Mission Impossible star Cruise vows to eat placenta after birth
By Patrick Mulchrone
TOM Cruise yesterday revealed his latest bizarre mission..to eat his new baby's placenta.

Cruise vowed he would tuck in straight after girlfriend Katie Holmes gives birth, saying he thought it would be "very nutritious".

The Mission Impossible star, 43, said: "I'm gonna eat the placenta. I thought that would be good. Very nutritious. I'm gonna eat the cord and the placenta right there." It is the latest in a series of increasingly strange outbursts from Cruise in the run-up to the birth.

He has claimed the baby, due any day, will be delivered in total silence.

Gag, that's just way too much information to be giving the public LOL

:crazy2: I thought I was going to be sick reading that...I have never heard of such a freaky thing. What's wrong with him?????????

I think someone should smack him over the head with it instead. Or maybe Katie, for ever getting so deeply involved with this fruit loop.

Oh, where oh where has my Maverick gone?!!! :sad2:

This can't possibly be true!!!!!

And I am no Tom Cruise fan, but this can't possibly be true.

Not what I would choose to do but it has been done before.

The real question should be, who cares what he does? He is just an actor.

Okay, now I think he's just playing with us. I saw another article where it was more obvious - he talked about having the sonogram machine attached to Katie 24 hours a day.

Could be he's whacky - could be a mean sense of humor. ;)

I think the Mirror is a trash newspaper in the UK, like the National Inquirer. So consider the source.

....holy crap...what a whack job.....now that's Risky Business....tastes like chicken..........

I don't buy it. I'm the LAST person to defend TC's wackiness, but this just screams "I'm making fun of you".

this isnt as unusual as it sounds.

When I had Cameron they asked me if I wanted the placenta I said " Whatever for????" and the nurse said it was actually pretty common and that in some religions it is considered part of the birth to make a soup or something she also said its great to bury under a tree.

ummmm no thanks.... think I'll pass on all of the above..... :blech:

and just to add.... I still think he's a whack job and the above post was in way meant to add credibility to him....

The Mirror is a tabloid paper but not like the National Enquirer. The article was taken from a report in GQ magazine. There is an article on the BBC news site saying Tom has denied saying he will do this. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4918012.stm

Luvmydogs - maybe Maverick is somewhere in there afterall :teeth: Maybe he's the voice in Tom's head saying...."come on dude, you do not want to do this" :teeth:

Yeah, I have to agree with you. I mean, I don't care if he wants to do it but I really have no need to hear about it.

He laugingly said that on the interview the other night but said he was kidding. It was obviously a joke. He was talking about all the goofy rumors going around and said that.
