Laundry room before....

Basement015.jpg

This picture is actually what is front of the dryer in that room...

Basement011.jpg

Laundry room after....sorry I was trying to show you the floor not the whole room.

BasementJuly2009196.jpg

I will have to show a better laundry picture when the laundry tub and upper cabinet is put in beside the washer/dryer.

Main room... we don't have the post cover on that post yet... it will be a white column And of course the fireplace goes in that corner, it is only roughed in.

BasementJuly2009200.jpg

This is the mount of junk we had in that corner....

Basement008-Copy.jpg

This is the long wall in same room....only thing that didn't go upstair is my treadmill that in front of the TV. That got moved around a lot and is now in the utility room.(didn't show that , hubby say it should stay in there and say we have a gym but if I did that I would have my Christmas stuff stored in the main room ....)

Basement009-Copy.jpg

the window beside the TV is going to be this big when it comes in.....Wanted a big window to be able to get out in case of fire or what not. Two windows will open up so you can get out the center easily.

BasementJuly2009041.jpg

Stairway.....before

Basement017.jpg

After....

BasementJuly2009202.jpg

Stairway , under the stair storage..(it has a light in there almost a small room),Washroom to the left...Laundry is to the right of the stairs.

BasementJuly2009192.jpg

Must be a glare on the first picture it looks like there is white spots on the wall but there is not....

For some reason I can't find the old office pictures...just think lots of books, an old desk covered with lot of junk , a press bench and lots of boxes of crap.

BasementJuly2009194.jpg

the little alcove thing is what they call our fruit cellar, what a laugh that is...we are going to make shelves and a cabinet on the bottom for more storage. ( that is my water meter in the close) The above doors go on the closet.

BasementJuly2009201.jpg

There is a plastic on the windows that we have to remove yet. It makes it easy to paint and don't have to scrape the paint of later. This room is across from the stairs.

This room didn't have a closet either that is where those food shelves are in the old laundry. This room could now be a bedroom too since we are putting in a big window down there.

Wide baseboard is going on too.....

Thanks for the pics, Nabbie, looks like some fabulous improvements

DD came over tonight for some leftovers and to go grocery shopping in our pantry then left again.
Got my nails done this afternoon, I needed new tips, so dragged on the agony to 1 1/2 hours:scared: But I got my wine shopping done for 2 weeks today, so that's good. I thawed out chicken livers but I didnt feel like chopping onions, so I made chili for dinner. instead.
There is absolutely nothing on TV tonight, so I'm watching reruns of Golden Girls and working on the baby blanket that may or may not ever come to be.

howdy peeps......its me

IT was actually a nice day today ......first one in years.....well for a long time anyways.....but now it is cold...go figure....

Today we went to our neighbors birthday party......she turned the big 40.......I also care for her son.......we brought deviled eggs and macaroni shrimp salad....loads of food for everyone......they are continuing their party at another location and called to have us go to that one.....but I took off my upper bolder holder and didnt want to put it back on....I know I am lazy......

Nab your area is coming along so great......I love the idea of a root cellar......my mil had a big one and yes they put potatoes and apples and beets and things like that in it.....we have a cellar cellar.....but I have the big crocks that belonged to my great grandmother.....they would make pies for a week and put them on top of each other ....I dont have the lids but they are neat to keep around...there must be four or five of those......

Our doggie is going to the vets on monday for a blood recheck..she has been acting funny ....panting and excessive water drinking and chasing us around......that is good I know for that .....she also is itching like she has fleas....which she doesnt......so she may be having to much of the thyroxine drug....we will find out.......

Hope you are all well and keeping cool or warm.....wherever you may be..

Pumba, good to see you again. I was thinking about you today and that you have been missing a few days. LOL about the bolder holders, I know what you mean. Not that I have much to hold  but it's the comfort factor.

Root cellar reminds me, we used to have a big bin for potatoes down in the cellar too. I was never too fond of going down there...

Just talked to DS about coming out for his graduation. He'll be busy up till the end with tests, graduation is on a Friday, he has to check out on Monday. So preliminary plan is that DH and I fly up sometime that week, drive down to DL (or maybe better just fly to LA and drive UP), but anyway, visit DL for a couple of days, then go to graduation, then do a wine tasting tour the weekend. Only issue might be a conflict with DH getting time off as the other manager in his area already has time off booked :headache: So remains to be seen how that works out.

PS: I just ordered a free DL vacation planning DVD, woohoo!

I KNOW!!! MP complains about the heat all the time... That's July in Fla for ya
Good one, Marita! Glad you got out and about today. You might want to do some DL research on-line because it may be awhile before your DVD arrives.

WT - You sure do find the most interesting photos ;)

Nabbie - I can see what you mean about the tile. That certainly was not installed on a 45 degree angle. I think they ought to re-do it for you. That sure is a major change to your basement! Looking forward to seeing pics when it's all finished.

