Marita Glad you mother is going somewhere she knows other people. At her age you want her happy all the time if possible.
The weather is beautiful today 75 degrees with a nice breeze. It should be 90 or more. I have been working in my flowers. I work 5 mins. rest 15 min. Oh Well Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I think Celery is at Breadman but he is only friend. :confused3:confused3

Melinda! Your garden sounds amazing!!!!! Nothing life changing around here. Baby is due in 4 weeks and all has been cleared for a V birth at the birth center.

Went to the beach today. It was hot, but a good time. We got there about 10:30 and were heading out of the parking lot at 1:15. The water temp. was 85, better than the 91 it was a week or so ago.

Doesn't look like I'm ever getting my neutral baby things down. Chad went up there this morning and he didn't put the box close to the opening(like I told him to do months ago when we put it up there) and then he saw...heaven forbid....a spider. So he won't go back up. I'm afraid the baby will be clothed in only a diaper until I can get up in the attic after birth. I have 4 boy receiving blankets that will have to do. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrating. I wish we had a ladder that wasn't a POS so I could just get up there myself.

MommyP, woohoo on your ticker! Last stretch!

DH and DD went to see Harry Potter this afternoon at 4:10 pm, and now its almost 9 and still not home, and neither one will answer the phone GRRRRRRR! So I am sitting here worried

DD just called, DH is on the way home. I swear, these people have no consideration!

NEWSFLASH!

Doctors expect a surge in thumb joint replacement surgeries in the next few years due to too much texting....

Too bad PJ is not around for this warning.

I'll be sure and text her that information. Thanks Marita. :thumbsup2 (note the ironic use of the THUMBS up smiley)

EVERYBODEEEEEE: Thanks for all the lovely comments about my disney pics. Y'all are the bestest. *smooches* all around!

Celery! Coming to Lexington for one week only? Do you still have my cell phone number? It's the same.

MP..........Is it a princess this time? Or are we keeping the mystery alive? I saw your beach pictures on FB. Your boys are precious-adorable!

Marita....So happy you're getting your mom in somewhere where she has some friends and stimulating conversation. It really makes all the difference. By the way, HP is a lohoonnng movie but not 5ish hours long.

Twink? Twink! Is it so? Congratulations! How far along are you? Any chance it could be twins again?

I'll be sure and text her that information. Thanks Marita. :thumbsup2 (note the ironic use of the THUMBS up smiley)

I am sure she will appreciate that! :thumbsup2 (no thumb joints were harmed in the posting of this smiley)

Busy weekend for me - it's great having Mari home! There was a bit of a snafu with her flight, so she's not going back until Monday (YAY!) :yay:

The wedding was this afternoon. It was fun to see relatives we hadn't seen for quite a while. Our nephews both looked very handsome - the one who was Best Man is a Marine and he wore his dress uniform instead of a tux. We didn't stay very late because Mari needed a ride to visit with some friends and then she was planning to go to the wedding after-party.

Lex!!! Great to see you! Sounds like you and the kids are doing well :) I've lost 77 lbs so far. I decided to live it up tonight and had some wedding cake and one adult beverage, so that'll probably slow things down a bit . . . but I've been doing water aerobics twice a week and strength training twice a week to try to do some toning as I lose weight and keep the scale moving in the right direction. So far, so good!

Lynette - Glad to hear your weather has finally decided to behave so you can enjoy the pool. It was pretty chilly here today. I was happy that I grabbed my lightweight sweater on the way out the door. There were a few raindrops during the wedding ceremony, which was outdoors. I'm sure the harpist was getting nervous about the weather. Fortunately, it never really rained.

Marita - Glad to hear your brother found a good place for your mom :goodvibes I know those places are $$, but if you can find one where your family member has some friends and is happy, that makes all the difference.

Marita......it is hell when we have to place our parents .....but it was the only thing we could do and I am sure that it was the only thing best for your mama too....My mil had gone to an assisted living home....so techincally she could come and go as she pleases after she signed out.....it was a beautiful place...my mama on the other hand had to be in a nursing home facility....with locked doors ....other wise she would of been one of those that would escape...it was a wonderful place and we were so happy with the workers.....they were good to her and good to us......very good blend...alot of activities keep the residents and patients happy and contented.

