Hi everyone!
Nab - We didn't build on our lot because our financing fell through and it got to be where we just couldn't afford anything. We were told we could build the house for one thing and then that changed. So much drama. We ended up with paid for plans for a house no one would build us without getting in like a 40,000 profit. Now the market has dropped quite a bit and this man is licensed and works for a builder. On the side he builds their houses for other people with only a 10,000 profit. So the house will cost us 110,000. Hopefully we can talk to him and there are some other things we can do ourselves to bring the price down a bit. If not it's still better than anything else.
Marita - A small house is better than being homeless. We've been homeless for a year and a half now. It sucks. We can't rent forever, so we have to do something. With closing in the lanai and garage it will be about the same size as the house we designed. And remember, it has FOUR bedrooms! We only have 3 here and I was stressing about child placement with the new baby. Plus it's our lot that we put all our money into because at that time lots were going for upwards of 80,000 for a 1/2 acre and we got it for only 52,000. But, now we could only sell it for like 10,000. We'd hate to lose out like that. Building on it and hoping for the market to increase again one day is the best thing. Its also in the better side of town. More nice country people out there and not as much riff raff.
I might be scarce this week. Do not be alarmed. I don't have Ivy this week so I can going to my Mom's tomorrow and Tuesday and Thursday and Friday we might have to entertain Chad's crazy step mom.
We had like 3 hours of hard rain this afternoon. It was so nice!
