I went tanning for 2 weeks so I wouldn't fry like I did on my last cruise in May....I was a lobster in 2 hours then...so hopefully I can handle the sun okay..and I brought tons of lotion!

going crazy at work!!!! My mind is spinning 100 mph with all of the packing cleaning and fe finalization that still needs to be done. Not to mention kids Lacrosse game, baseball and must do family gathering on Sat. I just keep thinking of an adult beverage on a lounge outside watching the ocean pass by! (sigh & smile) Oh, and gonna try to squeeze in a little disneyland tonight!

Gotta go put out last minute fires at work! no early out for me.....

Dang. I'm just frozen. It's my worse trait, I'm such a procrastinator. I have so much to do but I'm going to meet my girlfriends for Happy Hour. I knew I would wait until the last day. I love it though!:banana::banana:

Can't believe it's almost here! I'm thinking about everyone traveling and already on vacay! :dance3::dance3:

Well folks, this is it. We leave in the morning. Our suitcases are packed and we are ready to go :)

I want to thank everyone for joining me on this thread... when I started it I was hoping to meet some *wonder*ful people that would be sharing our much anticipated vacation. I think my wish has been granted!!

I know that there are a few folks who printed FE lists for the group, and I thank you for doing so.
I will see you all on Sunday at 3:00, drink in hand and smile on my face!!

PS. Happy Birthday to those of you celebrating before you get on the ship... i will be having my very own celebration on Tuesday!!

We are staying at the Double Tree tonight and will shuttle over to the port in the morning. Anyone else staying at the Double Tree want to meet up tonight in the lounge? We don't check in till about 4pm, so maybe meet around 6pm? Anyone?

:cool1::yay::cool1:

Quick question......
Are we able to check 2 bags per person plus a carryon (adult beverage bag) or one bag and one carry-on???

Unlike all you people who started packing in early Jan., i am of the other group...wait til the last minute and peek my stress meter to the max.

I hear ya...I just finished!

You can check 2 bags in and have a carry on. I have a rolling small suitcase and a large bag that's going over my shoulder. :grouphug::grouphug:

Hope everyone had a great time. A HUGE thank you to everyone for the many surprises. It was a lot of fun to find treats in our FE, I'm still trying to go through everything.

I'm so happy that we joined the group and got to meet everyone the first day. We had a blast and didn't know what to expect with this being our first cruise ever. My almost quick view of my first time...

We had Marco, Jaime and Dan for servers. They were amazing!!!! Loved them and already miss them so much! We had Glen for our room host on deck 7 forward. He was also beyond amazing and looked after us through a lot.

We decided to stay away from the busy crazy lines for characters and was happy we did. We did of course have the breakfast and then I went down way early to line up with Florie to see princesses. So that wasn't to bad. We did score tickets to Tea with Friends for the second day of Cabo but had to miss it due to the LA part of our trip catching up with us.... more on this later.:sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:

Palo was great....

Cast members amazing and lovely....

Shows from what I caught were beautiful...

Shopping on the ship was to limited for what I like to try to look at...

Weather amazing...

Excursions we bought through Disney I think were a bit of a waste of money but as first time cruisers going to Mexico with 2 small children were fine and I don't regret them.

Food on the Wonder (as I'm guessing with all cruise line ships) tasted mostly over processed and more a 2 to 3 star rating. We were disappointed in quite a bit of it. Like the tomatoes, the kid's Mickey Pasta was just starchy mush last night and I sent it back. Scrambled eggs I think are made from powder and were a little watery and bland beyond words. This morning when we left breakfast I had a bit of a laugh because I saw empty tables with plates full of scrambled eggs covered in ketchup left uneaten. Other things were way over salted, like the soups. The fruit I got one day with dinner seemed way past it's happy date.

I did love the sandwiches and salads at the Goofy quick serve (think it's goofy)

Before the cruise we were able to come and spend some time in LA before we sailed. It was great and we loved the hotel in Long Beach. Good location and lovely little place. But the carpet in our room was so nasty that I had to ask and ask and then told them out right to clean the carpet! It was making us sick. It didn't help in our fav. that there, from what I was told, was a flu going around LA. We were unlucky enough to catch it I think because we took turns feeling very unwell.

So between the food not being all that and then being sick I think I actually lost weight on the cruise. :cheer2::cheer2:

:sad2: though because Florie was way to tried and ill to care about going to the Tea with Friends so I turned my 4 tickets into guess services so that someone else would be able to go. Although I went back to my room and had a good cry I knew that someone else would have a magical time and that was the main thing in the end.

I missed the sail away party because I was in the room trying to unpack and didn't know it started...

I missed the Pirate night because I was half dead in the cabin.

Missed the Dreams show because someone, probably me, was sick again.

Missed a show I think last night because I was trying to pack to go home.

Didn't even try to go to the Till we meet again party because it looked like madness and we had seen the characters the kids wanted to. Did walk past on deck 5 and saw the aftermath. So funny watching people try to scoop up confetti off the floor. Not once did I see them use confetti that I can't just get at a store.

