Most famous person you have met?

Liam Neeson, Robert Wagner, Sting, Rob Lowe, SNL cast of the late nineties, Rosie O'Donnell, Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Tom Brokaw. There were quite a few more that I just can't think of right now. I worked at 30 Rock for a while so that is where I had most of my brushes with fame. Favorites were Liam Neeson, Sting and Rob Lowe of course.

We stayed at the same hotel as the Chicago Bears during their preseason game with the Cleveland Browns. We were there to visit the Cleveland Clinic but DH and my Dad ended up going to the game. My goofy Dad kept telling them jokes when we were on the elevators with them. Most of them were pretty cool about it.

Well, I didn't actually meet him, but for me this one counts as my best celebrity encounter. I'm a huge David Bowie fan, and I was front and center for the last two DB concerts I attended. During his Reality tour, I had made signs to hold up during the concert. When I held up the sign asking for him to play one of his new songs (Days), he made eye contact with me, got a big smile, said "Thank you", I said "You're welcome". And then he played it and made eye contact with me several times during it. I knew it would mean a lot for him like him to know that people are there for his new music, too.

One of his manager guys came over and asked to take pictures of my signs. My sign that said "Thank you for coming to Texas" made it onto his official website.

Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Rolling Stones, Elton John, Pete Townshend, Sting, Dan Murphy.:)

Whoopi Goldberg and Rachael Ray. I suppose Whoopi is more famous.

Before he were famous: former LA Dodger pitcher Orel Herschiser and I played on the same high school baseball team.

A few Broadway celebrities whose names are mostly unknown outside of New York.

Bob Chandler (Bigfoot monster truck owner). He took our entire 4x4 Club out to lunch & we swapped 4-wheelin' stories :)

Also have met some folks from sports & racing, but never for more than a minute at most save for Bernie Federko (hall of fame hockey player) being on my tour at Meramec Caverns when I was a guide.

Have you forgotten about Honey Boo Boo so soon???? :rotfl:

Probably, Carl Wilson (now deceased) of the Beach Boys. My late husband's band was on the road with The Beach Boys many moons ago. I have also met Bob Seger (same scenario).

Most of mine are Dallas Cowboys, so you will have to decide for yourself if they rate as "famous".

Roger Staubach
Randy White
Drew Pearson
Dion Sanders
Tony Dorset
Troy Aikman
Jim Jeffcoat

Tony Dorset was my favorite. I was working the front desk at a frou-frou auto repair place in college during my summer break. He came in and I did not know who he was. Being the plebian that I am, I asked his name... I thought my boss was going to fire me for insulting Tony. I have never seen so much sucking up. LOL :lmao: I remembered him after that and he was always very nice. ::yes::

And Reba McEntire, she is/was friends with one of my 2nd cousin's, 2nd ex wife... :cool2:

Jim Jeffcoat gave hubby and I a wedding gift. It is a very pretty picture frame and my hubby thought it was the best thing ever. :rolleyes2

I don't know how to guage fame as in who is more famous than the next...

But I think William Shatner would be the most famous.
(I was on a student committee that brought speakers to UF and as a perk, we got to meet them in a meet and greet afterwards. This was nearly 20 years ago.)

More recently met Matt Maher and his band.

Also flew with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a kid. (Back on an airline that had table seating--so I say with 5 of them as I flew as an unaccompanied minor.) not sure how many were on the flight. But I think it was around the time of a strike and there was uncertainty of they would actually be playing the Phillies that night. My parents were late picking me up and didn't believe me when I told them. Team members were still doing tv interviews at the gate, so I just pointed then out.

My husband golfed in a tournament with Will Ferrel. Then we attended a charity dinner with him and his wife that evening. Nice people.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Whitney Houston, Tom Selleck.

All through my job.

Outside of that, Al Gore is probably the most famous person I ever met. I met him because my brother (for 8 years...starting with Bush 1 and continuing through nearly the entire Clinton presidency) worked in the White House doing secure communication work. He traveled many many places on Air Force 1 and 2. Best job ever. I was so jealous of the things he got to do. He has slept IN the Kremlin, was at the 50th anniversary of D Day, and saw Nelson Mandela inaugurated. Can you imagine? He arranged for us to meet Gore, and my father (a died in the wool Republican) met President Clinton.

And, although I never had the guts to say anything, I worked out for a year or two in the same gym as the Big Man, Clarence Clemmons. He was, indeed, a big man.

Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction) and William DeVull (Alice in Chains). Although I didn't realize it was William DeVull I was talking to until after! He was standing next to me backstage watching Jane's Addiction.

Dang, I can't name a single name. I have lots of 2nd tier names though.

Oh wait, I worked with Brian Minto (heavyweight boxer) before he went pro in 2002.

Other than that, a coworker/friend of mine, his uncle was Big John Studd.

I was friends with a cousin of Brett Michaels.

My dad played basketball on the playground almost daily with Michael Keaton.

My brother played little league baseball with Matt Clement.

I think Scott Milanovich quarterbacked 1 game for Tampa Bay. He was 3rd string. Went to school with him. I accidentally (honest) flicked a piece of dissected worm down the shirt of his girlfriend in biology class when the 3 of us were paired up in a group for the dissection.

That's as close as I have gotten to any famous people.

Oh, I guess I went to school and for 1 year hung out with Brian Ellis, PA House of Representative.

Robin Williams at a 711 in San Francisco at 2 a.m in 1987. I was buying a burrito and he was getting a slim jim. If by "meet" you mean foolish gawking and adoration on my part.

Saw Shaq while in line at Tkts when he just signed with the Magic. Had shots with and conversation with Jim Gandolfini (Tony Soprano). Just saw Derek Hough in August at Mohegan Sun. He came into the restaurant we were at and had dinner a few tables away. Was at Fenway in the beginning of August and as we were getting on the elevator to get to our seats, Trace Atkins walked off and spoke to us.

I get my hair cut at the same place Brenda Lee uses. We have talked two or three times while in the shampoo chairs. I met and casually talked to the late Sarah Cannon (Minnie Pearl) two times.

A couple of my neighbors have been NFL players/coaches. I met them but they kind of kept to themselves in a tight knit circle of athletes.
