MOOvers on the MOOve Again

Hello Moovers! Hope y'all are having a great day. My baby is 8 years old today! *sniff!* I am making a giant birthday cookie for her today. Her Rainforest Cafe party is tomorrow, and then Saturday we plan to have a cake at home for just us plus my mom. She also gets to have a special snack at school today (popsicles)....no muss, no fuss. One per child, plus a few extras for the teacher and her aide. And no, Peej, I will NOT expect the extras to be sent home with Natasha. :rotfl:

I was justing wondering if it was a leak, that maybe it was noting too serious or costly, but I don't know of anything else that would make your PS go out?
Hope the friendly mechanic can help you out.

Please keep my DH in your prayers, he is just going to have some x-rays/pictures taken to see if anything new has developed. Can you believe 9 months have passed since it all started?

I wish it was a slow leak, since I could put off the repair a bit if that was the issue. But it's like someone opened up the power steering fluid well all at once, so I'm thinking no soup for me on that one. Waaaaah! Hopefully, my Brownie connections will at least make the repair reasonably priced.

Hope Tim's tests all go well today. Nine months already? Yikes!

Gotta run home and bake....See y'all later!

Happy Birthing Day, Lynette! Hope Natasha has a Fab Birthday!!!

Evening, Moovers!

Slow day around these parts today.

Mony, hope all went well for Tim.

Lynette, happy Giving Birth day, and hope your car doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Nab, hope you had at the fieldtrip.

News of the day here: DH survived the layoffs today :worship: He was kind of upset about some people that were let go, though. One guy that started same day as him 32 years ago got layed off, as did his boss, and other people.
He is waiting to see how they get reorganized. So am I, for that matter (for Finance).

Apparently there were layoffs in a lot of organizations today and yesterday, some pretty drastic. This was all Management and Office and technical, not front line cast members. I don't even know yet how many at my resort.

In other developments, I found out today that our team outing tomorrow will all be dutch treat, nothing getting paid for by the company. But we were not told that, or I might not have suggested mini-golf as an activity because we have to pay, instead of going to a park for free. Oh well! We are all greatful to still have a job, and going on a paid for team outing would just seem wrong right now!
Lunch tomorrow is Red Lobster, LOL!

So I'm off to check out the menu and then make coffee for tomorrow and get some dinner.

Later!

Marita - I'm happy to hear that your hubby survived the layoffs. I'm sure that at a private company like Disney, performance is factored heavily into such decisions.

Yes, it has been pretty slow here today. I was feeling kind of like a thread killer! :rolleyes1

I've had a really lazy day. I guess decluttering yesterday was a bit more tiring than I thought it was. But it is nice to have all that stuff put away. Now, if only somebody would do the vacuuming . . .

Marita-- glad your hubby got saved.

And so true , everytime Marita has a day off we disappear. ( Not on purpose though)

Moo -- don't over do it....I know we keep saying but we just worry about you.

The field trip tired me out I took the kids out for dinner tonight. I had one little boy I kept losing, he was all over the place. I tried to stay with another mother so she could be my extra eyes on that one. Which means poor Hannah didn't get to do what she like because he wasn't interested and moved on. I did stop him a few times but boy oh boy.....

Good evening, ladies (and any lurking gents)!

Moo, those cupcakes are so pretty! I showed Natasha before she went to bed, and she declared them "stunning". Thank you for her b-day shout-out! :goodvibes Glad you're taking it easy today.

Marita, thank heavens your DH made out okay today. And thank you for the birthing day wishes.

Although my brother offered earlier today to fix my car for me (he's a mechanic, and has an onsite repair business), I decided instead to take the loser cruiser to the DH of Natasha's Brownie leader (got that?). I could really use an almost free car repair by my brother, but last time I asked him to work on my car, he played cat and mouse with me for 10 days and ended up yelling at me to pay someone else to do it. I just don't need the drama of dealing with him. So I'm dropping my car off tomorrow, and Brownie leader's DH thinks he can get it back to me Saturday afternoon. Nice to have friends in high places. Heh.

NAB, I LOVE a good field trip. I got picked to accompany Boris' 3rd grade class to the Massachusetts State House on April 7. Should be fun!

I still have so much to do! I feel frazzled!! I am leaving straight from school tomorrow to go to Cincinnati where I'll spend the night. I wanted to fly with Eren, so I'm flying out of Cincy. We leave Saturday morning and then we'll be back the next Monday!! I'll try to check in one more time from mom's house tomorrow night, but I make no promises. ;) I'm not bringing my laptop, and I don't think Hollywood is either. I don't travel light and that's just another thing to carry. Behave, have fun, and don't do anything I wouldn't do.

Peace. Out.

:grouphug:

Thanks, Nab. Glad you survived the field trip at least.

I fired up the toaster oven, and flames started shooting up from a front row of Burners! :scared1: I almost yelled for DH, but it died down after a bit when I kept the door closed. No idea what caused that :confused3 Something must have spilled. SO I put a note on it: "DO not use until cleaned" and turned on the big oven to heat one little chicago roll.

I will be 10 by the time I have any dinner.........

Shouldn't Celery be home by tonight?

Peej, not sure if you'll see this, but Natasha got a HUGE charge out of your text! She was so tickled that you mentioned her b-day....just wanted to say thank you! Hope your trip is amazing! Need I even say that you NEED to take a bazillion pictures? ;)

ETA: Moo, I bingo'd....yer up!