ALMOST FORGOT.........MP DO NOT CLIMB ANY LADDERS TO GET TO THOSE BABY ITEMS.......GET A NEIGHBOR OR A LOCAL TEEN TO GET IT FOR YOU ......ESPECIALLY WHERE THERE ARE SPIDERS UP THERE........SHIVERING ALL OVER HERE.~~~~~~~~~~~

Melinda - It's a surprise this time. Isaac was the only one we found out, we decided never to go that route again. We love the anticipation and surprise. My guess would be a boy though. lol

Pumba
- You are so sweet. I'm not too scared of spiders. I can't be since I'm the only person in my house who gets rid of them. lol Isaac isn't afraid of them yet, when he see a big pine spider on the ground he tries to catch it.

I did something to my neck. I don't know what I never felt anything, just suddenly the base of my skull had excruciating pain when I moved my neck(at all). So we have to miss church, thankfully they live stream it. So we can watch it in a few minutes. http://www.truegraceofgod.org/media/live_stream

Anyhoo, my neck has loosened up some. I've never felt such pain and I've had 5 natural childbirths. I can now turn some to the right, but not at all to the left. Ugh.

Just trying to turn the page so I can bookmark it. lol. Much easier to deal with when I'm the top post. Is it 15 posts that does it?

Geez Mommy P your post was the first I read. I thought you went into labour.:lmao: Here you just wanted to turn the page!

I second Pumba don't climb that ladder! We don't need any accidents. It is warm there anyway...a diaper and a blanket that's all you need. Besides you are going to need new pink stuff anyway. Think Pink....

Moo-- glad Mari gets to stay an extra day. We thought it was going to rain all weekend too but it was beautiful both days. Rained on the way home and is still trying to rain here.

Didn't get to see my castle again! The campsite had so much things for the kids to do I didn't want them to miss out so we just stayed put. They never got out of there bathing suits much this weekend.

Marita-- Your mom is going to be happy where she knows other people and can be taken care of. Plus it is such a peace of mind for you.

Lexi!!!!! What a great week, first Kay visits and now you. Sounds like you are settling in to your new place. And you have two gardens to tend to. Love fresh tomatoes.

NAB, sounds like you had a nice weekend camping. At least you have an RV, LOL. I remember camping in a tent (fortunately not many times), not my cup of tea....

Yes, having mom in a good home indeed gives me peace of mind, but, OY VEY, the cost!!!

What really gets me is that mom has some beautiful living room furniture, a huge wooden living room cabinet, with built in lights, leather furniture, lots of beautiful accessories and pics that me SIL (how has fabulous taste) gave her over the years, and my brother says they can't get any money for it. I don't understand :confused3 He says it will all end up in the trash :scared: Nothing I can do about it. He said something about when you get on state care in Germany you get new furniture from the government, so nobody wants to buy used stuff. All really makes no sense to me at all, there are plenty of people not on welfare, but he knows better than I do and I dont want to argue. He is the one having to deal with it all.

I meant to go grocery shopping yesterday or today, but never felt like it. So I decided to go tomorrow over lunch from work, I don't need much, and it's a slow week before another forecast week the week after.

Hello everyone.

Just a quick check-in to say hey. Hope everyone had a lovely Sunday.

I'm sorry I missed the Melinda sighting. Melinda, if you're reading.....!! Come back soon....we miss you! Glad you and the kids are doing well!

Marita, it must be frustrating to know that most of your mom's stuff will be discarded. Are there photos or trinkets that your brother might easily ship to you?

Moo, 77 pounds?! That calls for a !!! Way to go!

MommyP, how is your neck now? Are you feeling better? Loved the new pics on FB! Your boys are getting so big! I gotta say, if I had seen a spider in the attic, I wouldn't go up there either.

Speaking of creepy critters, this morning at about 2am, DH and I were awakened to the sound of squealing and our cat shuffling around on the floor at the foot of our bed. She was chasing a little bat! :scared1: Although she has no front claws, she swatted it into submission and then chased it into the hall outside Boris' bedroom. By the time DH made it into the hall, the bat was dead. He took it out to the trash barrels and disposed of it, but then I had the darnedest time getting back to sleep! It's funny, because earlier last night (9ish?), Natasha asked me to come upstairs to check out a squeaking noise that she and Boris kept hearing. I went upstairs and checked around, but didn't hear anything. We dismissed it, and the kids went to bed. I shudder to think where the bat was that whole time! :faint: EWWWWWWWWWWWW!

In other news, today was the 11th anniversary of my dad's passing. So hard to believe. :sad1:

Pumba, MamaCel, E, NAB and everybody: !!!

Is the weekend really over already?

Goog Morning!

