Got lost on the CB again!

Marita - I think listening to German Music while cleaning may help cleaning go faster? Invite Richard Simmons over - see if that helps!!

PJ - :thumbsup2 Great Gift!! (and do tell about that service pony - did it have a way to secure the "presents" ie poop)

TwinkieMama - new location? NICE!

Moo - great gifts too! Can we all go on that cruise?!!

Mony - snuck in did ya? Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Marita - WOOHOOTY on your DS!! Awesome! Hope things get straightened out at your job!

Went to the funeral wake last night - so sad! Just too soon, his family was there greeting everyone... his youngest son has Down's Syndrome, and he looked lost... It was a very crowded funeral home...

DH seems optimistic about prospects - he's not supposed to know about the lay off - Friday is the "official" day (or his last day??? Its a very very small company, and dh said they are laying off only the older workers, not by seniority, by age! Yep, not allowed, but not worth fighting - because of the job prospects -

One job he is going for is a 1 1/2 hour commute!! :faint: but he likes the pay and the job! I think it would be ok for a time, but I told him he couldnt sustain that commute - he says there are 4 people that car pool from here work M-T take W off work TH-F so he wants to try!

Thanks, Twinks! Hope you had a nice vacation :)

Sandy,I hope all works out for your DH, scary situation anyway you look at it.

I never did put the CD on today, but I got the laundry put away that was sitting on my couch for a WEEK. And I vacuumed. The livingroom looks presentable, the kitchen still needs some work. Mainly putting stuff back on top of the fridge (big ceramic punchbowl, matching cups and wine glasses that I use once a year, no room in cabinets).

I am working on a project I want to work on, nothing I have or am expected to do, so it's fun, not work, and I can stop anytime I want.

Still have to make an excursion to the grocery store, at minimum to get some wine :drinking1 :rolleyes1. Hubby got enough provisions to make it over the weekend.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Welcome back, Twink! Does "keeping up with the Poppins" mean that another little one's on the way???!!

I got up at 8:30, then at 9:00 today and went back to bed. The next time I woke up it was WAY later  Guess I must have needed the extra rest.

Sandy - That sounds like a pretty long commute for your hubby, but it might be worth it if the pay is decent.

Peej - That sure was a long work day for you. I could do the late part but it would be awfully hard for me to get there that early.

Now wait just a Poppins pickin minute! Twink, does that new location mean what I think it means?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?

One ought not drop such nuggets of information and then poof, you know! Come back and explain, please!

Hello all you Moovers! I spent a loverly day with Boris and Natasha in the pool today. The sky was blue and gorgeous, the sun was bright, and there was a perfect breeze. Aaaaah! Quite possibly the perfect summer day! I even got a bit of color while floating around the pool on my giant inflatable spotted dinosaur thingy. (No snickering, please.)

Marita, forgot to say congrats on your son's newest accomplishment. You must be so proud!

Sandy, hope your DH finds the perfect job!

What's everyone up to tonight?

Thanks, Lynt! Missed you around here. Sounds like you had a lovely day :beach:

Went shopping today and restocked the freezer to a nice, but not stuffed level. Nice variety, but not crowded. I like it like that ....

Some dishes require putting away, but they are not going anywhere, so might as well wait till tomorrow.

Think I'll go work on my "I dont know what I'm making it for" afghan for a bit

Twinkie!!!! Come back we want details.....

We just got back for the in-laws. Had to get the trailer ready for next weekend. All the water lines needed purging, a tire need changing. Good place to camp out.....:lmao: Didn't have to cook, had a real bathroom and a TV, just missing the computer.

Moo -- did you have crazy weather today? We had hail twice on the way home. And wild wind. Lost the spare tire cover on the trailer on the way home too.

Marita-- Hope your enjoying your birthday weekend. Glad you are actually doing something you like.

