Welcome Home, Cel! Looking forward to seeing some photos when you get a chance :thumbsup2

Thanks for the recovery wishes. If I'd known it would have gone that easy, I would have done it sooner. I'm down over 20 lbs since starting the pre-op diet! :goodvibes

Hi, Steph! Poor doggy. Do you give her glucosamine/chondroitin? It was hard to give our elderly corgi pills, but he gobbled down the dried chicken breast strips that were infused with that stuff, no problem.

Sandy - Sending you a hug and hope all is well  Yay for getting some work!

Speaking of which, guess I'd better get to bed. Too much napping today

Tantrum warning------->What is up with all of this Frost!!!! Stop it! That means, it's cold outside and I'm tired of it.

Welcome back Cel!

Mal woke up, and seems uneffected by the fact that she was stung by a yellow jacket last night, but has asked me, "Mommy, why did you put a jammy shirt on me that had a wellow jacket in it?"

That's probably gonna take some therapy.

Tim is in Indianapolis today along with all the sweet 16ers. Flew in this morning. He said it was a mad house.

Have a wonderful Friday! Go spartans!

Although my brother offered earlier today to fix my car for me (he's a mechanic, and has an onsite repair business), I decided instead to take the loser cruiser to the DH of Natasha's Brownie leader (got that?). I could really use an almost free car repair by my brother, but last time I asked him to work on my car, he played cat and mouse with me for 10 days and ended up yelling at me to pay someone else to do it. I just don't need the drama of dealing with him. So I'm dropping my car off tomorrow, and Brownie leader's DH thinks he can get it back to me Saturday afternoon. Nice to have friends in high places. Heh.

Dummy. You should have called Clem.

BDG

Lynette - Is this the same brother with the kids from helk?!

Yes, Moo...he's my only sibling. Thankfully. It seems that he can only get to me when he needs a favor, or is looking for a place to dump his kids....never to offer anything. :sad2:

Hey all. I have returned. I am TIRED!

happy belated birthday to nabbers and natasha (did they get their pins?) !

Welcome home, Cel!

No pins yet....we're watching the mail! ;) :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure that if Clem squawked about driving to Indiana, then eastern Massachusetts is WAAAAAAAY out of the question. Don't ya think?

Today is Natasha's Rainforest Cafe dinner...she's very excited! DH finagled the day off, so he'll be joining us too. I'm looking forward to the veggie slaw they serve....delish!

Prayers sent for your friend who lost her dd.

Celery is Home. She got in at 8:30 last night. She is helping a friend with a wedding.

Thanks Celmamma. We still appreciate the updates. You're a good mamma.:)

Speaking of good mammas, my mamma dropped off three sheet cakes for Zack's spaghetti dinner last night. Everyone just loved them. She's a very good grandmamma.

I have a headache comming on. Off to find Excedrine.

It actually warmed up over here quite nicely, so my tratrum worked and I got my way.

I have a friend in Fargo sandbagging at the moment. I really hope he doesn't get what they are showing on TV. The snow pics he sent me were amazing.

Not taking away from what you got Nab, but his made yours look like nothing.

Hi, Mony! I decided to check in on the thread during my "breaks" while telecommuting today  Hope you're able to catch your headache early

We just had five military helicopters fly by near our house. Had to go look outside to see what all the racket was.

Can you tell that I'm having a little trouble concentrating today??! LOL. I think part of it is that I'm normally home alone and hubby has Fridays off, so I'm not used to trying to work with him being home.

This morning, I participated in a meeting by phone at 9:30 and one of my coworkers asked if I was still in my jammies. I was happy to be able to say that I was showered and dressed!

BBN- :grouphug: and prayers for Tasha and her family. How tragic.

Hi Moo. :surfweb: How are you feeling?

WB Celery. popcorn:: I happen to know a thing or two about ferns, palms and the gnetophytes which look like a cross between ferns and palms. ;)

Happy Giving Birth Day Lynt! And Happy Party Day.

Mony- Glad to know tantrums work.

Maybe Java and I should join forces? The snow is going to destroy my flowering pear.

Bon Voyage Peej. Have a wonderfu time!!!!

big L - I mailed it on the 21st. I thought it'd be there by now. I only put two stamps on it, but I think that's enough.
if it's not, it's in a pop century envelope and maybe if it gets returned someone will add extra postage.
maybe.

twinks - I'll get michael to upload the pictures soon so you can see them and help.
I might have to help him upload them.

mony - they said on the news yesterday that they're evacuating parts of fargo. sounds crazy up there!

I ended up not helping with the friends wedding today - they got most everything set up before I even woke up (I was tired!)
so tomorrow I have to pick up the fruit trays and tartlets at 1 and go from there.
the bride gave me a list of 31 things.
yes, 31 things.
and it's just a dessert reception!
I told her to relax and I'd see her when she's married. :)
now off to target' to buy her something.

