I finally opened the incessant email promos for a conference — Illumine! Inspire! Innovate!
And discovered it is March 9-11 at the Wyndham Garden Lake across from Disney Springs.
I have an AP, and will be down in late April/ early May with my hubby who likes to move more slowly.
The Wyndham Garden Inn gets Meh reviews at best, but my professional expenses will pay the hotel, meals and airfare. Oh, and the conference too, of course.

I live in Lancaster PA, and discovered Breeze airlines a mile from my house will get me to Orlando at 11 pm on March 8, and back home again leaving at 5 on March 12.

If I attend all conference sessions and workshops, I will have these segments
March 9, morning until conference start at 1 pm. Ends at 8 pm. I may have booked a Magic Kingdom after hours from 10 pm - 1 am, with the conference starting the next morning at 8:30 am. I told you I am being irresponsible!

March 10, conference from 8:30-2:30, off till 7:00, then ends at 9 or so.
March 11, conference ends at 1 pm. I have till my flight the next day at 5 pm.

I’ve recently lost 65 lbs on a GLP-1 since May 1, and am down to the weight I was when I got pregnant 38 years ago! So some photopass pics I’ll like are a priority.

Here’s what I’m imagining — in between getting illumined and inspired, of course.
Help me refine:
March 8: fly down , arrive 11 pm, get to bed as soon as possible
March 9: in AK ( my favorite park) no later then 8:30 am. LLs for Safari, Everest, and Navi, in that order. Walk both animal trails ( I try to get at least 12K steps per day). Fop Fancy ride, then either rope drop Nomad, or Satuli for lunch, depending upon time. Tempting Tigress either at Nomad or walk up bar. Dole whip with rum.
Leave by 12:30 to uber back to hotel, get out of skort and into “business casual” like it is the only thing I’m doing that day. Stack a few LLs for MK close to closing.

Still March 9: Attend conference, including dinner and 7 pm reception. Leave reception at 8, change back into park wear, and uber to MK, planning to arrive by 8:30. Use whatever LLs I have stacked and then enjoy DAH. Tron, Space Mountain, now that I can heave myself out of it less like a beached whale, couple rounds on HM, my favorite, Pirates, SDMT, maybe Tiana in a poncho. Stare longingly at BTMR. Photo-pass pics of new me . Stagger home, maybe not staying till 1. Get some sleep.

March 10: Responsibly attend conference 8:30 to 2, except may bail on lunch and after lunch workshop.
Uber to Epcot for Flower and Garden. Guardians Fancy ride ( favorite coaster in Orlando). Wander around topiaries, and try some of the festival foods. I’m still on the GLP-1 and can’t eat much, so not as many as sound good. La Cava cucumber marg. Uber back to conference from 7 pm plenary and make appearance at reception.
Head to DS across the bridge by 9:30 for Jock Lindsay’s and to grab a few Gideon’s to bring home.

March 11: conference 9-1. Tell people how illumined and innovated I am. Back to Epcot, Guardians again, single rider TT, living with the Land, maybe Soarin. San Angel chicken tortilla soup and a cucumber marg for dinner. Skyliner over to DHS for stacked LLs for TT, Toy Story Mania, MMRR and Rise. Stare longingly at Rockin Roller and grieve the muppets all over again. Ogas at park close, just to see an empty Galaxies edge.

March 12: check out of room, back to AK. Same LLs, festival lion king, lunch Tiffins, then Uber back to hotel and ask driver to wait while retrieving luggage at 2 , then to airport for 5 pm flight.

Do-able ? Anything you would do differently?

Congrats big time on your weight loss!!!
Your trip sounds wonderful. Enjoy the rides and all the fun photos you will have taken during your conference trip. I loved reading your plans. If you do a trip report, be sure to link it here so I don’t miss it. Have a blast!!

I love the title of your thread! And I also congratulate you on the weight loss!

I have no comment on your plans. But it did make me think about my first WDW visit with DH and kids. I was coming for a conference too, but we arrived on Sunday, I think, for a conference that started Thursday. I registered for the conference on Wednesday evening, but when I woke up Thursday morning and started thinking about how DH and kids would be continuing to have fun like we’d had on previous days, well, I never made it to the conference. So I hope that having an AP and multiple other trips to WDW under your belt will make you stronger than I was!

I think it sounds awesome! I’m personally willing to get sleep less and do things at Disney that would normally sound too exhausting, so I think it’s do-able, especially being on your own. If there’s anything you can skip and still be “illumined and inspired,” I’d duck out for more park time😆

I stayed there last year. My son had a conference. The conference was in the tower building. But we stayed in the garden inn part. It’s a quick walk, across the street and over the bridge to the market place.

The hotel was fine. Rooms opened to the outside. Pool area was nice. Rooms were dated, but clean.

The shuttle ran only a few times a day. I had my car, so didn’t look into it.
