MR BACK's Back!

kadaten - evey time I tried to post on Fiday about your kids I got booted off. I was trying to say,

HOLY ADORABLE!!!!

Catrina's hair appears to be curly and whispy right now - so I know I am in for it. I too just let my son go to school with his hair in whatever shape it is when he wakes - often that means with it plastered to one side of head and sticking up on the other - who cares! I sit every night and brush her hair and brush it when she wakes in the morning - I have no idea what makes me do this - it must be some ingrained woman thing. I certainly never do this with my son. So, Lewski, its OK, it sorta just grows out of you and you want to do it. You'll totally get into it if the baby's a girl.

OK - so everyone is off in Florida that was going and hopefully having a grand old time. Wilma is no big deal for Orlando as I said, and its going to be one huge gigantic super mess for us here in Mass. Its joining with some Nor'Easter and Alpha and combining to create this massive, massive Nor'Easter for us with expected winds speeds of 60 mph and 3 inches of rain per hour. FUN!!!! Its going to hit tonight - doesn't that seem super fast!???
Aw, thanks, cg!

But what's this you say about "Wilma is no big deal for Orlando?" I beg to differ, young lady! They closed the parks Monday! After the worst winds had passed they opened MK, Epcot, and DTD at 1pm. Oh, and MNSSHP on Sunday night was a total rain fest! Still had a good time, but much was changed/altered/canceled due to rain....

We were ok down in Tampa. Just knocked over a swing in the backyard....no biggie. How'd your Nor'Easter turn out?

llebrekniT Your vacation looked absolutely wonderful! Did you get to see fall leaves while you were there? I think that is one thing we're going to miss down here.

deadheadbelle Happy Anniversary! So, how many years? What'd you do to celebrate??

OK - I take it back - hopefully everyone still had a good time hunkered down while the parks were closed. I think we all knew they would be hunkered down for at least a little while while it passed. I was shocked to hear someone over on the cruise boards who lives in Cape Canaveral talk about the flooding in Cocoa Beach but our condo was fine. No one told us the area was experiencing flooding - but alas, we have crappy property managers.

So, for everyone wondering about the effects of Wilma on us - here is a photo of Stowe, VT from this morning:

Now, this certainly was not what it looked like where I live when I woke up, but it was for my Mom who is about an hour south of this.

Wilma just shook us with winds and super dooper rains making the Nor'Easter even worse. But everyone has power again and its over now.

Oh sure it does. :) Sometimes for as long as ten, fifteen minutes at a time. :teeth: You have my sympathy sweetie. And I really, really hate to say it, but - just wait til he nears those pre-teen years. Crikey, it's baaaaaddddd.

Bluebayou - the cabin was in the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. :)

Morning! I just made contact with a DISer about joining their Illuminations cruise on Thu night! :cool1: I've never done one before, so it will be another "first" to add to my list for this trip.

Awesome! We did one of those once, for DFIL's birthday. It's an absolute treat, soak it in and enjoy every minute. Oh and I highly recommend getting that cake -whether it's anybody's birthday or not. :teeth: I'm super jealous of you now - a cruise - meeting up with DIS'ers and now and Illuminations cruise to boot! You are a party animal!

....our 2-year-old was MIA. I found her on her bed with a 13 ounce tub of target brand vasoline opened. She was applying it very liberally to her face, hands, arms and feet.... She probably had about half the jar on her body....She was so happy with herself. Sherry

:rotfl2: Please, please tell me you took pictures? If you didn't, that's ok, I'm sure she'd oblige you in recreating the whole scenario again. :teeth: Definitely one for the memory book. I have a two year old daughter too. She loves to get into mischief, it's her thing, it's what she does. She did a beautiful, yet simple, landscape drawing on one of our walls not long ago. Wasn't that nice of her?

Nice snow Castlegazer. Not! yuck, yuck, yuck, but the picture is beautiful.

Hi Kadaten! Didn't have much in the way of color change on our trip, it's running really late this year in these parts. You have deciduous trees there, right? Don't you get the color change when they drop the leaves, or does it just happen all of a sudden? Like, if you plant a red maple, what would happen in "fall" there? So, did you meet up with any DIS'ers on your trip?

Good morning everyone :sunny:

BlueBayou - I just read your story about DD and the Vaseline :rotfl: We use Vaseline for Katie too - I call it mediciane for her butt ;) (because she gets alot of bad diaper rashes). I can't believe your DD spread it all over -how funny, but what a mess!!! You'll never forget this :teeth:

castlegazer - Stephanie's played hide-and-seek with me too before without me wanting to participate. You do start to panic when they are aren't responding when you call for them - they'll understand when they have kids themselves someday. My mom always wished I would have a child just like me someday - and that child is Stephanie ;)

kadaten - I'm glad to hear that Hurricane Wilma did not give you guys much damage - that's good news!!! :)

To everyone else - Hello!!! :wave2:

Well, I gotta run - have a good day everyone!!!