The weather mostly behaved for the pool party at my brother's new place today, but I didn't stay very long because so many of my brother and SIL's friends and family were smoking and there was no where to sit where it wasn't blowing toward me except for in the sun. They did a nice job rehabbing the pool, but are still working on repainting parts of the house. After I left, I went over to the state park and sat on the beach (Lake Michigan) for about an hour until the clouds rolled in.

Pumba - We sure have had our fair share of cool weather this summer too! Hope the vet can fix Megara up.

MommyP - The baby just wants to meet her brothers!

Sandy - Hope you had some decent lake weather today!!! Just turn up the radio on an oldies station on the way home :lmao:

Speaking of weather, there is a thunderstorm coming my way. Sky is getting black and thunder rumbling in the distance. Thanks goodness I don't have to go anywhere today.

Moo, sorry you had to leave the party early :(.

I did do some DL research last night (only a little), but I posted a thread on the CB and got a couple of responses. Havent checked it today. I pulled up the DL site on the Dis, but havent looked at it yet. looked up rates for the cheapest DL hotel (Paradise Pier), but it was still like $250 a night, too rich for my blood! I might be able to get a DM discount, subject to availability, I'll have to check it out. I can't imagine them being booked in October, but you never know. Airfare so far not too bad, $268 round trip. DS said DD just paid over $500 when she went. I think it gets more expensive to closer in you book (at least for Germany), have to check that out too. Instead of doing alll this research, I have been working, LOL, I need a life! But I want to get this file ready for testing on Tuesday morning.

Gotta get my butt in gear and start cooking, UGHHHHH!

Nab - Not diabetes. I'm not hungry(I have to force myself to eat) and I'm not thirsty(just forcing myself to drink enough to be healthy) and I've only gained 17 pounds(now that I lost 2 again), so I have no signs of diabetes. lol.

You basement looks GREAT!

Thanks for all the nice comments on the basement. A lot of details yet to finish but at least I do see an end soon. Hopefully before the kids go back to school in Sept...:lmao:

Mommy P-- good to know it is not diabetes. I saw your picture on Facebook. Your really sticking out front now. Did you ever get your clothes down from the attic?

Marita-- I am just glad your going on a vacation...really need one. And bonus you get to see your son.

Moo-- we have been having weird weather all week. Heavy rain, sunshine , then more heavy rain out of the blue.....:confused3 I told you that was not the angle on the laundry room I was looking for. Hope the guy coming on Monday can do something for me...what I am not sure. It would be a pain to have to rip it all up since it is glued down to the cement floor.

Pumba-- I remember my grandparents having a root cellar in the farm house. They had fenced in areas one for potatoes, others for something else. The floor was dirt and steps to the outside where they have those slanted plank doors you see in movies. I can even remember the earth smell down there, didn't like going down there either because it was dark.

Went to see The Proposal with Sandra Bullock. Hannah went with me while hubby and Nicholas went to see Harry Potter for the second time. Really liked it Betty White was hilarious :rotfl:

Nab - He went up there and got the swing and bassinet part of the pack n play, looked at all the other boxes(there aren't many) and they aren't there. So I have NO idea what happened to them or where they could be. I did find 1 green and 1 yellow sleeper and my sister gave me 1 sleeper that could go either way and some onsies. I guess that's all this baby is going to have. Once we find out it's a boy for sure we'll get out the boy clothes, but that will probably take a couple days. So I needed some things until then. You know how much they ruin their clothes. lol. If it's a girl we won't be able to go shopping for at least a week. We'll have to take the baby into the pediatrician sometime between 2-3 days. But I don't think I will be ready to go into Target or Walmart by then. lol.

MommyP, if it's a girl, she won't care what she wears (yet!), For outing to pediatrician, just glue a pink ribbon to her head, LOL.
Honestly, stop fretting about clothes, as long as the baby has a diaper and clothes, its all good :cloud9:

And mom's milk and diapers....

Whoa. Did I miss something? No posts since 6pm LAST night? WTHeck?

Instead of editing, I'm posting again to boost my count. ;)

I cleaned out my walk in closet today so you can actually walk into it. And I cleaned out the linen closet that's in my room. Then my brother came over and we cleaned out the inside of the truck. He did all the vacuuming and I did the wiping down and windows. Ick. It was so nasty. We got all the car seats securely buckled in where they all need to be and got the baby's infant seat base in also. Then we went to his house and swam for a while, it's stinking HOT. I actually made dinner(does a Voila meal and premade garlic bread count?) AND cleaned it up. I am tired, thankfully and hoping I get a good nights sleep.

No posts today? Looks like all the action was over on FB!

My hubby is on a work trip this week, driving around in the Upper Peninsula . . . so I have the TV all to myself. w00t!

Morning all. I spent yesterday in NYC.
I got drenched!
I think I ruined my GPS.
But it was fun.
:thumbsup2

Tonight Bachelorette Tells all after the final rose!! (its all so contrived!) Watched the Family America on NBC - :rotfl2: I used to wish I did something like that (Take the kids on an RV tour on Route 66!!) a few miles of that would be ok - - thousands of miles, not so much!!
