MommyP, yay for your new siggie princess: So tell us how a girl is different (besided the obvious, LOL)

Mony, good to see you around again, missed you! Sure do hope you make it more. Wow, sounds like quite a mess in your neighborhood, scary stuff! I had my wallet stolen out of my purse once that I left in the car while taking DD into daycare (on Disney property :sad2:) I think it only had like $20 in it, but photos of old friends that were irreplaceable.

DD had her initial round of exams for the AF this week. Tests on Wednesday, physical yesterday, and today she had to go back to Tampa to get xrays of her knee that she tore a tendon on several years ago. So waiting to see how all that turns out.

Going to be helk at work for the next 2 weeks, with budgets and forecast at the same time. I think I mentioned that already though.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

today has been a horrible day........thunder showers so severe and even those tornados and plenty of tornado warnings.....scared the you know what out of me.....give me a few feet of snow and I am fine.........No touchdowns around here but it rained out the lift off of balloons.....yup its the balloon festival time again......I would of loved to had seen a few but nothing tonight.....maybe tomorrow will be the lift offs..
Nab you be careful up there in your camping area.......the surf is very bad with BILL coming up the coast areas...
miss you all

Rise and shine!!! It's Saturday:cool1:

I woke up at the ungodly hour of 6:45 today. Why can't I do that when I have to work???

Pumba, stay safe and dry up there.

ETA: I just emptied my spice cabinet. WHy? Cause I just spent a gazillion dollars on spices last weekend, only to find that DH bought more of the same later. 4 jars of Basil leaves, 3 of them unopened, 7 kinds of meat rubs, no doubt ages old, and we rarely eat meat any more that requite rubs, the list goes on and on and on......................

I think maybe beef stew for dinner tonight, it's almost fall, right?

Pumba - Sorry you're having such bad weather. Ours isn't the greatest, but it's mainly just cool, windy, and drizzly.

Our dinner on the beach got moved inside last night. I managed to sit on the beach for a little while yesterday afternoon, but I had to wear a sweatshirt to stay warm! After dinner and the retirement festivities, I decided to drive home. I'm listening to a book on CD, so I had that to keep me company.

Mony - Nice to see you back here! One of the people I was with yesterday had their car broken into while they were canoeing and a purse was stolen :sad2: That was nice of you to look for your neighbor's things and to pick up those pills. In addition to kids picking them up, pets could eat them and get sick too.

I think we're going to go to the Renaissance Festival tomorrow if the weather isn't too bad.

MommyP - Hope your swelling was just a fluke - maybe your system is just trying to get back to normal after not having to nourish a baby. Drinking lots of water usually helps, even though that's counterintuitive.

Marita - Sorry your next couple weeks are going to be so busy. I was "attacked" by a brownie last night ;) And a couple other things I really shouldn't have eaten. It really hurt when I added up my calories for yesterday  Hopefully the higher calories revved up my metabolism! I'm riding the recumbent bike for a second half hour this evening. And doing some water aerobics in the hot tub tonight!!!

Hello ladies. I have been reading along, and am UTD on everyone, but haven't had time to post. Things seem to have slowed down an awful lot around here.

I have been running around with the kids, getting back-to-school stuff purchased, etc. Boris attended Cub Scout day camp every day this past week. DH taught archery (which meant that Boris attended camp for free!), so they got to spend some extra guy-time together. Meanwhile, Natasha hosted several playdates and her first ever sleepover this week. Her BFF stayed here last night. Shortly after BFF's dad picked her up, my brother dropped by with his 3 boys, plus brother's on-again/off-again girlfriend and her daughter. They stayed long enough to go for a swim and chat for a bit, but my bro had to get the boys back to their evil mother. :sad2:

DH went to work at his part-time job shortly before suppah, so I am now enjoying the lovely quiet of my living room all by my onesies! God even smiled on me by dropping the temp and humidity this evening. Aaaahh! I love summer evenings!