Kadaten Glad Wilma swept by with narry a scratch :)

NC Belle Are you and Beast back yet and did Wilma give ya'll much trouble? :confused3 Please check-in ASAP...your cheesecake buddy is a'worrying! :guilty:

Castlegazer Can't believe you guys got snow already! :cold:

Cheeringmom Still down with the flu? Hope you're better soon

Geffric Are your boys dressing up for Halloween and what about trick-or-treating? Jordan's all for it but I was wondering what age is too old :scratchin

So, geffric while your plane is landing I'll be watching Illuminations, God willing and if the creek don't rise. I'll jump in a cab at the Y&BC and head 'home' right after. So, now I need a new dining plan for that night, I think. Can't do Kona at 7:40P now, so what do you all suggest for the 'greater Boardwalk area' for din-din?
 You'd rather take an Illuminations cruise rather than watch Loverboy with the rest of us 80's throwbacks? ;) :p Just kidding ya, the cruise sounds wonderful and once again, you've got me totally jealous!:tilt:

QOTD: What's everyone dressing up as for Halloween? :confused3

Oh, and speaking of Star Wars geeks, if you've got one (or two or three) at your house, Walmart has a cool Pez Star Wars collector's edition...contains most of the characters from Episode III...way cool stocking stuffer for your little Jedi Master! ::yes::

Just keeping my buds up on the latest and greatest ;)

Dedicuous? What's that? ;) Nah, I know, but honestly, we don't really have any, I think. Looking from my window I see palm, live oak, and pine, which all will stay pretty green, I think. Maybe some of the scrubby looking stuff back in the woods might change colors, but I'm not sure. I'll let you know in a few months when we have more cool days back to back. It's actually been chilly here in the mornings, and was downright COLD on Monday, but it's still getting pretty warm every day. I remember the year we lived in Pensacola, we actually FORGOT about trees turning colors since we didn't have them. When we went to Atlanta for a weekend in October we were stunned on the interstate.....all of a sudden there were beautiful orange, yellow, red, green, and brown leaves on the trees on both sides.....we hadn't seen or even remebered fall colors! That's probably how it will be this year....'cept we won't make it to Atlanta until Thanksgiving, and by then it will be too late to see colors!

Nope. Didn't see any DISers while we were there. Did keep an eye out for lime green and shirt designs from the t-shirt thread, but with most people in ponchos on Sunday and newly bought sweatshirts on Monday and Tuesday, we didn't see many t-shirts at all! Maybe next time! When is your troupe headed down again?

QOTD:

Well, mine went to MNSSHP and will be going againtrick-or-treating as Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip :)
DH and I went in tie-dyed Mickey shirts in Halloween colors and will probably be "mom and dad" for the actual trick-or-treating!

This is actually my first year that I have an actual costume party for adults. So I had to cull something together this week - total procrastinator here.

My son is going to be Tonka Joe - had I known when I brought home a free screener of the Tonka Tough Trucks movie with Tonka Joe in it that this would be his life, his everything, his reason for breathing, I would never have let it come into our front door. The movie was a flop in the theaters (you probably have no idea what the heck I am talking about - see, flop) and the toys all got discontinued. So I stocked up on what I could before that happened, made his costume out of a Nascar driver costume and told him it was what Tonka Joe would wear and used some mental manipulation to pull that off, and I hope that this phase somehow passes with what we have now. He is always so dissapointed that no one knows Tonka Joe.

I am going to be Hermione Granger - I have the Gryffendor robes, the wand, and a tie - and my husband is going to be a shabby old Wizard (the costume looks like Dumbledore, but we don't have a wig and beard - so thus, shabby old Wizard). We actually look pretty cool. I had to use a child's Harry costume for me, so I may say that I am Hermione hexed by a growth spell as the robe is a wee bit snug and doesn't come down to the floor.

We went to the party on 10/25 as a tourist from NC and a 22 year-old co-ed student named Tink.

We catch up with y'all later---Jessie should be done soon from her beauty treatment from the doggie salon side of her country club.

:confused3 So what did ya like the best this time? Soarin was great and loved the halloween party.
:confused3 Was it scary during Wilma? We slept in and played video games and had spilt a Mickey Rice Krispy treat for brunch on Monday am/afternoon. We had Pina C. mixer on ice with Malibu Rum after our lite dinner at ESPN Club. We went to Epcot at 2pm and sat outside table for lunch.
:confused3 Where all did ya eat? Les Chefs de France, Spoodles, Alfredo's, Rose and Crown, Cosmic Ray's, Everything Pop (yuck), Boardwalk to Go, Main Street Bakery, Aloha Isle, French F&W booth, Japan booth, Spain booth, toberlone from Germany, Kringla, Tusker House, Beaches and Cream (2 times), Espn Zone, and several other places
:confused3 Was F&WF to die for? We did not sample a lot of booths like I thought we would. Yesterday we were first in line to get tickets for the 1:30 pm beer tasting. NC Beast tried some sushi for the first time.
:confused3 Did ya run into anyone from the DIS? We ate dinner with OF, RRBB, Ian, and of course the dragons at CRT---we may have seen some others.
:confused3 How many times did Beast ride Thunder Mountain RR? We went to MK a lot this trip---so at least 7 times.
:confused3 Did ya like where ya stayed? Pop Century---too much too get into detail right now---so basically that place is definitely off our list for a very, long, long time. We had an awesome Boardwalk view studio room at BWV. Loved DME
:confused3 Was Jessie happy to see mom and dad? :dog2: She is giving me the cold shoulder.
Answers, woman, I need answers! :p :Pinkbounc

Jessie is crying the "I got to go pee right now" song. Be back soon.
