Mousekeeping when staying as a DVC?

I am curious how often mousekeeping will come during our stay. We are staying 3 nights in a studio, then transferring and staying the last 5 nights in a 1 bdrm. Will mousekeeping come at all during my stay?

Also, why do they have it set up that you do NOT get maid service everyday? I personally love fresh sheets and towels everyday. Is there a charge if I request fresh towels each day?

I am assuming you are using DVC points.

you won't get any mousekeeping on your first stay - 3 nights.

on your second you will get a trash/towel - the day should be on your reservation.

I don't like people in my room when I am there - so when I am not there it is even worst.

Don't buy a timeshare if you like mousekeeping. No timeshares offers housekeeping - most don't offer the trash/towel service.

You can do your towels in the washer/dryer in your room if you have a 1-bedroom and up.

if you have a studio - there is a free laundry mat to use.

if you order towels thru housekeeping you will be charged I think $6.00.

You can order mousekeeping and PAY for it.

No housekeeping services during your studio stay. On the 4th day (check in day is day 1), you will receive a trash & towel service. Basically, housekeeping will empty your trash, replace your towels and replenish the coffee, shampoo, hand soap, etc.)

Members pay (vias dues) for scheduled housekeeping services. I suppose that it was set up this way because it is a timeshare (most of which do not provide daily service) and to keep annual dues down. FWIW, I like not having maids in the room. Don't mind making the bed and washing towels myself. There is a washer & dryer in the 1 bedroom and larger units.

Yes, you can pay for housekeeping services if you like. Cost varies according to unit size and type of service.

If you want an extra set of towels, you can request one from Housekeeping. The cost is $6/set.

Good point! I totally forgot about the washer and dryer! I am not used to have one actually INSIDE my room. In that case, I'll wash my own towels and sheets. Thanks for the reminder!

I'm with you...I am not so keen on people in my room without me being there, and I like the fact that I can now leave all my make up and toiletries out and not have to worry about it!

And undies and anything else! :teeth: Just kidding of course, but I always used to pick up the room and half make the bed before mousekeeping came to our rooms anyways, so it's really no more work for me now. I like it so much better not having people in my room. My sister worked for mousekeeping during her internship and she said you wouldn't believe the dishonesty. I'll leave it at that.....

Have a great trip!

It's $10 per day for trash/tidy (extra ones) and $25 for a full clean/bed making.

We have paid for the $10 trash/tidy before. We like fresh towels, etc.

some of us still enjoy the hotel aspect of staying in DVC...and we stay in studios too. so no dryer to throw our towels in. ;)

The $10 is the same for all size units, but the $25 is only for a studio. It is more for a 1 bedroom and still more for a two bedroom. Don't recall the exact prices, right now.

Add DW and I to the list of those who prefer minimal housekeeping visits. Whenever we go to Las Vegas, no matter what luck we're having at the tables & slots, we always manage to come back right when the maid has started cleaning our room....

And Alexander - didn't anyone tell you it's not "Disney" to discuss a lady's undies? ;)

$25 Studio
$30 1 bedroom
$40 2 bedroom
$60 3 bedroom (GV)

The $10 trash & towel is a good deal on a 2 or 3 bedroom because they will replace towels in all bathrooms.