Oh...lest I forget...a while back, I asked for prayers for the 12 y.o. sister of one of Boris' friends, who had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. I am so very grateful for those prayers, because now Emma is in full remission! She is feeling well, and her prognosis is excellent! Her hair is even starting to grow back, which is great because that has been one of the hardest things for her to deal with. Just wanted to share that happy news, and thank those who added Emma to their prayers. :grouphug:

Marita - It's different because it's like having a first baby again(minus the idiotic mistakes you make with a first baby, lol.) Everything feels new and first time, plus her clothes are just too freakin cute!

Today my little sister came over with Mercedes. We had a photo shoot with the girls. It's amazing how much alike they look. My brother also took like a million pictures of Ellie. Here's a teaser.

EllieandMercedes.jpg

Can you tell who is who? When the pictures are in color their skin color differences is hilarious. Mercedes skin color looks like Edward Cullen is her Dad. She has the most beautiful porcelain skin. Ellie looks like she is going to have Chad's darker(easy to tan) coloring. Jeremiah has beautiful olivish skin, he NEVER burns, only tans.

Anywho, I can't believe she is going to be a week old tomorrow.

My swelling is better today. I did a lot around the house today and have no swelling tonight. Now that my swelling is gone I weighed myself. Only 5 pounds to go. LOL! The joys of having ginormous babies!

My iron is super low though. The nurse came out last night and it was 8.9. That's after I've been eating nothing but iron rich foods and was actually feeling better. I can't imagine how low it must have been at first. I got some iron pills today.

Pumba - Sorry about your weather and hope Bill(?) doesn't bother you too much. When I prayed him away I didn't mean for him to come so close to you. :)

Mommy P-- She is so cute!!!! Both babies are precious. Yay on losing the weight fast.

Pumba-- we had really bad weather at home while we were away. Alot of tornados touching down. Power is off at home town but my BIL went and checked on our house and our was still on thank goodness.

We are in Halifax and they are tying everything down, putting plastic on windows and doors etc. They are expecting over 100 m of rain tomorrow with high winds. If it gets to bad we will stay with my cousins in there house trailer. It has to be better then our little trailer. They said the winds may get up to 140 km/hr winds. :scared1: Hope it is all hipe and it will be only heavy rain.

Yikes Canada and hurricanes? Bill shame on you!!

Pumba - hope things clear up real soon! (btdt with the dern tornados - midwest living)

Marita - hope things run smoothly

MommyP - HOW precious is that picture?!! I can only imagine how precious irl!! Congrats all around!! :goodvibes

Nab - stay safe!!

Minnie Moo - Congrats to you - may you continue to have the determination and will power to continue your journey! I am so proud of you!! You work very hard each day!! Take it one day at a time!! Keep on keepin on!!

Lali - PTL - so glad the prayers are adding comfort to all!! PTL for these cool summer evenings as well!!

DH still hasnt heard any positive job vibes!! DS #2 runs his first triatholon on Sunday!

DH and I are celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary!! :goodvibes:goodvibes I'm so lucky, so blessed!! So grateful!! Hoping to Priceline a hotel in downtown Chicago next weekend (leaving dd with DS#1) *beg

Sandy, congrats on your anniversary! :bride: Hope you can make your getaway. Sending prayers for DH's job search  s

Nab, scary about a big storm at any time, but especially in a trailer. When DS was like 1 week old, a hurricane came to town, and we lived in a mobile home then, so we evacuated to my BIL's apartment, where there was a hurricane party going on and there may or may not have been some skinny dipping in the pool :rolleyes1 (but not by yours truly with a new baby). I thought you'd be home today? Anyway, stay safe!!

MommyP, great picture! I have a similar one of my DD and her cousin (boy) when they were babies. You were not kidding about photo session, I saw your post on FB, LOL.

Moo, Renaissance fair sounds interesting, I'd like to go to one, but we don't have any around here (close anyway) Knitfreak belongs to some
renaissance group though, so I know they have clubs around. Only 2 1/2 weeks till her wedding, WOW! :bride: A baby is next on the agenda for her.

Lynt, reading but not posting is what makes things slow :sad2: . But things are always slow in the summer around here. Wonderful news about Boris' friend!!

Celery, where are you??????