Lil G - No big dog, just two little ones! :lmao:

My hubby was out at the store and he saw the copters too.

Going to NY this weekend? w00t!

Mony! Guess what I found on my porch? Thank you, thank you :)

Thanks so much for the prayers. I think it definitely helps. Have a nice weekend.

Evening, Moovers!

Moo, what did you find on your porch?

Is PJ gone already? How long is she going for?

Welcome back, CEL!

Well, I went on my first ever Dutch treat Team Outing today. Lunch at Red Lobster. I ended up with a cup of cream of potato(e) and bacon soup, which was good, and ate 3 cheese biscuits. Those things are GOOG! Havent been to a RL in many years. $6, w00t!
They had a special of "add lobster tails for $12.99 to any entree, or get a lobster meal for $28.99", no thanks)

Then we went to play mini-golf at the hard course at Fantasia Gardens. That was fun, we were quite liberal with the rules. I got 4 strokes at every single hole :rolleyes1 I had somesome climb into gulleys or roughs to get my ball or hit it out, as I am not about to do that at my tender old age. I was admired for my consistancy of 4 strokes at each and every hole.
The weather was great for it, 70's but overcast. It got pretty hot when the sun came out a few times. $6.97 with 50% discount.

So after 2 hours of play, we moved on to Beaches and Cream for ice creams. I got a hot fudge sundae. It was good, but for my taste, not enough fudge and whipped cream. I think it's restricted by the shape of the container. I think that was around $7 (no discount). SO overall not a too expensive day, and we got out of the office before we get seperated sometime soon.

Knitfreak news update:

So her Fiancee went to apply to another company for a job on Monday (more pay). I thought it was kind of not good ethics, as he got paid for 2 months of training and had not even started a normal job yet. But then they told him everybody was getting a 10% paycut. Anyway, he was on the interview Monday and they offered him a job that he accepted.

On Wednesday, he had to go back to the new company for some paperwork, and they asked him if he could start on Monday instead of April 13. He said no problem. Then he called his current company to say he would be a little late, and got informed that all the trainees that were in his class were getting let go! :scared1: So he lucked out.

Today, KF was complaining about having him home every night (he worked second shift) and how it messed up her TV schedule, LOL. And bemoaning the fact that he will be home every night for at least 8 weeks during training at the new company.

I recommended my 2 TVs are essential plan, but apperently it does not work so well with people married less than almost 40 years. As in our Internal Control guy said, if he goes off to watch a show, his wife complains they dont spend enough time together. Whatevah!!!

DH now has 3 times the area to cover. Oh joy!

Still no clue what will happen to us.

Marita-- sounds like a nice day out. Cheap lunch. Bet Lynette didn't get away as cheap at the Rainforest Cafe.

We had nice weather today too. Got up to 12 :woohoo: The sun was shinning and no winds.

Mony-- we had heavy frost this morning too, I made Hannah wear her winter coat to school but she didn't really need by the end of the day just a heavy sweater.

Lil'g-- did we miss your birthday! I thought it was the 26th. Or is that your wife's birthday. Happy Birthday!!!

Moo--Why were there choppers, did you find out? I am with Marita what did you get on your porch?

Celery-- Welcome Back!!!!

12 degrees???????? BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Remind me not to move to Canada!

Dang, I just remeberd that tomorrow is DH's birthday! :scared1: I have nothing

bought and nothing planned! Not that I ever do, really

ETA: Just talked to DH. We are going for an early dinner at RL for lobsterfest to celebrate his B-day and survining the great lay-off of 2009!

Mony sent me a beautiful spring flower bouquet to brighten my day! :flower3: Pic tomorrow when they open up.

No idea what the helicopters were for.

pirate: Anybody up for chat tonight? I'm heading over there now . . .

Marita -- 12 C is really 54 F so it wasn't to bad really.

That's what I was thinking! That place adds up fast! I don't think I've ever gotten out of there with a tab less than $100!

Marita -- 12 C is really 54 F so it wasn't to bad really.

Oh! You need to put a translation in all your temperature posts! I've been thinking you were freezing up there! 54 isn't bad at all!

It's nice here - it got up to almost 70 - but it's cool at night so I've had the a/c and heat completely off.
trying to save some money after giving it all to the Mouse!

I checked my work email and got the info on all the changes happening at my job -
I knew they were coming, so I was a little worried. I predicted one of them right!
They're going to stop our 403b (401k for non profits) matching for awhile - which is not a huge deal to me since we don't see it on the front end.
and everyone over 60,000 is getting a salary freeze (doesn't apply to me - but it would if I'd gotten the promotion - so Ben won't get a raise for awhile after getting a 40% increase. ) and everyone under that amount is capped at a 3% increase - it used to be 4%.
anyway, I'm very pleased! I was worried that layoffs were coming or they were cutting out travel completely. I also thought the salary freeze would be across the board.
