Mousesavers reporting a huge deal for first half of 2009 coming tomorrow!

If it has to be "new" sure I could just do a new one but when I cancel the old one I loose all my ADR's. And those of us caught in the stupid "gap" between 180 day and 90 day ADR limbo worked HARD to secure those stupid ADR's! I'm not sure I'm willing to give those up, pretty sure I'd loose CRT and Le Cellier.

I'm getting frustrated that I've spent all day crunching these numbers and in the end it may very well have been a complete waste of time.

You don't lose your ADRs if you cancel your reservations. That is why if you DO cancel you also need to cancel your ADRs because they are not tied together. We change our reservations around often and it's never a problem.

Ugh......this is killing me, I have to pick up my kids from school in 15 minutes!! Nobody better talk to me in the hallway!!! I have to get back!! :scared1:

Wait, so it has to be a new reservation? I've already booked and completely paid for my reservation for Jan. 20-27. Does that mean I have to book a new reservation and cancel the one I have? So I'd have to wait two weeks for them to credit back the original money I paid and then pay off the new reservation? Oh for crying out loud I don't think this is worth the hassle.

We went through this last year (for different reasons).
If you need to make a NEW reservation, you will have to cancel your current one and Disney will have to refund all of your money back. You will have to put a $200.00 deposit down for the new reservation. If it is within 45 days you will have to pay it off in full when you book it.

The good news is: Cancelling & re-booking will NOT affect your ADR's.

They always told me the ADR's are linked to the phone number you give them not room reservation, because I cancelled one time and rebooked and there was NO issue with me ADRs.

Since I just might lose my mind waiting to call them at 5,

If it is already a package you don't need to cancel and rebook. If you have a room only then you have to cancel and rebook into a package.

If the cm you spoke with told you it had to be rebooked they were just trying to get bookings to meet their quota for the month not that you had to. They can actually get in trouble for doing that

Why would you lose your ADR's? Isn't that a separate booking division?

They are tied to the reservation number. That way when someone cancels a trip, which lots of people obviously do, there aren't millions of ADR's that the cancelled people won't be using. Maybe I'm wrong about this but I'm pretty sure when you cancel a room only or package, the ADR's are lost.

I hope I get thru in less than 30 min. My DD has figure skating @ 5:30. OH No!!!

Do you think there is a code we need to book this or can we just call @5?

I hate to be the downer at this party but...I don't see a huge savings unless you planned to travel at this time anyway. Crunching the numbers, for a family of 4 ( 2A and 2C) it's still less expensive to go during the fall free dining promotion unless you stay at one of the pricier deluxe resorts.

Don't get me wrong, if this information is right it would be a good deal, I just don't think I would call it HUGE - not when FD would work better for most people.

only works better if you can go during those times. We are booked in April through May at AKL so it would work well for us. can't go in the Fall for free dining.

Does anyone know if/can you book this online with a code or will you have to call? As in years past.

When I canceled our Ressies the CM asked me if I wanted to cancel my ADR's as well or keep them. So I don't think they cancel automaticlly.

No, when you cancel a reservation you CAN request they also cancel all your ADRs ,but you don't have to. I've done this several times because I regularly change my mind about what dates I want to go, and I've never lost my ADRs.

*shrugs* Disney changed its system around this year...but at least that wasn't how it was in the past!

hopefully it will work out for everyone:lovestruc

I cancelled and re-booked a package last year, and I did not lose any ADR's that were already booked.

Nope--completely separate unless something has changed since last week when I was there :)

Sorry that is incorrect. We have changed, canceled and rebooked often and we have never lost a ADR. They are indeed tied to your phone number. Even when you do cancel, the CM will remind you to cancel your ADRs. Just last August we cancelled our package with Pop and I booked our DVC resort using points. I had no problem with my many ADRs that I had booked when holding my Pop reservation.

What about the people that make ADR's and don't stay onsite? The ADR's are tied to the phone number you give them when you call in. I have been told this numerous times.

That is why when you cancel a room reservation they ask you if you have any ADR's to cancel.

Why in the heck would they make you go through this whole cancelling thing and force you to make a new reservation? That's just completely asinine. So, cancel the reservation I have for a room at the Contemporary, send me back my money, then here make a new reservation for the EXACT SAME THING and I'll give you $200 and then pay off the rest later? What kind of stupidity is at work here?

Can someone here answer this...Do the tickets that come with the packages still expire after 14 days? I thought I read once that they expired the day of check-out.

Ugh......this is killing me, I have to pick up my kids from school in 15 minutes!! Nobody better talk to me in the hallway!!! I have to get back!! :scared1:

I feel your frustration...I have to pick my DD up at 4 pm -- which is 5 pm EST!! UGH!!! Of ALL days for her to have an after school activity.

To make matters worse, I then have to scoot & pick up DS from somewhere between 4:45 & 5:00.

We shall see. I'm lucky in that I have nothing booked & we weren't even planning on going until 2010 but if it's 4/3 this will sway me.

When we went in 2005 it was after all the Fairytale packages came out which were similar deals AND they changed the tickets but oh, by the way, we are making 10 year olds adults for food July 1 and we arrived after that with one that bumped up -- basically we went on the Premium plan at the Contemporary and paid full price (and you couldn't choose your ticket days either -- had to get exactly the same as the package)!

There were no discounts for us that year -- this is a deal for us (without or without the dining).
