completely freaked when I weighed myself last week. Holy Moly- it was bad. That was all the motivation I needed. Since Friday, I lost 5 pounds. We’ll see if I can keep it up. So far, Monday & Wednesday I did my Ab Circle, weights, and the Treadmill for 30 minutes, Tuesday I did the treadmill for 30 minutes, and I have been watching what I eat. It is a definite adjustment, but I have to say that I feel a little better every day. I have also been drinking a lot more water and I have been going to bed earlier. I can’t tell you if it is going to work in the long run, but at least I feel like I am finally doing something about it.
Back to Disney details…my friend that lives in NYC may go to WDW for a few days while I am there. Also- I have my spa appointment AND Dolphins in Depth confirmed!!! I’m looking forward to Dolphins. I have to say that I like the fact that they let the dolphins decide whether or not they will interact with you. If they choose not to interact, then pffft. But I still can’t wait to see the Seas backstage and to be so close to the animals.

So far, this is how my “Day 1” looks:

I get up SUPER early- 3am to leave my house by 3:45am & be at the airport for 5am. I still haven’t decided if John is going to drive me there or if I will just drive myself. My flight leaves around 7am, so I will get to Orlando International by 10am. I will run to grab my luggage & rental car, then set off for Winn Dixie to pick up snacks & water for the week (if I have time). I have to check in & get right over to Mandara Spa for my facial. At that point, my vacation will have begun. I will get back to the room with about 2 hours before my dinner at Yachstman Steakhouse. After dinner, I may choose to relax a little…or I may decide to stroll through Epcot, hop on the monorail and get right to Magic Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours. Some MK “nighttime” photos:

Have a great weekend, everyone!!

Which one is the GE building? That's SO funny that your office building is in my photos!!! :rotfl:

I didn't realize that they stopped serving breakfast. Dang!

The GE building is the one you go to the top of. My building is the next largest building north of that. (The second building away from the GE Building). It's right on the other side of Radio City. I'm only on the 8th floor, but I love when I have to go to the 43 floor so I can enjoy the view. :lovestruc

Good for you for getting a good program going again.

Dolphins in Depth looks like it will be so much fun! I want to try so many of the different tours. I can't wait to hear about the tour.

I'm looking forward to Dolphins in Depth! I will definitely have a thorough report on that!

I have to say THANK GOODNESS for Subway & Chipotle while I am dieting. That means I don't have to prepare meals every day!

Day 2 plans are REALLY up in the air until I find out Universal & IOA’s October hours and Halloween Horror Nights dates. So far, I am planning to eat at Cape May Café for breakfast, spend the day at Universal & IOA, and have dinner at the Wave (a first). I can’t say much more until I know more.

On day 3, I have a VERY early ADR at Boma, then I head to AK. I’m planning to get on the safari, FINALLY find Lisa’s “hidden” Tree of Life trails, hit the Dawa, get in the single rider line for EE, go to Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl, check out Finding Nemo, go on Kali River Rapids if it is hot enough, and I want to get to the walking trails.
I’m planning to go back to the room for a rest/nap (we’ll see if I CAN rest), then head to Epcot for dinner at Coral Reef (a first) and EMH that night. I’m a total Epcot bum. I could just wander WS and browse the shops ALL DAY. I’m really looking forward to the EMH there. I also plan to get on Soarin’ and Spaceship Earth as much as possible.

On day 4, I am walking to the Fresh Mediterranean Market(a first) in the Dolphin for breakfast. After that, I plan to continue walking to DHS. Of course, the first thing on my agenda is getting a FP for TSM. I want to get to the Animation Academy this time, too. If no one is with me, that means I can wait to get in as long as I have to. I’m definitely getting on Tower of Terror (my favorite) and Rock n Rollercoaster.
I have a dinner at California Grill and I *think* this will be my Halloween Party night. I’m still not sure what my costume will be.

