On our 6-16-2017 Sailing on the Disney Dream on Disney Cruise Lines we decided to play the Muppets Midship Detective Agency game. We played it over the length of our entire 5 night cruise. It was a lot of fun to see a quality muppets production. I am a big fan of the muppets and enjoyed every second of it with the kids. We got to see all the major stars like Kermit, Fozzy, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo. They all had parts to play in the game.

The first tip we have is to sign up for the game when we you board the first day. There is usually no line. There are TWO locations on the Dream to sign up. Deck 2 outside of the Enchanted Garden and Deck 5 before entering the hallway to the kids clubs.

The second tip is don't wait till your last day to play the game. The lines will be longer and you will have to wait to be able to interact with the photo. If someone is on the same game as you then you might get a spoiler while waiting in line. We would play a few times every day as we walked around the ship over the 5 days we were there we were able to complete the game at our pace.

Tip 3 is keep the player card with you at all times. That way when you pass an interactive picture you can play the game.

Tip 4 these pictures are spread out all over the ship. You don't have to do them in any order. You just have to do a different picture every time. So you can start AFT hit every picture AFT. Then move MISDHIP and then FORWARD. This way you are going up and down and not hitting pictures on deck 3 aft and then deck 2 pictures are all the way forward.

The last tip is to do what they say and actually scratch off the people who can not be the criminal. This is a fun game of deductive reasoning. So make sure you play along. It is worth it! As you get closer to the end it is a lot of fun to discuss who you think is the culprit!!!

People actually take the whole cruise to play this? I would play over and over just going from start to finish! :)

And while someone in front of you *might* get the same clue, there are multiple options, so it's worth doing yours. Even if it seems the same. As many times as I've played all three - puppies, paintings, and Muppets - I think I might have gotten the exact same result *maybe* twice. And more than once I've thought I've known where it was going and been totally wrong in my first (though not acted upon) guess.

Folks will probably figure this out on their own, but the Muppets mission can involve a lot of walking. If you are trying to finish it in one go, and you have little ones who might get tired with all the walking, consider making the elevator your best friend.

There are several parts of the game where you have latitude in which paintings you visit. So, for example, go up to Deck 9 Aft and just start working your way straight down, using the staircase. Once you've reached Aft's bottom-most painting, repeat, as practical, for Midship and Forward. Gravity will be on your side, and you can knock out several paintings without the little guys getting tired. This won't eliminate the need to run back and forth to Pepe's door or the bulletin board, but it helps.

I also - though it takes some of the exercise value out of it - would take notes on things like the cast list, the awards, or whatever else on subsequent playings (all with different outcomes, I might add) so that I wouldn't have to go BACK to Pepe's door or the Call Board and could just go to another painting. :)

We always took a picture of pepe's door and the bulletin board so we didn't have to go back to that spot, we'd just look at our picture. :)
I did the same thing just in case the kids lost steam. They loved the whole adventure style of the game so they would just take off towards the door or a bulletin board without hesitation. :)

Great advice, same goes for the Muppet Call Board.

On a related note, I was looking through my vacation photos and I noticed Pepe's door features his stateroom phone number (41-5148) and the message "Call Me, Okay?"
The Dream does not have a room 5148, so I assume calling this number leads to a silly message.
Can anyone confirm and/or deny this?

Yes, Pepe answers and gives you a touch-tone menu for a variety of silly messages.

That’s what we do too. Top to bottom, back to front. Oh, and one other tip. Take your phone or camera and take picture of Pepe’s door and the Muppet Call Board. Saves a LOT of walking all the way back just to look at those!

Is it just me or do they "randomize" the stuff on the bulletin board from time to time? It seems like the last time I did it, the flyers/notes/announcements looked different than before.