Well, since I got up so early this morning and DH was at work, I worked from 8 till noon, then lounged around, did some grocery shopping for dinner, finally finished sorting out spices and threw out a bunch of jars. By that time, it was getting late for making stew, so DH made cheese noodle casserole, but at least I got meat and veggies all cut up and ready to go for tomorrow. About 6pm I crashed for a 3 hour nap, LOL, so now I'm wide awake. Tomorrow I'm sleeping in for sure so DH can have his alone time reading the newspaper.

those are 2 lil' :littleangel:, pink..or no pink! so beautiful too!

guess..we all know...who they're taking afterwards~:thumbsup2

oh, my guess?...probably your vascular system..resetting itself,

mp...you're not 20...anymore? [ * i wouldn't worry to much, unless
...you start having breathing diffculties].

....moo? ...we're still mulling over dvc. [ contracts are on the way],

.....we done more disney vacations..the last 10 years, but we also
...done 6 cruises.....& from what...i can tell.....dvc..isn't great for
cruising? :confused3. but the btl..is the type..of resort...that fits
our family needs. here's the factors...we are using to decide. health.
we are pretty healthy. & we are nearing..retirement, :scared1:.

....& we have pretty good retirements. we like..the area outside
wdw, and could expand...our "adventures". and we're....thinking
of moving..to fla., afterwards. 321..points...will make it easy to
divide by 3. ..and we like "encouraging"..our kids...toward doing
disney vacations..when we're long gone.

....so sorry backie, of the recent deaths @ disney. esp. the last
one, when "it" dosen't make sense. however, * i think...if they
did a "recent history"....i can't help....& wonder...if he had
suffered from./..previous "hair-line" neck fractures...weakening
his spine....making him "suspect" . we take for granted..how fragile,
how precious...our life~sustaining systems...until they fail,
failed. we...know....certain sports can result in "damages", where careers
are ended,..to prevent further injuries....sometimes, what we don't
consider "dangerous" ~ { ie, "preformers"} ....? .....so if we are

...to prevent future ...."accidental deaths"..maybe..those doing~
"stunts"...esp. "bouncing/flipping manuevers .....have x~rays q year?
...another high risk....activity, cheer leading. :rolleyes1

..somethings...we automatic think of physical, ~football....we miss
....from others....acrobating.

well it won't..be long....before....i go rocking chair shopping. :happytv:

no matter/s, the older..i become, the more impress....i am with living
life. :flower3:

pssssst, wanta hear what i think..makes a true princess:? one who
values..act of kindness. & who gave me such a pixiedust: insight?

....my lil'cutie pie, of course! { she may be pass her early 20's,
but she still does..all her girly ways.....:lovestruc

and soooo no one is mislead...., here's the real me.....pirate:,
oh..i can be a real stinker....mostly,i have no tolerance..to mean
people, & have no problem...toward redirecting, or setting limits.

...on the pc cruise..and my "run in"..with the iconko ~ "lady", per
taking..on liberties....., anyhoot'her .....when she decribed my
use..of "language"....she left out, her + husband "mouthing"
curse..words ,over the cm....excused..me!.....i addressed her on
the spot! ,

....we are marshall, is on tv....right now. that story, was a part of
my life...but @ the time.....it was way beyond....my understanding.
after the game, the locker room was the biggest celebration...i
ever seen. ...before the game, our whole high school team...was
seated right behind the herd's bench....[ 2 of our teammates were
playing for the herd...& both made the winning td]. there was no
expectation...for the herd....to even come close..to win a game,
....however, that didn't stop....us, from "rooting" ...as soon as
they entered the field..every play, every second. * fyi..the winning
td..was scored by terry g. , made possible,,, by a "block"...by dave
h., ....our 2 teammates.....sadly, neither lived..to see their movie.
oh. the td...was scored....with appox.....3o seconds..left., not zero.

.....all made possible, with the help..of west v. 's coach......????
...you know..him, as fla. state's legend, b. bowden. shame..on
anybody....trying to force ....his retirement. one of the nurses i used
to work with.......graduated from fla. state....& was a big, big fan.

now, i realize...where my insights came from, those that share my
life..with.....& some of the things..i 've believe.....?

