Sandy - Thanks for checking in. Is your son going to be able to attend the wedding? :grouphug:

B - Have you auditioned for Letterman's writing team? :rotfl:
As all you Floridians complain about the cold, I have to say I felt like we were having a heat wave here when I got in my car this morning and it was 26 instead of 5. It honestly felt warm out. How sick is that?
Same deal here today, but the temp was heading downward again this evening. Pretty slippery in the grocery store parking lot.

The pubic Montessori I taught at last year was also a magnet and had a similar demographic of children. And now you know more than you ever wanted to know!
Working for the gubbermint, I live in fear of making this typo in my documents :scared:

L - ACK and Beurk! I had a much lovelier lunch today. I took my secretary out for her birthday lunch.

Pumba/Cel - We have to license dogs here too. Plus they have to wear their rabies tag making for jingly dogs. But it's nice to be able to hear them running around ;)

Marita - I'll take that bet! I'm at post 4321 right now.

Steph - How are you and your family doing? Hope the funeral service went OK

When I write emails to parents or my class newsletter I read them approximately 17 times and then have my assistant read them. That is, if she's chosen to show up that day. Maybe I should have someone proofread my posts. Any volunteers?
p.s. I think it's supposed to get cold here again, too.

Moo, that was nice of you to take your secretary out for her b-day. My coworker and I share an assistant, and the 2 of them share a b-day, which is Tuesday, so I guess we'll be going to lunch again next week.

CBM was feeling very generous toward me today, since I finished a project today which will save him several thousand dollars. When I brought him the finished details this afternoon, I thought he was going to hug me. :scared:

RE: Licensing of pets, we do that here too. In my town, the cost is $12 for neutered/spayed animals, and $15 for "unaltered" ones. Mojo needs to be neutered soonishly. Maybe once the Spring comes, so he won't have mounds of snow to contend with during his recovery.

What do I win if you lose? I still think they put an extra 2-3 thousand posts on my record. I rarely posted in the early days.

I have an educational story for you, which I am sure nobody cares about, but its been part of my work stress lately.

Laundry costs per room are way over budget. And that is a HUGE expense for hotels. So in talking with the Exec Housekeeper and the Laundry Finance guy, we figured out that part of the issue is that with the room rehab at one side of the resort, we added 1,152 pillows that are being placed on beds. Nobody took that into consideration when doing budgets( Or even knew about it on the Finance side). So pillow case cleaning is way up, but so are sheets and towels. More digging to be done..........

Bet you (the collecive you)
never think about that when going on a disney vacation

L - Sounds like CBM should have taken you out for a REALLY nice lunch!

My secretary isn't just "my" secretary, but she handles finalizing a lot of my projects, so I always like to stay on her good side.

Sorry Marita, I love extra pillows too. But if I thought my Disney vacation would be less expensive, I'd bring my own. :rotfl:

Okay, ladies. I've posted all the dreck and drivel I have for today. Gotta get to bed. Gotta get up for work tomorrow, and then I'm hosting yet another playdate tomorrow after school. At some point, I'm going to need to learn to say no!

Sweet dreams!

Marita, does Y&B have decorative pillows on the beds? I wouldn't think they clean those often :crazy2:

That's why I was always taking it off my bed. I just like having the four sleeping pillows. Disney gives the option of not changing the beds every day - I'm not sure how many people expect their bedding to be changed daily. That wouldn't be such a need if more hotels used fitted bottom sheets instead of flat ones that get all discombobulated!

Sorry, wont count unless you notify hotel you dont need them, and I dont think our systems are equipped to handle that. Just be happy to get clean pillow cases.

So far only about 579 (roughly) room have the new setup, Another 621 to go.. Maybe I should reconsider the retirement package when it comes.

And go to work for H&R Block.

NAHHHHHH I think I posted before I used to do taxes for Donald Duck. But I really hate that, being responble for someones taxes. But if need be, I could do that.

I passed my CPA exam first sitting. :snooty:

Sorry if I seem snooty about that, but its an accomplishent. I think BDG could relate. Not that I ever really used it.

Or I could work for Mickey D's and ask if you want fries with that?

Alrighty, this was a mixed up post

Sure I'll proofread for ya'. That's in my job description down here. ;) Although, my director does a wonderful job of typing up letters, etc. I just proofread for spellun'. ::yes:: We are supposed to be warm again tomorrow. High in the 60's! :cool1: OH, and we had a little girl show up in her flip flops today. Sorry no photographic evidence :sad2: , but we figured her feet had to be freezing at play time because she was running around on the cold floor in BARE FEET!!! :cold:

Sandy - Thinking of you! :grouphug:

Morning pumba!
I'm so glad this style has been not only associated with my city of birth, but that said city is also being called by my name. Now THAT is something to be proud of. I need clarification, though. Perhaps I'm just being a Peej. The handcuffs were where? Not on his hands?

Disclaimer: McMillan is the hood.

p.s. I had a student come in with a house arrest bracelet on (did I tell that story?), but haven't had handcuffs yet.
Not on his hands - on his pants - like the belt loop at the back -
I do not get it.
And your poor house arrest story is pitiful. :( :( :(
Thanks for the explanation on the montessori makeup -
I'm really not joking at all - me and my mom were just talking about it on Monday.
I explained that I was pretty sure both your current school and previous school were in the hood.
there's a public montessori in Nashville I think - but there are also several private ones. One of my mom's friend's daughter in law works at one. My mom wants to know if it's one you interviewed at.
cuz she's nosy.

And thank you SOOOO MUCH for finally explaining 1-4-3.
The rest of us were perplexed.
:confused3
I'm pretty sure we've asked before, but it's nice of you guys to actually answer this time.
(I couldn't go a whole post without snark!  )

Hi, off to my girls only weekend up north.

Have a nice weekend.

I plan on playing some slots, sledding, relaxing, and SHOPPING!!!

PEEJ: I just wish innocense in kids could be preserved for as long as possible.

Monica- Have a great time!!!! I know you will :) I would love a girls weekend. Or a girls afternoon.

Melinda- Scooby doo, where are you?

Marita- Yes, I was all dolled up to go to work. We had a heat wave so I wore my favorite skirt without worrying about freezing my astarstar off.

Moo- :wave2: Just going with alliteration. How is the weather?

Utah- How is skool?

BBN- Thanks for the cookies. :thumbsup2 This working gig is really cutting into my dreck-n-drivel not to mention cinderella time.

Good morning Pumba, Allie, Snarkgirl, the Peej, MommyP, Sandy, Bethipooh, Celery, Celmama, Naughty Riley the Princess Pup. Also good morning to the Menfolk and anyone else I may have inadvertantly forgotten, slighted, leftout or otherwise overlooked. :flower3:

The only Montessori schools in my current district are private preschools/kindergartens. However my SIL is a Montessori teacher at a public school much like Peej's.

My favorite teacher story is from a friend of mine out on the prairie who taught first grade at a regular public school. So they are learning vowel sounds and brainstorming as a class some words that make the "oo" sound like shoot, boot, loot etc. and writing the words on their class word list.

When one little girl waves her hand and pratically jumps for joy and says

"I know! I know one! I know!!!!! HOOTERS has the oo sound. I know 'cause my mommy works there."

Woo hoo! Riley got his own shoutout! Thanks, twinks!

WARNING!

Watch your credit card statements.
Given the yucky credit crunch, I think the companies are trying their best to make some money.
Citi just changed the terms of my card.
Which means I went from an 8.99% APR to 24.99% :faint: :crazy2: :scratchin

So I called them and they changed it back, but I will no longer have that card.
Like I care.
I'm trying to get OUT of debt!