Day 5 will start out with breakfast at Kouzzina (a first). I am thinking of horseback riding, but I’m still unsure. The morning is totally up in the air. I’m planning on spending the evening EMH at AK & having a late dinner at Jiko.

Day 6 is my Dolphins in Depth day! This starts at 9:45am & I think it is 3 hours. I just plan to spend the day in Epcot & I have no ADR’s. I am going to see what’s going on for the Food & Wine. It is possible that I may go over to Universal for Halloween Horror Nights for that night, too.

Day 7 is my last day. I have breakfast at 100 Park Fare & Dinner at Artist Point. MK has evening EMH- which I am SURE I will attend. Other than that, I will wait & see where I feel like going on that day.

So that’s my itinerary thus far. I know I need a bunch of things for this trip- one of the things I need is a comfortable bag to carry around. I need something that will hold a change of clothes- so nothing HUGE, but not too tiny, either. Any suggestions? By the way, I found a bunch of $5.99 shirts at the Disney store website! Here are a few things I’m looking forward to:

I was sick with a cold all weekend, so I didn’t accomplish much. I did, however, discover that a mother & 2 baby foxes are living in my back yard. These photos aren’t great, but:

Last time this happened (at least 9 years ago), I had a better camera. It was a Canon Rebel 35mm “film” camera & I had a zoom lens. This is why I want the Digital Rebel T1i:

I REALLY want that new camera, but I doubt I will be able to shell out that kind of cash! I have nothing exciting to report. The weekend was low key:

I just found out that my stepmom is going to WDW in July. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous. Sorry for the “blah” post…I’m just sick & feeling sorry for myself that I hit a plateau after 5 pounds. I mean- I haven’t been eating anything “bad” AND I have been working out! I will have to try harder.

Hang in there! I know what you mean about feeling blah. I've been battling that alot myself lately. On Sunday I couldn't drag myself out of bed to go to my Zumba classes that I love. I just can't seem to shake this feeling. It just has to get better!

I'm sorry that you were sick all weekend. It totally sucks to have time away from the job and then not feel well.

Your pictures of the fox and her babies are good even if you think they are not. Are turkeys prey for foxes? If so, Mr. Turkey better watch out!

Thanks! At least I know I'm not alone!

:rotfl: You know- I haven't seen that turkey for weeks!!! I wonder if he "moved on" or if Mrs. Fox & the kids had a turkey dinner.

Today is the 12 hour marathon day at work. So far, I’ve had a morning meeting, got the wrong breakfast, and took out our Administrative Professionals for Administrative Professionals Day. I know it was last week, but this is seriously the closest to the actual day we have ever gotten. The meeting in the morning had us agree on another meeting date. I was SUPPOSED to get an onion bagel with veggie cream cheese, but I ended up with a cinnamon raisin bagel with veggie cream cheese- NOT a good combo. That’s what I get for straying from my diet! So I didn’t eat breakfast. I did have a very good veggie burger for lunch, though. We went to Bar Louie in Patriot Place, which is right at the stadium. It is a huge shopping complex. I took a few photos:

I’ve never even been to a game there. Friday night I am going to see Beauty and the Beast at the theater. I can’t wait! The rest of the weekend should be uneventful, which is a good thing. It will be nice out Saturday, too, so I am hoping to get some yard work done & get Isis outside for a good part of the day. I’m going to try to find & scan more Disney photos for you, too.

I get all nervous and shaky just looking at the pictures of the stadium. There's no way I could sit up at the top or even halfway up. I'd be freaking the heck out.

Hope you have a great evening with Beauty and the Beast.

Thanks! I don't think I could ever sit in those high-up seats- especially near the edge!! :scared1:

I forgot to tell you that I showed your pictures to John and Hunter. Now, I've gone and done it.....Hunter is more and more insistent that we visit your part of the country.

That bagel you got stuck with sounds kind of gross. I can't imagine a raisin bagel with veggie cream cheese.

Your going to love Beauty and the Beast. I saw it a few years back on Broadway and it was wonderful. It even made my dad cry.