......why live life by the rules..when others are so willing to take
advantage?...because one becomes...what they practice [ if one
practices stealing..then one becomes a thief.] , & the things most
important.....to any value system, is largely..based on what a
person..is willing to give to others.

*..and what makes this system..works..wasn't by accident. is my
way..of thinking

i'm no saint, but i have more dream come true than one can imagined.
...before "make a wish",,there was cripple children org.., life...&
living well..are 2 different things, but if one practices..they can be
united....& if one find the desire to improve ...the ways things are...
& apply that thinking to self improvement..then the goal will be
fulfilled.

..we are marshall!~:yay:..that whats..the movie..reminded me......,

so?...what have life taught & given you...today?

psst..is wt out & about?

Lynette - It's great to hear the good news about Emma! Hope you're still having swimming weather.

It's chilly and overcast here again, so we decided not to go to the Renaissance Festival today and slept in instead. Besides, I figured out that it's biker weekend, so we'll see if the weather is better next weekend when the theme is Highland Fling. Maybe there will be lots of men in kilts

MommyP - That photo is adorable! I love it when there's a touch of color in black and white photos like that :)

Marita - Knitfreak's wedding should be fun! Sounds like you've had a productive weekend :thumbsup2

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, SANDY!!! Hope you found a good hotel deal :goodvibes I haven't been to Chicago for quite a while, but we have always had a great time there.

Lil G! w00t on the DVC contract!!! Are they giving any incentives right now? If not, maybe you should wait until they are. I don't think that using DVC points for cruising is the best use of them, but it sure would be nice to stay at BLT or another DVC resort before a cruise. I received matching points for staying at Saratoga Springs as an incentive, but recently the incentive was for a three-day cruise, I think. Hopefully, you got in on that!

LIL'G, go for BLT, w00t!!!

Moo, hope your weather improves.

Trying to plan this frigging 4 day trip to CA is like pulling teeth, as DS is not sure about graduation time, if he has that day or day before off, when he has to be back, etc. When he can leave for Montana, whether or not DH can go with him, on and on and on.....

At least I think we got planned so far, leave here 7am Thursday, get to St. Barbara at noon. May rent a car, may get picked up by Chris, still not sure. Anyway, one day rental is only about $23. Graduation is Friday afternoon at 3 (he THINKS, but not sure). If so, we leave there around 4:30 or so, 3.5 hours to Anaheim. I have a hotel picked out, right across the street from DL.
Next discussion point is what kind of room to book. 1 room with 2 beds is $280 for 2 nights. DH wants 2 rooms, so that is $560. Family suite is $460, 4 beds, I like that one, but man, I HATE spending that kind of money on a hotel room. At least it has free continental and a fridge and microwave and fireworks view from rooftop pool.

Really not all that much I want to do at DL, really just look at the place and soak up the atmosphere, ride Haunted Mansion and Pirates which are supposed to be much better, check out DCA and DTD, maybe eat at Blue Bayou. And of course check out the Disney owned hotels.... so basically, it will be 1 full day there, plus maybe part of night on Friday, since DD and probably I have to fly back Sunday morning. OR I could stay a little longer and leave from St. Barbara if DH drives to Montana with son and help with packing and just hang around for a couple of days. Just don't know right now, and I dont know when we will know since Chris has to wait for his orders to schedule anything. GRRRRRRRRR

Hey everyone! And Marita! I've been reading, just not posting much. I decided to take last Friday and this next week off from work. I'm getting my house organized.
Mama cel helped on Saturday, breadman helped today and my grandmother is spending the night to help tomorrow.
woo!

I got a shelving unit and some bins to organize my material and craft stuff.

and I FINALLY got everything that doesn't belong to me out of here! woo!
I'm hoping to have everything done tomorrow so I can spend tuesday through sunday baking cakes and sewing. :hippie:

Cel, yay for getting your place organized.

I have been thinking a lot lately about getting my house ready to sell in a few years. We have 12 gazillion big plastic bins with stuff in the garage. What stuff, you ask? I have no idea, we haven't looked in those bins in years, which is an indication it probably needs to be pitched. BUT, it needs investigation, thus time..... grrrr.