Kids clubs were great, although Florie, who is home with me all the time, didn't want to have a thing to do with it. Andrew did like the nursery though so I was happy that we were able to get him a spot 3 times. Oh and Florie did do the club once. They lovely took my screaming crying almost 4 year old and she soon had a good time for about 3 or 4 hours and then never wanted to see it again. But at least she tried it.

Funny moment for me was when we first got on board Florie saw Cinderella on Deck 4 and so we went to say hi. Mind you this is the very first time Florie had EVER met a princess. Florie shockingly didn't seem star struck with her at all but did have a conversation with Cinderella about how much she loved Snow White. Cinderella was very sweet with her and told her that she would tell Snow White that she said hi and how much she loved her.

In the end we would do another Disney Cruise but I think we've decided that we'd wait about 4 years or so till the kids are older so that maybe we could have some time alone. With any luck by then the food will improve.

Any way that's my short two cents... killing time in Hawthorn till we fly home on Tues... trying not to get sick again. :upsidedow

:grouphug: Hope everyone is safe and home! :grouphug:

Awww...I miss everyone!

We missed the meet and greet. We were at the Mickey Pool and staying with our carry on then once we got into the stateroom I completely forgot.

I loved all the FE gifts! It really made the trip wonderful and my mom and I split the decks and I loved looking at everyone's FE's and doors!

Oh, I broke HALF of a tooth off eating an appetizer in Tritons! Thankfully, no pain.

Dakota (nephew5) got sick the last morning which made disembarking a nightmare! :scared1: Ummm, not throwing up, the other way. (Sorry). We only had ONE outfit! They were wonderful letting us stay in the cabin for as long as we could. Then on Deck 3 as long as we could. Once we got in line for immigration, it was so long. The staff let my mom and Dakota stay on the ship (in the bathroom) until they could walk right off to the waiting car. We stayed in line and got our luggage, it was loaded and they came right out and into the car. And wouldn't you know, he is fine now! My poor mom  Poor Dakota

We had the best table mates. DD13 was with another DD13 and made fast friends. Whew! Made the trip easier for me :woohoo::woohoo: They had another daughter Dakota's age. The wife and I made fast friends and went to Wavebands numerous nights. She actually was one of the few that was hypnotized.

Going to spend time with DH so will write more later. Oh, rebooked for Alaska next year in August. :cheer2:

We are ll missing the Wonder already! We had such a great trip and wonderful service. We requested the same server as last year, Danish and love him! He had a new assistance this year as Dani was promoted to a server a few months ago! It was so great being at the first meet and being able to get to know some of the FE pep's durring the trip! This time we got to play more triva and enjoy more of the things on the ship and really felt like there just wasn't enough time to do it all a second time that maybe, a third trip is in order! I hope that everyone made it home safe and for those that were at the Double Tree the night before we sailed, I hope that they were able to do something for you as the power outage was an internal issue, not and issue with DWP as they were telling guests that were checking in. We were not to happy with the Double Tree, but the cruise was WONDER-ful!

Hi Jan. 29th Wonder cruisers,

I hope you guys all had a magical vacation and the settling back into reality is not too bad. I am sailing this Sunday the 12th and I was wondering if I could ask you guys some questions?

Did anyone have Boneiface as a server? I requested him and I was not sure if he is still on the ship.

Tell me how the open houses went in the club/lab? Is there still a big 6 hour time block of an open house in the club on the first sea day? Did anyone experience an open house with a child 8+ who had sign in/out privileges? Where they able to stay in the open house without a parent?

This is our 4th DCL cruise and I have a 3, 6, and 8 year olds. I am irritated about the change and would like the latest first hand experiences from the Wonder, since it seems the other ships have shorter open houses.

Thanks so much for the information. It sounds like you guys had amazing weather, I hope we luck out with that too.

Kristi

Well the open house really just means it is another part of the ship. They do not check anyone coming in. So anyone could do it. The first sea day open house of the Club really ruined my 3 year old as when the Club or Lab is open house they usher all the kids over to the other club. We tried her out in the lab first and she was too young to have fun in there. So it took her a few days to get back to wanting to go to either club.

The one day that it really was an issue was on the second day in Cabo. We left the kids on the boat and were going to put my DD3 and DD7 in the Club and DS in the Lab. But that morning the Club was open house and DD3 was not wanting to go to the lab. Grandma was staying on the ship so we were going to have to leave her with the DD3. Finally told her that I would tell Mickey if she didn't behave and I would buy her something in Cabo. She agreed and went.

As for my thoughts on the open houses: The blocks were too long. I can see how it would benefit people with kids that have disabilities and I can appreciate that. I have a friend that is actually on the cruise right now that has a very autistic kid that will be able to enjoy the lab and club because they will be able to take their kid in.

There is SOOO much going on at all times that you will feel overwhelmed and the kids will always have something to do. You just might have to do it as well.

Thank you so much for your response. I was afraid to hear that the open houses are still large time blocks. Did you notice if the open house room was busy or not, past the first day?