Stopping in to say HI . Sorry I have been MIA; we have been so busy at work lately. I hope you have a great weekend!!!

I'm on board!!!!

Loving your PTR so far!!! Especially the photos!!! Can't wait for more!

Woohoo! That is awesome. I will meet up with you guys for something if you make it up here. Did you know about the lodge with the indoor water park in NY state? http://www.sixflagsgreatescapelodge.com/ We have a Six Flags in Massachusetts, too. There are a lot of historic places in Boston to see & Cape Cod is nice in the summer. Western Mass is great in the Fall. Listen to me- I sound like a lonely tour guide! :rotfl:

That’s ok- I completely understand. You must be busy getting ready for your trip, too!
I really want to do something to help the animals in the Gulf. The dead sea turtles story nearly killed me. I LOVE turtles. :sad1:

I'm on board!!!!
Loving your PTR so far!!! Especially the photos!!! Can't wait for more!

:yay: Hey- I was wondering where you disappeared to!!! How is everything?

Morning April,

Hope you had a good weekend!

Hi Lisa! I hope you had a good weekend, too! I'm sick over the poor animals in the Gulf. I want to be closer so I can do something. I want to donate if I can.

Friday I bought my Halloween Party ticket!!!! Plus my stepmom told me she may travel with me. That is great news! We went to see Beauty & the Beast that night. Let me just say- if Beauty and the Beast comes to a theater near you, go and see it. It was at the Hanover Theater Friday night & I thought it was just fantastic. The actors had great voices & the sets were amazing. This is the outside of the theater (taken from the parking garage):

This is the area just before you walk into the theater:

This is the set- it is all I could take before the show started:

Sorry- my cell phone takes bad photos. We had so much fun Friday night. My stepmom had gotten me a teeny bag (for Christmas) that I use when I go out. It is made from some kind of wrappers.

I love it! I am wondering where she found it. I’d like to see if they have regular-sized purses.
Saturday I worked in the yard & then went crazy cleaning the freezer and the fridge. It took about 2 hours! After that I saw my new friends:

Then I washed the sheets, ran on the treadmill, and hopped in the shower. John showed up with these:

He is so good with the flowers. I love that about him. In my 15 or so years of dating, he is the first guy to give me a whole bouquet of flowers. John & I went to a new (new to us, anyways) restaurant called Morocco. It TOTALLY reminded me of Disney. The food was SO good & there was a belly dancer (though she was too thin, but still very good). I didn’t take photos because I can’t fit my camera in that teeny purse! We ordered 2 appetizers: the Shenklish (Spicy aged cheese topped with tomatoes, onion, oregano, parsley and olive oil) and Falafel with Tahini. They were both very, very good. For dinner, I got the stuffed grape leaves dinner with rice & grilled vegetables. I practically inhaled the rice because it was so good. John got the beef shawarma (Sirloin tips marinated in a unique 7 spices blend topped with tomato, parsley and tahini sauce) and he loved it. We will definitely be going back. I’ll bring the big purse next time so I can take some photos.
Sunday was uneventful. I went grocery shopping & made a huge salad and a huge fruit salad. I was chopping, peeling, and slicing all day. I had SO much that I gave a ton of fruit salad to my parents and to John’s parents.
This morning I had fruit & cranberry orange muffin oatmeal. Lunch will be salad with no dressing (but 4 types of peppers, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, sugar snap peas, scallions, endive, feta) and a veggie burger on a multi-grain flatbread.
IMG_0202.jpg

For dinner I am making roasted asparagus with lemon, brown rice pilaf, and I will cook steak or some kind of meat for John. I haven’t weighed myself since last week. I’m afraid to.
Sorry there isn’t much more exciting going on. I’m going to get caught up on everyone’s TRs.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the show. I think it's been my favorite of the Disney ones I've seen. (I still need to see Mary Poppins and I missed Tarzan).

Those veggies look so good! Yum.