Big L complained about it being slow and said she was reading and not posting, just saying...............

Some freaky bug with big wings just landed on me, EEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

OH, MOO, btw, knitfreaks wedding might be fun, but it;s in upstate NY, so I won't be there

PS: fresh sliced strawberries sprinkled and soaked in sugar and covered with whipped cream are heavenly!

My family is at it again.

I have a friend who is planning on delivery at the birth center is October who e-mailed me last night in a panic because apparently yesterday my sister and brother(both of which were not at the birth mind you) were telling her about all the horrors that were the birth center. That the place was filthy(come on now you all know me well enough to know that I wouldn't give birth someplace filthy :rotfl:) and they let me almost bleed to death. Let me give you exhibit A:

What bleeding to death looks like, apparently.
ry%3D400

:rotfl: Can you see the Grim Reaper hovering over my shoulder?

I am so hurt and Chad is PISSED. You all read my story, I had no negative thing to say about it. Did I bleed? Yes, I would have bled no matter where I delivered it was my 6th baby and my uterus stopped contracting. Did they let me almost bleed to death? No, after a few minutes passed and it wasn't working they gave me something to start up contractions. (can't remember what, it was stronger than pitocin though.) As soon as my bleeding was handled I ate, drank and felt fine. Then I passed out because my BP dropped suddenly. Would you like to know how many times that has happened at the hospital? Three, three times I passed out(all in the bathroom mind you) and the reason why is because my nurse was forcing me to get up so she could get the beds changed out. Anyway, after I woke up I was okay, just a little dizzy(like I ALWAYS am after giving birth). They gave me IV fluids, but had a really hard time getting it in my arm because I was dehydrated(we all know that happens in the hospital ALL THE TIME). But apparently they were incompetent. Ugh. Next baby is going to be just Chad and me and that's it. This is the final straw, to go around telling people all these things just makes Chad and I look irresponsible for not having the baby in the hospital. Clearly we are both FINE. :headache:

Yes it is very different!!

Today I finally feel more human. My stinking legs started swelling on Wednesday. This morning they were back to normal, but after going out to the peds today they are swollin again, I went my whole pregnancy without any swelling and now it's here. :confused3

My legs swelled after I had my first girl. :rotfl:

Drink lots of water and try to keep your legs up, esp during feedings. I'm sure they told you that already.

Spinach is a great iron rich food and goes well with eggs in the am if you can't handle it alone.

I love the picture you posted above with Ellie and your niece.

We got a surprise today. Zach got invited to spend next summer traveling to Australia. It's an education exploration program founded by Dwight D. Eisenhower. I need to go to the web site and look into it more. Peopletopeople.com and there's a parent meeting in October.

I finally got an offer from another diser to take over my fridge swap. Whew! So thankful cause school starts this week. I have an on-line math class, I'm on 2 waitlists for Education classes and now I want to see if I can find a sign language class. This is not required, but I feel it would be very beneficial for me and the field I am going to be in (Special Ed).

Moo, it's official. I have been on my diet religiously for 12 days. I lost 6 1/2 pounds so far. My husband has lost 10+. I'm walking almost an hour a day and he did a total of 10 mins on the punching bag. Those silly men!!!!

Remind me to post some pics of our UP Adventure on here with some semi-witty commentary.

Did I mention we are going to Cancun in Dec? Enough said.

Have a glorious day and I hope your class goes well tonight Twinks!

I also want to know how UM's date went last night? What movie did you see? Did you like it? Did you smell nice? Did he? :rotfl:

Hi Melinda (Miss you), Nab (Hope you had a great Vacay), Marita (DL? Yea for you!), Sandy (Happy Anniversary), Pumba (hope those hurricane winds calm down), LG,WT, Lynette, BBN, PJ, (ready for school?) Cel and MamaCel!!!(Breadman?)

Monica - No more swelling. Thankfully. It was annoying.

I got on the scale this morning and only have 2lbs to lose. lol!

I loved the b & w pics of the girls, MommyP.

As for bleeding to death in a hospital vs. baby center, well we all know bbn's $uck. :upsidedow Seriously, I'm glad you all are doing well.
