Monday 15th Oct MGM/Epcot/YS

I'm up around 7 this morning as usual stick coffee maker on and proceed to tidy up and sort out the cash for the day, I have a moment of panic as I think I've lost $300 of TC but after going through receipts discover they where spent a few days earlier and I had forgot to mark them off :o:, the rest of the family rise a little after 8 and by 9 we are on a bus to MGM, don't about others but the new automated voice over on the buses seems to have taken away the drivers personality as you barely get a grunt from the now. We get a few pics taken

We get fastpass for RnR and head to TOT 10 min wait and it's as good as always, catch the first show of the morning of HSM2 keeps DD happy as she's a freak about it, also I must admit I think the HSM2 show is better than the first one with more songs, we do some shopping on way back to use fast pass for RnR, this takes longer than it should have as the assistant hasn't a clue how to do resort delivery and she doesn't even ask for help, but eventually another assistant must see it's taking ages and offers her help and we are done, now we use our fast passes for RnR and I have to say the new fast pass queue is much better as we are on in 10 mins, some souvenirs are bought in the shop I get a new rock star wig which attracts many comments throughout the day, DD and DW both spent quite a bit on clothes and bags this assistant though did our resort delivery much more quickly, DD wanted a new HSM top so we went to the store up by Indiana Jones as it seems to be the best for the merchandise and sure enough she gets a top she really likes, juices and icee's are bought and we just wander, me and DS try our hand at Star War's

we meet Mike and Sully

the plan now is to head over to Epcot for lunch at F&W but knowing how fussy they all are I offer to buy lunch in the Commissary which they think is a good idea too, DD has the Asian salad (which I try too its pretty good), DW has burger and fries, DS has cheese burger and fries after brunch we get the bus to Epcot but not before more shopping is done, reason we are getting the bus is because we want to see our Leave a Legacy tile.
On entering Epcot we eventually find our tile with a little help from a CM

I ask if anyone wants to do a ride but the consensus is no not really just have a wander and let Dad have a few tastings, so thats what we do for a couple of hours and I must admit it was very enjoyable

I could have quite happily have ate my fill here but as we had YS tonight I knew I had to be careful with my choices, one of the highlights was the Buffalo it very tender, the Escardo wrapped in brioche where great even DS stole one of these and said it was very good, the Dulce de Leche dessert was delicious the walkabout wine tour for $7 in Australia was good fun and good value, I got many high fives from the cm's in Epcot as a rock star vip, even Belle pointed out to Beast that Ozzie was in the house today, DW and the kids loved the ice shavings in Japan and said they where very refreshing, on the way out of the park we had our usual port of call at Ice station and I still managed to trick DS into trying Beverly, we left Epcot around 3pm to head back to hotel

This is the sight that greeted us on arrival at our room

the kids headed to the pool, DW had a kip and I had a glass of wine on the balcony while reading my book, our ADR for YS was for 7:05 so we left our resort around 6:30, taxi was $17 and we checked in
collage121.jpg

then headed to the bar, DW ordered a Blue glowtini, and I had a rum runner ($19)

even before the drinks where being poured we where informed our table was ready, our server was Oscar and he was a bit of a character and knew his soccer/football, even knew how well Scotland where doing in Euro qualifiers, now I don't remember mentioning it was DW's birthday for YS but I must have at some point because we had personalised menus wishing Jacquie a happy birthday which was a great touch, we passed on starters or rather the rest did I wanted the scallops but didn't want to be the only one having a starter  , the birthday gal had a 24oz porterhouse with fingerling potatoes the closest to fries and warm chocolate cake for dessert, DS had lamb two ways and mickeys puzzle dessert, DD had the veggie pasta and creme brulee, I had the sea bass and creme brulee, we also ordered sodas, bottle of wine, and DD had a strawberry daiquiri, also I had a Jamaican coffee to round my meal off the meal was exquisite the service impeccable without being stuffy, the dining plan has not had an adverse effect here yet and I hope it never does, DW also had a special dessert delivered to the table compliments of the restaurant which was very nice

we also sang happy birthday at Oscars bequest all his tables did, I had about half a bottle left of wine so Oscar had it boxed up and bagged for me, our total bill was $234 before tip and worth every cent

We rounded the night off with heading to Epcot to catch illuminations which was just about to start, but security wouldn't allow me in with the wine even although it was gift boxed but if I had bought in Epcot they would have allowed me, one word but its a family board so I'll just think it, I left the wine in bag and put in bushes then walked into Epcot, and I took DW's bag stuck it up my shirt and went through no basg line just to prove these guys offer no security, petty yes did it make the kids laugh yes, collected wine on way out after viewing illuminations from bridge, taxi back to resort, night cap on balcony while DW packed something's away

I can't tell you how many times we've spent $$, didn't realize it, and thought it'd gone missing. I could've written that part myself! This, of course, is the primary reason we have taken to charging everything to our room so we can keep track. We do that until we screw that up too!

Your wig was the best! Gave me quite a chuckle; clearly, your family is a lot of fun!

We love the Yachtsman as well; I agree you can't really go wrong there with anything you order.

Agree with you about security. Someone could put a hand grenade in his pocket, but as long as it's not in a bag, no one checks! We had to go through metal detectors at HHN. Took a long time though so I'm not sure of the compromise, but surely they could figure something out! Anyway, I am very glad you got your wine back. Perhaps they have different liquor licenses? I know at Universal, each hotel has its own liquor license, each park has its own, and City Walk has its own. Forget it ... I would think that would apply to open containers. Your wine was boxed up. Maybe they thought you'd open it up and drink it? and the liquor license police would find out? :lmao: I agree with you that that was silly, and I'm glad you were quick on your feet to hide it, and more glad that no one found it and took it on you! :goodvibes