Where is everyone? :rotfl:

I was scrolling through Kay's trippie looking for pics and ran across this:

Date: January 28, 2007

I must have killed off more than the weakest brain cells by now, I don't remember that inside joke at all :confused3

Sis, I saw Nebo and Smidgy were posting there too, did you know they have another report going?

The joke about the week brain cells was that Lowell says an occassional tropical drink or beer isn't bad for you despite the fact that people say alcohol kills brain cells, because you have billions of brain cells and some of them are always dying, anyway. He further postulated that the weak brain cells are probably the first to die off, anyway, so euthenizing them with a Mai Tai is probably the humane thing to do! :rotfl2: You said you had always held to that theory!

As for new trip reports by Nebo or others, I am sorry to say I haven't looked at anyone's trip reports in a couple years. I hadn't come near the DIS boards after our November trip until recently.

Nab - Sorry to freak you out like that!

Lynette - My neck is better than it was yesterday morning when I first woke up and felt the pain. But not any better than after that. I can move it to the right and some to the left, but not up or down at all. Thankfully the Lord was very merciful to me last night and I slept from 10:30 to 3:30. I had a hard time getting comfortable after that and only slept restlessly until Chad got up(5:15, but I had him heat up my rice sock and with that heat and pressure on my neck I slept good until 7:30.

My boys are at my Mom's. I gotta get over there and see if I can get someone to fix me some breakfast. ;)

And a friend from church is bringing us a meal tonight. Yay! :woohoo:

What really gets me is that mom has some beautiful living room furniture, a huge wooden living room cabinet, with built in lights, leather furniture, lots of beautiful accessories and pics that me SIL (how has fabulous taste) gave her over the years, and my brother says they can't get any money for it. New furniture from the government! Sheeesh, the U.S. has its share of stupid, wasteful, government plans, but they over-looked this one. I wouldn't doubt they'll copy this insanity eventually. Pardon the political rant. It seems your mother's items could be run through an auction, but as you say, you're not in a place to dictate what happens. Maybe if the pieces are put out at the curb, needy people will help themselves and somebody who needs funiture will get it. :confused3

Hello to Melinda! I hope you are enjoying your summer.

Moo, congrats on the weight loss. Great job!!!!!

Lynette, loved the bat story! My cats would do the same thing. They usually play with mice till the poor mice die of exhaustion.

MommyP, hope your neck feels better soon. I know how painful a stiff neck can be, and your problem sounds several degrees worse.

NAB, sounds like you ad your family are making lots of fond family memories together camping. :goodvibes

Mommy P-- I can just imagine the noise level in your house with all those boys. I have one very loud one, that is enough. Hope you neck feels better soon. How will push that baby out otherwise.

Kay-- I don't read my trip reports either anymore and that is what brought me to the Dis in the first place. Then read Mel's, followed her to the CB and the rest is history.

Marita-- I'm guessing the home she is moving too is fully furnished then. It would be like living in a hotel, everyone has the same furniture.

Moo-- I missed the post that you have lost 77 lbs. that is a lot. :cheer2:

Went to swimming lessons this morning to find out Nicholas lessons this week were canceled. Only two signed up. I think they should have still had them, granted it would be like a semi private lesson but that wasn't our doing. Hannah's had 9 kids almost to many for the split class. So we signed him up for the first week of Aug. Next week for him is baseball camp.

Goog evening! Thanks for the nice comments about my weight loss. I think I will be stuck at this weight for a few days - too many yummy and salty things to eat the last couple days :rolleyes1

I met Mari for lunch today before she flew home. Boo hoo :sad1: I'm going to miss her! It sure was nice having her home a little extra, but we stayed up way too late chatting last night.

Lynette - Double ewwwww on the bat in the house! Apparently there was one in our house several years ago when my sister was dog sitting for us, so that was the end of that! She had to call someone in the middle of the night to help her get rid of it  I don't think we've had one since.

Nabbie - My water exercise classes are over for the summer at the place I like to go due to pool maintenance. I could have gone to a different place tonight, but I would have had to leave work early, so I guess I'll just go on Wednesday this week. I may go check out the Y next week to see if I like their classes. At least Hannah was still able to go!

MommyP - Too bad Mony isn't around lately to commiserate about your poor neck. Those rice bags work pretty well though.

Kay - Thanks for telling us the back story behind that TR comment! I don't really read many trip reports lately either. However, I have been enjoying Glenda Max's birthday trip report. I got a kick out of seeing her birthday pics where she was wearing a Cinderella t-shirt and crown and posing with the step sisters (she is a striking six foot tall woman of color with dreadlocks)! :lmao:
