Mousesavers reporting a huge deal for first half of 2009 coming tomorrow!

How exactly does this work??????

Do you get the hotel room for free also or just the tickets?????

Would there be enough savings for an Annual Passholder??????

TIA!!!!!!!
Angela

Well, if the deal is really 4/3, it doesn't help me at all because I'm only going for 5 nights at the beginning of January and can't change my plans now. Even if I could change them, if the deal doesn't include free dining, I'd have to pay to extend my dining by 2 days for 2 people, and then TRY to get ADRs for good restaurants with less than 2 months before our trip. Maybe that's why the $200 would be offered....to offset the cost of the dining plan. Then there's the change fees for the plane tickets.
Oh well....Mary did say, you can't please everyone! I'm still holding out hope that it will be a flat discount plus free dining.

I'll be in NY seeing Little Mermaid tonight. So I'll have to wait until we get back @12:30 am to find out what this huge deal is.

I wonder if they will do something like this for the Fall of 2009 as well? That is when we really wanted to go but, like I said, if it's that good of a deal we may just have to go sooner!

If we don't change to May, I sure hope Disney comes out with a "HUGE" deal for the fall of 2009. :goodvibes

First, did I calculate right?

Secondly, if this all does come about - what's the best way to go about accessing this? Should I just go ahead and book ASAP on the Disney site, pay another $200 deposit and then cancel my AAA ressie and get refunded? Or should I have my AAA agent try to change/rebook the ressie? Will I have to rebook or can I keep them?

If dining isn't part of the deal and the deal is as described then you calculated correctly. If you cancel the AAA ressie you will owe cancellation fees. What we have done in the past is to make a new reservation online or by calling WDW when the AAA agent wasn't up on the sale. Once you get the confirm on the new package you can transfer it to the AAA agent by faxing a letter to WDW so that way the AAA gets paid and they can work everything out for you so you don't get charged fees. I did call my agent before doing this though just to keep them informed and make sure I wouldn't get charged fees. If you start racking up cancellation fees it really negates the savings. Your ADRs are fine. We frequently change packages and it's never a problem.

I know this sounds bad, but we picked May for lower crowds than March/April. If it gets booked up by all of these deal people, I'm not going to be a happy camper if I end up waiting in huge lines. I can't decide if I want this deal to be really good or not now....

I have to tell you, someone wrote me about this "deal" on Expedia about 3 weeks ago. I haven't posted it on MouseSavers.com because it is clearly an error in Expedia's programming, and Expedia has been iffy about honoring such errors in the past.

Preferred rooms should be $97 that time of year and Family Suites should be $184. When I checked it several weeks ago, I realized the prices were reversed on Expedia for February 1-12 (Preferred rooms are $184, suites are $97). For January 15 and 19-31 both room types were showing $97.

When Expedia offers discounts on Disney World hotels, they are always the same as a "general public" code for the same dates and rates. Disney hasn't released any general public discounts for 2009 yet. So I am confident this is a programming error.

I'm surprised Expedia still hasn't figured out this error. If you book it, hopefully they will honor the error rate for you, but don't count on it!

Mary.
do you think that this offer includes free dining!!:goodvibes

If you cancel the AAA ressie you will owe cancellation fees.

Unless AAA charges its own fees, no one should have to pay any cancellation fees for a 2009 package at this point. Disney allows you to change or cancel your reservation without penalty up until 45 days in advance of check-in.

Im really hoping so! We just came back from a trip last month and I don't know how crazy my husband would be about the idea of going back so soon.

I was just over looking and noticed that it seemed to be an error.

I understand where you are coming from. We are booked the last week in January and from the availability it looks like it would be very quiet, exactly what we were hoping for because our trip is shorter this time.

But, think of it this way...yes you will get some people booking that had no intention of going that time of year because of the deal....and then again there are people who really can't because of reasons like school etc., whether there is a deal or not. Yes there will be more people then we thought originally because of the "deal"....but you also won't have all the other hotels (non-Disney filled to capacity)....say like in the middle of summer...or over a holiday. So no matter what there will be less crowds then those high times....and bottom line we'll be in Disney.

At least this is the speech I'm telling myself over and over:rotfl2:

Ok here is my question

I have a courtsey hold on a room and our intention was to book it last night but decided to hold out and wait for this deal. I am alittle concerned about it all and we have decided to call in a few moments and book our room. If we do book it at regular rate this morning and any of the possible deals go through as rumoured, can I call them back and have it applied to my reservation? Or should I wait and hold out till after 5pm?

Anyone?

Thank you so much! If dining is included our savings will be huge, but I'm not counting on that.

I don't see any fees listed before 45 days. Even if there is a small one, I won't mind -it may cut into the $100, but we'd still be getting a whole extra night/day, including tickets and dining.

I think I'll just be prepared to book a whole nother ressie online at 5 PM. I'm taking DD to the Gymnastics stars show tonight so I'll worry about the AAA ressie tomorrow.

Thanks for the help!!!

I think it would be fine to wait. The more people book now the less rooms they will offer with the discount. Remember there has to be availability at the hotel of your choice for your dates to be able to add a discount to an existing reservation

We have a trip booked for Dec 7-14 this year with the deluxe dining and 7 day park hoppers at WL courtyard view. I have also already purchased our MVMCP tickets and gotten some really great ADR's like Lunch at CRT after BB in the castle.

The problem is DH is really concerned about spending the money right now. I wasn't able to get any discount so this trip is costing us about 4,000. It's paid for already and it was paid cash we didn't charge it. DH is also disappointed that we won't be on the monorail, he really like GF and Poly and would love to stay in the tower at CR.

I am wondering if I moved our trip to sometime during this discount, would they charge me a cancelation fee? Like if I called today and moved it. Then went in later tonight and tried to add the discount. And would the discount be worth it? The 200 gift card would help with losing the money for mvmcp tix if we could go in February.

DD birthday is in March, but that's so expensive that it would make the discount worthless in my opinion. But if we went in late april or may or february the rates would be lower. I'm worried about being able to get any good dining adr's in february though.

Oh, I'm so confused. I don't know what to do. DH could decide in a few weeks that we just can't go in December and then this discount would be all booked up. Any advice. It will break my heart not to go at Christmastime but I would rather go sometime than not at all.

Is the deal going to be rooms only? Any pass relief? As an AP and DVC member bringing my parents in February, we're hoping for some pass offers for them since we don't need passes or room deals....

Thanks I was wondering because we booked a package directly through Disney for the last week in Jan. and was worried we would have to pay the trip insurance penalty and rebook a new reservation!
The offer coming out today? No, I don't think so.

Hmmm. Not today's but it ALMOST sounds like you know something about free dining at another time! :thumbsup2
