Multiple Reservations for Same Week?

Looking to book for 2022 and have a couple of questions that I can't find the answers to:

-Will the system let me book multiple reservations for the same time frame?
-Will this mess anything up for park reservations when I cancel one of them?

Basically we'd love to stay at AKV-Kidani but on the slim chance that AKL and all of the restaurants over there aren't open by next year, we'd probably want to stay somewhere else so I want to make a backup reservation and cancel one of them as we get closer. I want to make sure that is possible and won't mess anything up! There's also a chance I'd change my mind of resorts if and when discounts come out next year, so I also want to make sure that won't mess anything up park reservation-wise.

Your theme park reservations won't be impacted by changing or cancelling a resort reservation.

I just had two resort reservations that overlapped - I didn't want to cancel my old one before my new one was locked in and confirmed, and it let me do that. So yes, the system will let you book multiple at the same time! Nothing was impacted when I cancelled one.

Interesting, I have Coronado Springs booked but have overlapped 4 nights at Swan Reserve over New Year. I have not yet linked the Swan booking to MDE as I dont want to cancel some nights at Coronado until the Swan Reserve is a bit nearer completion. I am obviously not wanting to lose park reservations for that timeframe either!
