When booking our trips...do we always have to go through MS? It just seems to take forever (a lot longer than booking through CRO). I know we just bought and today was the first time I made a resie and maybe she went over a lot more stuff because it was my first time...but wow! I think I was on the phone for 1/2 hr at least!

Just curious if this is something that can be done online as well through the DVC website. I don't have my PIN yet so can't access it.

I can imagine your first time feeling like it too way too long. But I have been doing this for 11 years and I now love talking to MS. Maybe I am an odd one thinking like this but they always take care of me (and my points) and watch out for my best interest.

I know you can put in a booking reservation request online and then they get back to you but I prefer to do it live and know that I am confirmed.

I hope you get to love MS as much as most of us do...they really do become your best ally. At least that is what I have found to be true.

And by the way...Welcome Home!!

Oh don't get me wrong, she was really nice but I would ask a question and it seemed like I was bothering her....but she wasn't mean. Not sure if that makes sense. She was sweet when everything was said and done and we spoke about Kidani because she stayed there last Sunday in a 2-bedroom.

I think it might be I felt intimidated and unsure since this was my first booking. I guess I just wanted more stroking but still get to the point. Plus I aksed about staying the week after instead and it didn't take her long for her to say no availability.

Is there protocol I should follow when booking from now on? She did waitlist me for the following week. I just feel so confident when I call CRO and know exactly what they can do and how to ask for certain things. Not sure if that is similar with DVC.

And thanks for the Welcome Home!! :wizard:

Look at it this way

You did not have to respond to the following USELESS questions to get to MS

1. If this is your first trip to Disney press X
2 If you have visited Disney more then X press Y
3. If you have a cat or a dog press X
4. If your hair is blonde and you live in GA press 1.
5. If you hate these messages presss 9

(OK I made some of these up but seriosly, do they REALLY need this book a room????? Perhaps if they had A REAL IT shop and a REAL loyalty program they would ALREADY know all this just by my "loyalty" number like Marriott does. What a concept. Reward your customers not "punish" them LOL!)

And so on. Disney's CRO has become a NIGHTMARE of "data collection" just to get to a LIVE human.

So true! rofl :) I certainly do NOT miss that aspect. I had to experience the new format on booking my last trip through CRO...but no more!

Good post lah3hh :thumbsup2

Pumpkinfish, give it some time, you'll get used to MS ::yes::

Sometimes they may seem maybe bit 'stand-offish' when you ask questions during the ressie process but I always felt that is probably because they are trying to be focused on being efficient & seeing that what you're trying to book is what's coming up on their screen. Some CMs tend to be more all business in their interaction with members. But I have to agree with lah3hh that most times I've had great experience dealing with MS & have spoken with some of the nicest CMs too.

Congrats & enjoy your DVC :goodvibes

I really prefer going through MS for my reservations. When we first bought into DVC I was grateful for the extra time the CM spent helping me find my way. I've never had a CM who was unpleasant or hurried; I have, however, had one who didn't put in my room location request (which I found out when I called to give my DME info.) I find that even now I may have a question (about points, etc.) when making reservations.