Happy Birthday Marita........I have skipped a few days I know.....but I am pooped.......baby Ava is now a walking machine.....she is so darn cute and I love her to pieces......Megara(the dog) ate my zip locked baggie with two banana whoopie pies in it.....she must of woofed it down whole.......cause this morning she upchucked it and the baggie is almost complete......brat.....I looked high and low for those whoopies......that was Wednesday night.......we have had such gross weather.....today the sun was out but it was actually cool.....this am it was in the low 50s ......to cold to put the pool up I guess......Farmers Almanac (aka Peter Geiger) said ...July, August and September are going to be the same......gross.......I am just going to enjoy the cool crisp weather I guess....

hope you all are okey......and Marita ....congrats to your son too.......we are proud cyber relatives

Thanks Pumba! I'll have to tell DS about the cyber relatives, LOL, I'm sure he'll

Nab, first relaxing weekend I had in months, feels good

Lynette! Yay for finally being able to use the pool!!! We had a lovely day here too. I actually cleaned off a lounge chair and sat it the sun for a bit today. The dogs didn't know what to make of me being out in their yard!

Nabbie - Sorry your weather was carpy today. We had high 70s, puffy clouds, and a nice breeze :thumbsup2 You should see if you can talk your hubby into coming to Michigan to go camping so I could meet up with you!

Marita - I'm happy you're having a relaxing birthday weekend :goodvibes

Thank you LilG! Darn kids grew up, so I am celebrating the xx anniversary of my 49th birthday (cant do math this late at night)

If I ever get out to a park, I'll keep my eyes peeled.

When are you leaving anyway, I cant remember. i think late July?

Hope you the most fantabulous trip ever!! :flower3:

Marita -- by your edit I think you are playing more games on FB. I don't seem to go over there as much. A quick glance these days.

Pumba-- I can handle the cooler weather if it doesn't come with the rain. We have only had our a/c on two days so far and that was when the kids were still in school. I'm afraid we are going to get really hot weather in Sept. My mom told me it is going to be a really bad winter. So enjoy now.

Moo-- I will have to talk to him about going in that direction. Right now I know we are heading to the East coast to see my sick uncle.

Lil'g-- I am sure you will have a great trip even if it is hot and crowded.I will say safe travels since I am not sure when you are leaving.

Heading off to church.

Have a Great Sunday!

Just talked to my brother. Mom is in a short term care facility right now, but he is looking for a long term place. She can't stay alone anymore. Apparently she fell out of bed on Monday night. How, who knows, she has a guard rail on the bed. Seems she wanted to call someone (don;t know who) and leaned over too far and fell out and hit her head. (got stitches). She managed to call a help line, who called my brother at 1AM. He asked her why she didnt call him, and she said " I don't know".

I'm glad she wont be alone at home anymore (except for morning and evening visits from nurses and noon meal delivery and visits from my brother and a friend). Everone thought she shouldn't stay alone when I went in May, but my brother thought it was better to keep her in her own place as long as possible. Well, it's not possible anymore. I'm glad she will have day round care at least.

A nursing home costs around $3000+ a month :scared1: It's going to be a hardship.

Hey Allie - when did you get the tag? (I'm so observant! not)

Marita :grouphug: I have no good words to add! just

Twinkscome out come out wherever you are!!

NAB Big Brother is on tonight, and another cut for the Next Food Network Star!!

I'm sure it is - there's always more one wants to do tho isnt there?
:grouphug:

I think Mom's done wanting to do anything else, besides, she can't. She travelled to Israel, Ireland, Scotland, medditeranean and who knows where else (and of course the US, just florida). I just wish for peace for her now.

Holy crap, I tried to call about bereavement rates to get a perspective. Next couple of day rates run around $3K, bereavement with AA around 2K:scared1: I got my rate in May for $560!!! I searched for travel agents in Orlando online, seems they are non-existant :confused3 Anyway, DH said I will go to the funeral when the time comes, it's not here yet. Just glad I thought of bereavement rates.

I hate those voice prompts with a passion!

Hi everyone! Sorry about the mystery but I am busy with kids, family (I am still out of town) and my new hobby- trying not to puke. ;) It does indeed look like Eight Is Enough for the Twinkie family.
:):):):):):):):)

Marita- my grandpa is in a nursing home now... it is hard all the way around. Fortunately I get to see him this summer. Also if you have frequent flyer miles saved up, I have found those useful for emergency travel.
