multiple discount offers

My daughter just started the program and we are planning on a time to go see her in August. I planned on using the 50% off discount on resort rooms since she will stay with us. She said yesterday her recruiter said she could combine this offer with the free dining offer they have during the time period we will be there. I was thinking that you could only use one offer. Plus with free dining i think you have to purchase tickets as well and we were planning on using some of those free park day admissions. Of course we want to go as "cheap" as we can..this will be our 3rd trip this year!

As far as I know, you must purchase Magic Your Way tickets to be eligible for the free dining in August. Therefore you could not take advantage of both the dining plan and your daughter's Main gate pass. Sometimes they have special dining plans exclusively for cast members. I just got back from a trip and they were running a $21/day dining plan for cast members. Have your daughter check on the Hub to look for any of these offers. Good luck!

I found the free dining with the discount an unbelievable offer The hub, she said is a bit confusing at first but she is taking some time to get used to it. I will have her look and see if there are any "deals". We are just so excited to see her again. She just text me and told me she is in love with her job (entertainment costuming) so that makes us want to get down to see her even sooner!

She is doing costuming at Hollywood Studios! I think she said there was only one other girl at her orientation yesterday. She worked helping with The Block Party (I have never seen it but I think she said it was a parade). She loves everything so far!

She said she looked at the hub and found where she could make our reservations..how or where does she look for special offers on dining? She said it is kind of confusing but still could not find anything for dining. Thanks in advance for any help!

I have a question please. My son is a CP and we made a room reservation through the HUB at the 50% cast member room rate, but were told that we could not do the dining plan with the discounted room rate. We are not planning on using our sons main gate pass, we are buying our own tickets. Could they have misinformed us? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They only offer the dining plan with the 50% discount at certain times of the year, its not an all the time thing. And you definately can not get free dining with it

my mom enquired about the free meal plan thing too, but they told her she couldnt do it. I still think they(my family) are getting a good deal though with the discounts the cp's get.

As others have mentioned.... your thinking is correct. You cannot get free dining on top of a CM room discount.

However - there is sometimes a CM dining discount that can be added to a CM room discount. I do remember that there was one last September because my in-laws decided to get it. We didn't realize it had to be added 36 hours before they arrived, so when they tried to add it once when they got here they couldn't.

That CM dining discount was 21.99 per day (for adults), so it was about 50% off like the room.

The dining discount is not currently available, so information is not available on the Hub. They'll just pop up randomly, like the PP said, usually during a slow period.

Yes, I think you were informed incorrectly. Since you're looking for just a regular dining plan (full price), you should be able to add it to a discounted room. He would not have been able to add the plan on-line, but you should be able to call in order to add the cost of the tickets and the dinning plan to your reservation.

It's my impression the dining plan cannot be added to any discounted rooms regardless of the intention of paying full price for it. I know CMs occasionally can get it at a discount but I think it has to go along with a discounted CM room special.

For non cast members the dining plan can only be part of a package with a regular priced room. AP and DVC can now add it on too. If I am incorrect I would love to hear more about it.

I asked my daughter and she said she was not aware of being able to add the dining plan to a CM discounted room.

I know it could be for that because we did it - it was all part of the special but I have never heard of being able to add it full price to a CM room --- although I read another post about it on another board so its probably true - say you have to call to add it though.
