They are tied to the reservation number. That way when someone cancels a trip, which lots of people obviously do, there aren't millions of ADR's that the cancelled people won't be using. Maybe I'm wrong about this but I'm pretty sure when you cancel a room only or package, the ADR's are lost.
Nope, folks making ADRs never even ask for a reservation number. If they ask what hotel you're staying at it is only for the "180+10" rule(if that will still exist) for onsite guests.
It's only linked to a phone number, especially considering you can make ADRs if you're offsite, live in Orlando, etc. Canceling your reservation will NOT cancel your ADRs, tours, etc
(Another reason sometimes it's harder to get a reservation than necessary... unfortuantely there ARE dozens (hundreds?) of reservations that people make and never show up for!)
ETA: Aaaand everyone was already all over this!