Today was the Spaghetti dinner fundraiser for 5th grade camp.
They raised about 700.00. The bottle drive they did 2 weeks ago also raised 700.00. They totally rocked!

I'm tired!

Get this. I go to put the girls to bed. Mal had some pj's laying on the bed. I help her get them on, she lays down and starts screaming. A yellow jacket was in her shirt!:scared1:

Stung her right on the neck. WTH????????

I hate them things with a passion. Now she is afraid to put on any clothes or sleep in her bed.

It's freaking March and cold. Where did this stupid thing come from? I searched the whole room and I'm hoping it was just a freak of nature thing.

Cause I'm the one sleeping in her bed tonight.

She's in my bed with her daddy, who can po-tect her.:)

Happy Birthday Natasha! I hope you had a wonderful day.

hi y'all. i hate to be a downer but you guys are always so supportive when life sucks. my best friend, tasha, just found out that her dad was cleaning out tree limbs and the tree fell on him and it killed him. it is such a devastating shock. please keep her in your prayers. thanks.

Mony, thanks for Natasha's b-day wishes. :goodvibes Poor Mal! I hope the sting doesn't get all puffy and sore!

ETA: Oh, Elisabeth! That's horrible! Your poor friend! Sending prayers for Tasha and her family.

Sure thing BBN. I'm very sorry for your news.

Lynt: I keep looking at her to see if I see any adnormal swelling. That stuff freaks me out.

Mony, I don't blame you for being freaked out! The idea of any sort of critter or crawly/flying/skittery thing inside my house gives me the hebegebees! :scared:

BBN, prayers for you friend :grouphug: The same thing happened to a collegue of DH's some years ago, and he was even an arborist by profession.

Mony, I would be scared too of yellow jackets

I think I will go with the cream of potato and bacon soup in a bread bowl with a salad with shrimp for out pay your own kubafriggingyay outing lunch tomorrow. Unless they have lobster on the lunch menu. I couldn't tell from the website for sure. I have been craving lobster lately, havent had any in years. Might as well celebrate keeping jobs for a little while yet. But doesnt look good for lobster for lunch...

Just stopping by to offer prayers -

For some reason, I feel so sad tonight...

I'm good, I'm working, so I have 2 days, a paycheck... its not me - its someone near me - I called my mom, all's well there - made dh call his mom - she isnt 1000% healthy - but the tests ruled out a lot of really bad stuff! (she had surgery and turned jaundice!)

so I'm praying, knowing God knows better than me!

Looks like I missed some birthdays... so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you birthday peeps.

Hugs to those that need 'em.

I have been busy, busy, busy!
:scared:
My outside dog had become an inside dog, due to some arthritis in her hip and the cold outside. They predict anywhere from 4-15" snowfall by sometime tomorrow. Not snowing yet though.

Cat is freaked. Keeping them separate for now. Hopefully, they will adjust to each other??
:confused3

Oh, bbn, so sorry to hear about your friend's dad :grouphug: Sending prayers for her and her family.

Mony
- OUCH!!! Poor Mal! Geesh, it only got up into the 50s - I can't imagine where that little bugger could have come from. Maybe through an attic vent?

Lynette - I'm happy that Natasha liked the birthday cupcakes! Sounds like a wise decision not taking your brother up on his offer to fix your car  Is this the same brother with the kids from helk?!

Off to take my turn.

Marita - That sounds like a goog lunch choice. Hopefully, I'll be able to have some soup after my two-week check-up next Thursday. Though I'd also go with the lobster too, if they have it on the lunch menu. Maybe they have some type of appetizer with lobster? Sometimes the menus in the restaurants don't match up with the on-line versions, especially for promotional items. They're advertising Lobster Fest up here right now.

Nabbie - Sorry Hannah missed out on some of the things she wanted to do. Maybe you can do a family trip this summer so she can do everything she wants to do!

Peej!!!
Hope you have an awesome trip! Please let me know which day to tape Ellen :)

Hey all. I have returned. I am TIRED!

hugs and pixie dust and prayers to mal (eeek, mony!) and elisabeth's friend tasha

congrats to peej for her license and disneyland trip.

happy belated birthday to nabbers and natasha (did they get their pins?) !

Happy "dodging the bullet" wishes to marita's husband

hi lil g, mommyp, javamom, windy, melinda, etc (etc = everyone!)

happy "Glad the recovery is going well" wishes to moo.
happy "hope your toe feels better soon" wishes to pumba.

happy "Don't be in the dumps!" wishes to sandy

twinks and bdg - yes, bowler hat guy was entertaining. I dunno how he does the egg trick using a kid! :confused3
the other magician was fun too. he stabbed a kid in the neck. tee hee.
I'll have photos sometime -
I have a few we need Professor Botanist to identify.
Greg is really into plants and loved animal kingdom. some of the prehistoric plants were odd combinations half way between a fern and a palm.
Greg's interested in finding out what they are and seeing if he can find something similar that will grow in Tennessee.
marita's husband might be able to help too.

we did identify one tree - not sure of the real name, but a CM from nambibia said it's called the ear tree and is native to africa. greg saved some of the pods from one.

I'm sure I forgot someone in there!

but I'm finally home, safe and sound. Riley was extra happy to see me.
and I'm happy to be in my own bed with my cuddly puppy!
